In my opinion, almost every killer should be balanced around the A tier, or even the S tier.
When I say "almost every", I don't mean every killer. It depends on how much skill the killer takes. For instance, killers with lower skill floors but with higher skill caps, such as Wraith and Clown, should be balanced around high B tier, no lower. Killers with higher skill floors, such as Pinhead, should be balanced around the A tier.
A tier killers are able to withstand SWF, while still being fair for solo queue, such as old Billy base-kit wise and Huntress. S tier killers, such as Blight and Spirit, also count depending on the perks and add-ons they use.
Of course, it would be a bit difficult (probably an exaggeration) to start off with the whole killer-balancing thing due to flawed map design balance-wise. Not to mention the misery of going against these killers should also be analyzed.

yeah.
that's true.
or, at least aiming for A tier.
6 -
It would be nice if that were the case.

I mean, if every Killer was A-tier, then you'd just have A-F tier within A tier.
I get what you're saying, Killers should be stronger in general, but if we want to have diverse Killers with diverse powers then there is always going to be tiers.

I wasn't being specific on that part. I meant balancing killers around old Billy and Huntress, two killers the majority of the community agree are A tier killers.

This image fits this post super well.
I'm going to see myself out.

I feel Billy is more like C/B tier these days

Old Billy, not current Billy. I would say current Billy is B tier, which is not the state he should be in because of his high skill floor and cap.

Oh sorry, I missed the old

While I love this statement it does not apply to this game. Right now we have sooooooooo many killers that are flat out weak that we need to start making more supers.
2 -
Glitch and I know each other and it was so obviously a joke that I'm shocked you think I'm against buffing certain weaker killers because of it
2 -
1 single picture does not get your message across. The picture in fact makes it seem like you are against the idea of buffing weaker killers because "when everyone is super, no one will be". It might make sense in your head but that doesn't mean it makes sense to everyone else.

Assuming there are 5 tiers (S, A, B, C, D), I think survivors should be balanced around high C to low A tier killers.
The D/low C killers are super underwhelming to play and rely on survivors being super average to get kills, while high A/S killers usually have something very oppressive on their kits that make especially the average casual survivor miserable. The killers in the middle of the pack usually feel fair to face and to play.
Balance survivors around high C to low A, then buff/nerf the outlier killers. Right now, especially with MMR and things like Boons, survivor seems balanced around S tier unfortunately.

That's a great argument in a vaccum but you've seen me on the forums for 13k posts and this meme format has been used everywhere um
1 -
every Killer should feel oppressive in chases with a Survivor.
thats the whole point of a 4v1 game.
changes like the recent Deathslinger nerf are the exact opposite of what we actually need, if we truly wanted to balance this game.

I think 2 survs should start hooked also

Just because you have 13k posts does not mean I should know who you are. Also someone should not have to read your statements on previous threads to understand your response. You wrote a bad message.
3 -
I'm not sure about S tier but A tier I agree.
2 -
I fully believe all of the lower tier killers would be at least B tier if every map was the size of coal tower. Also the devs keep creating anti-looping powers rather than mobility ones which I think is bad.
If they make maps smaller and stop creating killers that basically make looping impossible for 95% of the player base then the game would be in a much better state. At the very least add some sort of teleportation or something to let killers traverse the map better.

The only way you could take this seriously is if you hadn't been on the Internet within the past decade.

I agree, somewhat.
The problem is that this is a very difficult game to balance.
Pinhead wrecks low-level solo que but has a rough time against higher MMR groups. Nurse, on the other hand has abysmal kill rates because she's so incredibly hard to learn, but is considered 'S' tier.
You want to ideally make sure every killer is viable at high MMR but also not a complete monster at low MMR. In the same vein, they need to be easy enough not to be a miserable learning experience but not too easy. But that's...honestly nearly impossible.
I do wish that BHVR would come out and tell us exactly what their design mandates are and how they want this game to be balanced. Right now, there is a dissonance between 'we are nerfing Pinhead/Wraith because they are too strong at the low end' and 'we won't be buffing Nurse because she'd break high MMR gameplay'.

the reason i said what i said is because me and EvilJoshy have interacted several times before lol

No offence intended lol. Just made me laugh 😁

Just had to double check lol

The larger issue to me is many maps are simply too big. Shrink those first, then see what buffs certain killers might need.
2 -
A tier at minimum. I’d even argue most A tiers are not viable against equally skilled top tier survivors. S tier is where the killers actually have a somewhat fair chance of winning in a match of equal skill. I agree the main premise of the post though.
1 -
Yeah skill ceiling is the main thing here. Killers like trickster imo should never be meta due to their ease of use. Even my own main clown shouldn’t be more than B tier imo due to his relatively low skill floor
2 -
With MMR there's no reason they shouldn't be. A killer who requires skill to play, but with the ability for someone who is really good to do really well with them. Probably a difficult thing to create.
0 -
How much skill to play a killer should be mostly irrelevant to how well they can perform.
The Nurse is the exception but she always is.
If the only killers who stand a chance in fair games are the insanely hard killers then the game WILL FAIL and we have a long history of games failing because of this...Just look at the entire arena shooter genera to see why.

Yeah I agree. Maps like Haddonfield and Mother's Dwelling should be rebalanced and sized down at the same time. Maps should be sized to Coal Tower at the very most. Most maps in general need a rebalance.
1 -
I agree. Killers should be strong and Honestly Blight should be the standard of how a killer should be. Strong but fair.
I just hope that when making and balancing killers you consider both sides not just one.
1 -
It's should be the game is a 4v1 but survivors need there hand held.
0 -
At the very least they should all be B tier or above, and yet we still have C and D tier killers. Don't think anybody is bad enough that I would call them F tier currently at least.
0 -
I would say once they tone down the Ruin Undying Tinkerer combo (probably by making Tinkerer activate once per generator), they'll be able to start from there.
1 -
The fault of this reasoning is that tier lists are completely arbitrary and made up by the community.
0 -
As I said before, killers should specifically be balanced around old Billy, Huntress, and maybe even S tier killers such as Blight and current Spirit. The A tier part wasn't specific.
0 -
I don't mind having strong killers and weak killers, but I get where this is coming from.
1 -
Every Killer should be Spirit tier
