Could you just give away the Stranger Things Content?
Would you guys mind just giving away the Stranger Things content? I don't have enough money and time to get these things. I've only gotten the Jonathan skin and sweaters because of I and that's it. I don't wanna miss out on this stuff but I don't want to have to. If you guys have the ability to then please do it. Or maybe on the last day or something I don't know. I'm forced to just sit here and watch it all go away and can't ever get it again.

Dude, it’s like $10. If you can’t afford that, it frankly isn’t BHVR’s problem.
Besides, it’s a LICENSED chapter which means they aren’t allowed to give it out for free unless specifically allowed by Netflix per their agreement (spoiler alert, they won’t).

They gave a bunch away a few days ago but I'm not sure I'd hold my breath for a big giveaway. I'm guessing it'll be that kind of giveaway until it leaves the store where they just drop random codes in the Forum or Twitter or Streams and you just gotta hope you're fast enough to get it before others do.

That’s not really fair for the people that bought the stuff with real money tbh. They’d have to refund everyone to make that fair which is just not a good idea because it will lose them money and it will take up way too much time to do.

I payed for the stuff too. Not all of it though. Those people had the money while I just don't. If they had the money for that then they'll probably be fine.

I do not have the money to spend on that. Same with a lot of people out there. $10 is a lot.

Yeah, I payed for it to. I spent plenty of money already. And I still need to spend $120 to get the rest of it. So far I've spent $12 on the chapter $15 on Jonathan and $5 on the sweaters. $32 on just Stranger Things. I feel like that's a lot. At least for me. I can't just go spend an extra $120.

Because it's licensed content that is going away forever that I want to get. I've spent so much time collecting most licensed stuff aside from the skins but I'm eventually gonna get them. Like I did the entire Left 4 Dead rift for the reason of it is licensed and I'm gonna do the same for Saw. But Stranger Things is leaving and if I can't even pay for it then there is nothing I can do than ask for something.

I will never understand this logic. Just because we paid for something to have it earlier doesn't mean that it isn't fair just because someone gets it for free later. I've gotten tons of chapters for free and watched other people get chapters I've paid money to have early for free. It doesn't matter how someone else got the thing because I still have the thing as well. In this situation where said chapter is being vaulted I don't see why giving it away would harm anyone who bought it. You were already going to spend the money on it at the time and unless you knew that in the future the chapter was gonna be gone you've not lost anything.

While I agree they don't need to give Stranger Things content away, I don't think it has anything to do with "fairness" to the people who previously bought it. Just because I bought something a while ago doesn't mean it's somehow unfair for someone else to get it in a giveaway months or years later. Me paying for access to something isn't me paying to ensure nobody else ever gets it for free in the future. If I pay money to see a movie in the theater, I don't think it's unfair for other people to see it for free on television down the road, and I wouldn't go looking for a refund of my ticket price now knowing that I could have waited a long time and maybe seen it for free.
I do agree though that it's a shame they're losing the license, I thought they did some good work with that IP. And it's all so Netflix can push a Stranger Things video game on its new kind of meh-sounding mobile video game platform.

Yeah I don't think many would really say "That's unfair" if they did end up doing it. Sure there will be some but those people will get over it. They won't hang on it for 6 years. I mean it shouldn't bother them. All it does is allow everyone to use the skin. I don't think they'd be worried if anyone that isn't them could use the skins.

I still doubt it's because of the mobile game. There is probably a bigger game in development. Possibly that cancelled Telltale game.

Maybe? 🤷♂️ I wouldn't be surprised if there's multiple Stranger Things video game type things planned. But I suspect Netflix wanted to tighten its control over that IP to make it truly exclusive to Netflix streaming services.

Well funnily enough those things will end up having more value than anything digital you collect. When this game dies in 5-10 years and the servers are turned off, your "collection" gets erased off a drive somewhere

I'm a collector that buys things for myself. I have plenty things of value. But I don't want to ever sell them. I don't see the point in collecting to then just removing it all. I collect to just collect. That's it. I want these skins and this is probably the only way to possibly get it.

I'm with you man. I have to choose between medication or the dlc. I choose the medicine obviously. It sucks not being able to afford them rn when they are about to be gone forever.

Do you really have to own everything?
My suggestion, if you don't own any st skins get one you really like and plan to use.
If you don't get anything just accept it and find something else. Plenty of skins and characters in the game to choose from. Also you can use shards to buy some neat stuff, although grind is real.
Move on man, it's called life. I learned that as a kid in war torn country where even simple toys I wanted at the time were out of my reach.

I own a PS4 and I lost my job. So I'm being cautious with my money. So I understand How you feel. But business are business and they don't care about you even if you find the cure for cancer.
If it's worth as a word of advice, why buy licensed chapter when at the end of the day they can Just stop the support from your machine? ( Old consoles, old PC's specs and so on...)
I never spend a single coin of my wallet on payed DLC for this game, mainly because I'm not that good at it , and because I don't want to spend money on something that can be taken off from me at any desired time by them.
I have almost every freebie character just by playing the game and this is what I like the most. Getting stuff for free with my time spent on the game.

The issue often isn't 'can you afford 10 bucks' and more 'do you live in a country where you can get a credit card?'.
I lived in Japan for a while, and it was frustrating - it's nearly impossible for a foreigner to get a credit card, and at that time very few Japanese clients would let you pay using a foreign credit card or PayPal. No idea what the situation is like now.
That said, OP - no. They can't just give things like that away for free.

We did a lot of giveaways on Friday, on the forums, on Discord and on Twitter. As far as I'm aware, we've no plans to do any further giveaways prior to the content leaving the store next week.

My favorite part was how 80% of those were immediately swept up by bots and resold. I sat around for a few hours trying to snag one and just gave up.
