How to make screen brighter?

In some maps I literally can't see anything because the game is too dark... most of the time its fine when it comes to generators etc. but becomes a huge problem against hag and trapper since I can barely see their traps even when I try hard to look for them and basically have my face in the ground the whole game but still fail to see them...

    3 options:

    - Playing in low settings.

    - Using Reshade (my favourite)

    - Using Nvidia filters.

Basically play on pc for advantages.

You can try your tv settings but it wont look right. Either way it all makes the game look worse imo.

If you wear an eyepatch on one eye at all times you can swap the eye its on everything will seem brighter for a while because you've adapted that eye to darkness.

Pirates would do it in the past.

You should do it, its kinda like hacking.

Hope the devs realize it's the year 2021 and add options for you. I uninstalled my PS5 version because it was way too dark.

Play only inside the darkest of rooms, so your screen is bright in comparison

The one setting I have for that makes it look like a nuke went off, and the radiation gets closer as I adjust it higher. We need more options like other games have...

I've done that on the handheld Switch, but it still requires turning up the screen brightness (meaning the backlight, because it's a hardware setting, not an in-game setting) to max, which causes eye fatigue and headaches within literally a couple matches.

The game needs an in-game brightness slider, at least for consoles. Even on the same TV, there's a difference between the game's brightness on PS4 vs Switch. It's annoying that having a semi-consistent experience between platforms would require re-adjusting the TV each time.

Well not all TVs are the same. But yeah while I don't need it for my setup and would be nice to have that option in the menu somewhere.

I just hate how somepeople make the game look like dog turds to give themselves a "competitive edge" and then have the gall to say that it just looks nicer.

I can't even remember what the reason they gave back in the day was for not including a brightness option, I want to say something like preserving the horror aesthetic but wouldn't swear to it its been so long.

As any PC player who wants an advantage can do so with the filters that come with their graphics card, it seems like it would only be fair to include brightness settings for every format to level the playing field as much as possible; PC already have enough advantage with the control method and massive FPS difference.

Even some of their own Fog Whisperers use those filters and I would expect the game representatives to be happy with the game as the rest of us have to play it; and if they aren't then shouldn't that tell the team maybe it should be looked into?

Three things that would make an astronomical difference to us console player is the FPS\optimisation being fixed, more controller options for acceleration\dead zone, and brightness\graphics options so we can get the game looking and running in a comfortable way.

That would massively improve the whole console experience and shouldn't be a big deal to implement, providing they spend some time improving the huge amounts of content they already have rather than spending all their time and resources adding even more new things on top of the insane amount of content this game now has.
