Can we get rid of rifts?
Can we just get rid of rifts? They are completely pointless as the only exclusive parts are the charms which no one cares for. The only ones I ever cared for were licensed. So Left 4 Dead. Other than that they are just a waste of resources. The skins come out shortly after and even the ones people paid for on the paid track after being resold but now in the store are just available for shards now which is kinda dumb. Makes the entire major point of the rifts... Pointless!

Do you wanna pay 10$ for every skin that releases after? Or 10$ once and you get all that content? I'll take the rifts thanks.

But I like getting basically free cosmetics every few months
I bought the first rift and haven't spent a penny on it since
26 -
If you complete rift you also get that $10 back.
15 -
Yeah and that's the #1 reason i buy the rift.
13 -
To be fair, I couldn't care less about charms and I'm only mildly interested in the skins. But I still like doing the Rifts because I like having the extra pseudo-daily mission and I like the journal entries they unlock.
5 -
I like rifts but the fact that they are ALL CHARMS!!! pisses me off quite a lot. We did a survey between tome 2 and 3 asking what we want in the rift.
So far ABSOLUTELY NOTHING has changed in what's in the rift.

It is good for people who finish rifts. Too good actually.
I don't finish them all tho.
And I like how they put the cosmetics later so you can buy them with shards also even if it is payed stuff.

Charms are trash IMO and I don't equip them at all; they'd probably impact performance on consoles more than I would ever look at the tiny useless things.
Nothing makes me sadder than 1 or 2 parts of a set being locked to the paid track, cosmetics for characters I never play, and 70 levels just to get the 3 parts of the 1 free cosmetic which is often just a trash recolour like Fengs Mime skin in the Rift currently.
Trash recolors should take the place of Charms on the free track, there should be more than 1 decent cosmetic (often for a charaxcter you don't play) on the free track, and special looking sets should be the premium track reward.
Of course that wont happen though as they can give away Charms instead, and charge more than multiple DLCs for 1 set cosmetic in the store.
People don't like it being compared to EA but this looks an awful lot like the Apex Legends store and battlepass (though even that has some really cool stuff on the free track), and even that is a free to play game unlike DbD.

10 dolla dolla bills yall that you get back for completing the Rift. I know other people already said this, but it bears repeating because the fact that anyone is against Rifts means that we need some intense re-education here on da forums.
3 -
It’s nice to get early access to cosmetics than to have to wait 6 months later to pay with shards.
4 -
Why even get rid of optional content? Even if you don't want to pay for the Premium track, just do the challenges to get some extra BP and earn free skins.
3 -
The only problem with the rifts are too many charms. I feel like I would never even use 1% of them. Basically I just equip the newest iri charms to show off for a bit, like anyone cares, and then I go right back to the charms I favor.
It needs to have more cosmetics, mori animations, shards, new emotes, etc.
3 -
I agree, I need to see Bubba dab. Make it happen, Behavior.
4 -
I like having the Rifts. It gives me something to work towards. There's no need for the cosmetics in them to be exclusive. Not being exclusive doesn't make the cosmetics worth less, I'm still getting a bunch of cosmetics for having paid $10 once for the first Rift and that's all. It's not pointless: it gives players the option to earn some skins through gameplay, but it kindly doesn't force them to nor does it punish people who miss out.
7 -
while I don’t care for the lore entries and over 90 % of the charms I very much like the rifts for the cosmetics (which don’t get released shortly after to the store but at least 6 months after and actually pretty much always way longer)
More rewards to fill in the blanks would be nice though. Shards, BPs for the beginning. Maybe new customization pieces like lobby backgrounds, music if they ever make them customizable.

So, since skins released in a Rift come out in the store later the whole Rift is pointless? What reasoning is that? Buying a Rift is much cheaper than buying the skins from the store when they come out..
I bought 1100 Auric Cells in November 2019. I managed (for now) to unlock 8 Rifts with those, and the 9th is on the way.
1100 Auric Cells. For all the cosmetics included in 8 premium Rift tracks. It's the same price of a single outfit in the store.
Plus ehy, don't like the Rift? Don't do it, noone forces you to. Feel free to grind the same amount of playtime required to finish the Rift in order to be able to buy 1 outfit with Shards.

