Huge mmr gap
Can someone explain this to me?
If not I would like a refund on my game!

Grades have 0 to do with mmr. Grades are just time played in a month

They seriously need to make this more obvious for people.
I see tons of them thinking grades are ranks still.

Grades are just time played for that month for BP reward.

You literally cannot post a screenshot of MMR gaps, because MMR isn't displayed in-game.

Maybe he's a new player and he got that matched against him. Which isn't anything new with this game but would be nice if we can see his devotion level though.

Nice to see people actually using the “did you have fun” thing.

I am referring to the 1k+ hrs rank 1 premade I had to deal with.

Then why did I get ######### on so badly by these people?
0 -
Because they are better than you.
Also maps, spawns, tiles are all broke as #########.

Replace grade with survivor portrait. Such a simple fix.

Are you a new player? This definitely can happen and I tested it myself.
I was just saying that grades are not connected to mmr.
If you are indeed new they either lowered their mmr to bully new killers or sbmm (mmr) is messed up.
Also even if you are experienced killer, it is a tough role currently.

I literaly have 60 hrs in this game why did I got matched against them?

I don't work here I just read here.

Hours and grade are both not factored in when it comes to matchmaking. The only thing that currently matters is kills vs escapes: they may have had a hook streak, or you may have had a kill streak, or both.

It happens sometimes. There are supposed to be 'floors' and 'ceilings' to the matchmaker to ensure you don't get horrible matchups because an SWF was waiting for a long time, but...yeah. It evidently doesn't always work as intended.
A few possibilities:
- A high ranked SWF team got to the grade they wanted, then smurfed their MMR down (you can't lose grades) to easily farm the next one, to look better on stream or just to be jerks. There isn't much you can do about this aside from dodging obvious SWF lobbies with fancy/legacy skins (these are also often hackers if they are PC players - just dodge).
- Either you or your opponents have been waiting for a long time, and the floors/ceilings didn't work.
- You are playing a killer you haven't for a while. From what I understand, the MMR of your killers resets after 3 weeks of inactivity, and the next time you play assigns you a new MMR pegged slightly below your best killer. If you're really good with one killer, you can wind up getting slaughtered on your others.
- Lastly, sometimes SBMM just seems entirely disabled for the period of an evening or so. You'll notice that suddenly your queues are instant. If so, you either get to enjoy a trip to the Wild West, or you take a break.

As I point out in my recent Maths Response. Out of the last 2300 games I have played at all 3 MMR levels the chances of facing a team this good is always 16.5% or 1.6% per game you play. At this point this seems like the intended game design. Based upon the sample size I have. Of note, 2 thousand games is a excellent sample size. Most peer reviewed papers have sample sizes in the 30's. So to answer your question. It is intended game design that at all levels of MMR ELO will face a team this good 16 out of every 100 games as killer no matter your personal ELO.

I am honestly very confused by people who still insist that grades have nothing to do with skill or even old ranks. The old emblem system is still in place as far as grades go, and you CAN still de-pip. You just cannot revert to a lower grade once you reach a new grade level.
People who reach Grade 1 still have to get 12 match points per pip (not counting double pips) to traverse from Grade 4 to Grade 1. If you escape, your MMR will go up, and you will go against harder opponents. Even if the MMR is completely black and white with regards to kills/escapes, you cannot easily get 12 match points without escaping, unless you purposely try to do exactly that for some reason.
Hence you cannot just brute force your way to Grade I through sheer playtime alone. There is still a good amount of skill involved (not to mention you are also guaranteed to improve through the time you put in), and with every Iri grade your perfomance has to be reasonable enough to guarantee those 12 match points needed to advance.

Because grades are not used by matchmaking. Matchmaking is using an hidden number to match you with other people of a similar number.
You can have games where you pip up and die (lose mmr) and you can have games where you depip and escape (gain mmr).

Grades don't make any sense to exist, especially seeing as we already have a Devotion system to show play time. All it leads to is confusion for players.
What should have been done from the beginning is to show MMR, attach ranks to MMR and apply rewards for that instead of grades. The game is currently basically showing you systems that are meaningless and not showing you the systems that do matter.

MMR is not related to your grade whatsoever.
the grade just resembles your overall playtime in a month and is not used for matchmaking purposes.

Same for me

Ok the starting mmr is kind of high up there for a new player. I would say just keep playing and look at outside sources for help this game doesn't explain enough still

I'd love to be able to see my own MMR and the MMR of my opponents.
1 -
Same. I'd like to see who was SWF as well even if it's just in the post game lobby so can accurately gauge my expectations of how well I should have done.

Thing is it will never be able to explain enough because of how fast they keep adding new things; every few months there's another 3-6 perks to have to know about or they affect you without you even knowing what to look for.
