Is there any point in using hex perks now?
Hex’s were always cleansed early by good survivors anyway but now with Boons, it’s even worse what with survivors hungrier than ever to find those totems
I just played a killer game with a full hex build
- Ruin
- Undying
- Thrill of the Hunt
- Haunted Grounds
literally all gone within 1-2 minutes
by the time I downed the first survivor (who’d just finished blessing the first totem) which was pretty quick to be fair, it was a really short chase. By the time I hooked him 2 more boons were up, followed by another one shortly after and that was it…1 gen done, one hook and I’d already lost all of my perks for the entire game
I feel at this point it’s just a waste of a perk slot using hex’s, especially with everyone and their mother bringing maps and boons into every game
I just wish the devs would revert the Thrill of the Hunt nerf so you actually get notified again when someone is working on a Hex totem, killers could at least try and defend them then

I wouldn't use more than one hex tbh. Might as well play perkless if you go full hex.

For some reason, I feel as though this would have happened even without the existence of boon perks, you can't run 5 hexes and somehow expect them to miraculously stay up all game. The more hexes you run, the more survivors are going to try and find them.

2 hexs top with undying being one of them never 4 that is your fault for getting greedy.

Thrill of the Hunt could be a base perk which would make it a boon counter and a hex buff

I genuinely don't think hexes are in a worse spot right now than they were before boons were added. They already got broken within a minute of the game starting for the most part, it's hard to get worse than that with new mechanics.
There's definitely no point to running a full hex build, and there hasn't been for a while unless you want to try for some goofy gimmick build. One or two hexes can still kind of work out if you're lucky, though.

The problem was the Undying nerf.
This was specifically targeted at the Ruin+Undying combo, but rather than doing the intuitively correct thing (adjusting Ruin - which honestly wasn't even that much of a threat in high level play - people just powered through it) they nerfed Undying, and by extension all hex play.
The only hexes I use now are Plaything+Retribution. Devour Hope if I'm feeling lucky, sometimes NOED if I'm feeling cheesy. The latter two are rare now, and yes - between survivors knowing where all the totems live now and the Undying nerf, hexplay sucks.
There is definitely a direct incentive now to check all the totem spots even on teams that might not always have done so.

It's the risk of running Hexes in the first place
But instead of being cleansed... they will get Blessed

I usually run an all Hex build on my Wraith but that's just because it's a meme build that is purposefully designed to allow Survivors control of what perks I can use. I've had games ranging from all of them going down in 2 minutes or less to all 4 being up which gave me complete dominance in the match. If you go in with all Hex, treat it as if you're just throwing the match and have fun.

I'm just baffled why Boon perks can be re-blessed with impunity when Hex perks are a one-and-done deal. Yes, Hex perks are significantly more impactful; but they should be. It's a 1v4. Got to love it when Ruin and Undying are popped, leaving you with just 2 perks to go up against the combined 16 perks that survivors have at their disposal.

Haunted Grounds/Undying/Devour Hope/NOED on Wraith is fun lol

Using 1 Hex force survivors to find that one Hex of 5 totems. You can usually see totems lay around, but only 1 of them is Hex.
Using full Hex, expect them to see every totem is a Hex. Especially there are always at least 2 totems being out of nowhere.

By all means STOP using them.
