An Apology to Killers; Plus: No Shame No More No Way

A bit of background. Been playing since Halloween, but played Survivor exclusively until about two weeks ago, maybe three, finally started playing killer.

I used to get enraged about camping and tunneling as a survivor, until I started playing killer. Now I get it, and now I owe an apology to all those killers for my saltiness. But today really drove it home for me.

So this has happened about 6 games in the last two weeks for me... and then very nearly every match today. The entire team swarms in when I'm trying to hook someone, ducking below my field of vision, blocking my path to a hook, and I end up losing them. sometimes. When I first saw the survivor team do this, I murdered them - but this was at a much worse rank than what I am now. Today, I got at most two sacs, and sometimes none at all, as they kept blocking me over and over.

I'm assuming I need to look down to swing at them? Because I cant seem to connect otherwise? Also I'm assuming most of these people are SWF as they seem to coordinate their defenses against hooking?

Anyway, in sheer frustration at this, I've determined two things:
1. i think for awhile I may run a lot of Agitation+Iron Grasp.
2. I'm never going to feel shame ever again for camping and tunneling. God this has been infuriating. I remember hearing about survivors bullying killers, and I thought that wasn't possible. Now I get it.

So how do you defend against this tactic?

Yeah you gotta look at survivors if they're body blocking to hit them. When I first started playing killer, like you I use to play only survivor but after reaching rank 1 I switched to killer. I started with leatherface and no one would body block. Otherwise it would be a GG since they'd all be downed.

Yeah, I just purchased leatherface yesterday to start working towards teachable BBQ & Chili, but using him to dissuade such tactics did cross my mind!

Of course, they can still body block you when you are carrying, since you cant use the chainsaw, correct?

Anyway, I'm going to start looking at the ground from now on, when heading for a hook, and run agitation + iron grip until I get used to hitting those bastards on the ground lol

Press R and pull out your chainsaw. You can probably down all of them at that point.

yeah, but I'll have to level legion to 35, and I really don't like legion, and hate the idea of spending the BPs. Of course, I suppose I could get lucky and see it come up on the Shrine of Secrets, but there's no guarantee that will happen anytime soon.

Then again, I have to admit, I am interested in his other perks too, even if I dont like Legion him/herself. So I suppose it might be worthy to siphon off some BP to level him up for the teachables here and there.

Dead by Daylight is a game where playing the survivors is less stressful than playing the killer. That should not be the case.

I haven't had an issue with people blocking the hook. Sometimes you'll get smurfs who will green rush, teabag, run you around in circles, and then go "gg ez" at the end, but that's the worse I've come across. Baby Nurse also has it rough. I honestly don't care if people block the hook.

If your team sucks, that is often the opposite. There's more people needed for the survivor role, though. I don't think we actually wanna make it too unappealing and stressful. It should be fun for both sides

Try to get multiple hits before you pick someone up, and always know where your hooks are. It's very risky to block hits for a carried survivor, as eating even one hit can set the survivors back considerably. All it takes is one sloppy block to get them downed very quickly after the hook. I literally just had this occur in a Legion game I wasn't doing particularly well with him (still learning, plus mostly rank 1 meh perks).

Someone blocked a hit, attempted to do it again, but crashed into a car while trying to 360 and went down. Immediately, this shifted the entire match back into my favor, and ultimately a 4K.

This game isn't stressful at all for me. If this game stresses you out maybe you're playing it wrong.