I would love to see improvements for the Rift system, but I hope that they don't remove it.
I just... wish that there was more equality between the Free Rift and the Premium Rift. I'm fine with the amount in the Premium Rift, but the Free Tracks feel so barren.
3 -
Some can't take them when they for some reason take half of your entire life to just get halfway done.
0 -
I'd rather just have the skin released normally with shards.
1 -
But why do you have to pay to then earn? That concept never made sense to me. You have to earn stuff anyway but then you pay to just earn more again? I feel like the amount of skins you get in the rift is just the amount you should get for $10 period in the game without having to grind after already paying.
0 -
If only I did actually get my $10 back. Sadly you don't. If I was able to I would be buying other things after.
0 -
You get 1,000 back. Not $10. It would be great to truly get $10 back. But the amount of stuff you get in the rift is what you should get bare minimum for your $10 in DBD in general.
0 -
You can earn then pay if you complete the rift and get you ac's back too.
1 -
You're right, the rift costs less than $10 so it's an even better deal. You only use 1000 of the 1100 auric cells you get with $10 to unlock the premium pass and if you get to level 69 you get all 1000 auric cells back to either repeat with next rift OR you can use in the store on something else.
Didn't you make a post the other day asking for BHVR to give you Stranger Things cosmetics for free? This post here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/293946/could-you-just-give-away-the-stranger-things-content/p1. The rift has free cosmetics on the free track and on the premium track while you need to use 1000 auric cells to unlock you get all those back essentially making those free as well. For someone wanting BHVR to give out free cosmetics it seems odd you would want to get rid of something that gives you plenty of free cosmetics by just playing the game.
4 -
Or you could just... not do them. You are not forced to do them so... don't.
3 -
I only read "I want things for free, if they are not, remove them".

There is an audience for rifts, and I imagine it’s a large one. Personally I enjoy them because they add extra challenges & give us other objectives to aim for. Whenever I’m in a trial and the game is going sour, if I complete a hard one in the process- I take solace in that. It makes the loss/terrible trial that much more bearable.
Cosmetics is really what keeps me playing this game, otherwise I would have left a long time ago. I appreciate charms and the early access skins. The eye candy helps me to deal with frustrating games.
4 -
I don't pay to earn. I put in 1000 auric cells after I reached level 70 on the first Rift, and I got a whole bunch of cosmetics and charms and also immediately got all my cells back. Then, for the next Rift, after I reached level 70, I did it again. That's how it's always been. I've never paid to earn. If I decide I want to stop doing the Rift and buy cosmetics with those cells instead, I can.
I've gotten eight Rifts' worth of cosmetics for one $10 payment. And I'd love to always get that much in-game stuff for just $10. All of us would love more stuff for less money, hell yeah.
6 -
I only play for rift challenges lately so if anything, I want more
6 -
But they get released normally later on…
2 -
Paying a tenner for every rift cosmetic ever (since let's face it, you'll be playing the game anyway), or paying 15 quid per cosmetic.
I wonder which is the better deal
2 -
The Rift is fine. It's Charms that need to be deleted.
0 -
Omg Trina 😂
1 -
The charms are pointless.
0 -
You pay $10 for your first rift and then it pays for itself. The challenges you can use to bank bloodpoints for chapter releases, and it actually feels rewarding unlike the main game does.
Um... I'll keep it thanks.
1 -
Why removing them? the charms of the free version are usually trash with some exceptions, but there are nice free cosmetics, the butterfly plague is top tier and the gothic Feng is so cute for example.
0 -
It's basically the same exact thing. You pay to earn before or just pay after. Still paying for the sa.e stuff and it takes the same amount of time.
0 -
It's exactly $10. What do you mean? $5/500 + $5/500 = $10./1000. Costs 1000. It's $10.
For the Stranger Things post it's a different reason. I don't want free cosmetics. I just wanted those specific ones. The rift isn't free.
0 -
Not really a bad thing if you get your cells back. Also you get tons of cosmetics.
Much better than grinding 100 levels worth of shards for a single set.
0 -
Great. Wait I don't see a button for that... Looks like I am forced.
0 -
Clearly you know what I mean.
0 -
Just don't look at the rift and ignore it's existence. Magic.
1 -
Yeah a ton of cosmetics which you should get for your $10 anyways in general. Up front to. How do games make full on story DLCs foe even $5 bucks and DBD is giving you a wheelchair full of charms which no one cares for and like a few cool skins depending on the type of person. And you HAVE to earn them. No matter what. Getting your cells back obviously isn't a bad thing. It's not that big of a deal though. You get 1 skin back
0 -
Personally I like the charms and this rift has actually been worthwhile to play and purchase the track for. Also, it doesn't really matter if people get the cosmetics after the rift is gone.
0 -
The charms are generally worthless, but it's awesome getting cosmetics for characters I do play, but not enough to buy cosmetics for, and I really like the lore. They encourage me to try out new characters and new perks, and I only have to pay $10 once to get all the content from every rift afterward? Heck no. Keep the rifts. Rifts are great.
0 -
Maybe make a community challenge instead for ya know... Community cosmetics? Something more fun.
0 -
I'm talking about the rifts. Not challenges. The challenges are fine. The rift is my main problem.
0 -
actually no, I don’t.
1 -
Release the skins normally and not at all in the rift?
0 -
If you ignore the rift (as you can easily go) that’s how it goes. And clearly there are many people that enjoy the rift with the challenges and rewards. No reason to take that away.
