This game is a worthless mess that'll never change.
I just played 15 games as killer without meta perks and it highlighted EVERYTHING that is wrong with this game.
Survivors get their hands held too much. I mean seriously, the devs have put zero thought into balancing this game from the start, perks are so lopsided. Survivor perks don't take into account the fact that they can have 16 perks in a game that can all work together and the killer is only allowed 4 perks that don't even take the 1v4 into account. Majority of your community has to be carried by perks because you use perks as an excuse to be lazy and not change what's really wrong.
Maps that DREADFULLY need reworks haven't received any or they received terrible reworks. The swamps, haddonfield, Gideons, Preschool, etc. They heavily favor survivors, ESPECIALLY Gideons, I mean ######### were they thinking when they reworked that.
6 of my games had a cheater/s in them, and blatant ones at that. 3 of the matches had the same exact person, one of which had a second hacker in it. Now I know there's some people out there who'll think "They weren't hacking, just get gud". True, but how about you also tell the guys who were outrunning bloodlust tier 3 to go touch some grass. All of them were rank one too (Wonder how they got there) Guess you should start looking at your top players BHVR, chances are you're balancing this dumpster fire around hackers. Imagine Minecraft having a better anti cheat than you guys do.
Stop wasting your time, the devs don't care and they never will. This game will never be balanced. Only way for this game to be balanced is to start over again and get a new team behind it because from where I'm standing, this roller coaster only goes down.

Don't hold back now, tell us how you really feel.
What are you still doing here, man? If I felt this way about any game I'd stop playing it in a heartbeat, I don't fully understand the mindset behind feeling this way but still sticking around to make posts on a forum dedicated to the game.

Hope that the devs might listen and things will change?
Also, bloody-minded spite is a great motivator for doing something.

Good lord, I hope that first part isn't it, this is the literal worst possible method you could employ to achieve that goal.

The game is not worthless and can still be saved.
Just not by BHVR.
DBD needs someone who knows what has to be done.

I am not wasting time. I only play survivor and tombstone piece Myers these days.

There there *pats you on the head*

I mean, it's been obvious for years now that the game is balanced around perks and the enjoyment of survivors. If you really aren't enjoying the game, stop playing it, even if only for a week, take a breather. You could also stop being passionate about it, if the passion is making you hate it.
The thing that keeps me coming back to dbd is the fun and goofy times I have with friends playing survivor and learning new unknown-techs to do with every killer and as survivor.
Maybe try enjoying the experience again?

There are very few high mmr killers on this forum so you won't get decent support.

I have, I played Artist once on the ptb and took a break till today. I tried finding enjoyment again by not sweating like I'm in the damn Sahara but I couldn't. Hackers and the terrible inbalance of the game has ruined any enjoyment for me.
I remember a time when I was playing Michael on the swamp, 1 person dead 3 gens left. I went over to a gen that I knew someone was working on but they weren't in sight, so I stopped and waited. I heard them crunching sticks as they adjusted their position behind a rock about 6 seconds after I stopped moving. If I tried doing that same exact thing again now, I would have lost a generator and another would be at 60%.
I almost did a full loop around a map at the start of a match and a generator was already at 75%. Where's the fun if the games go by like nothing.

It sounds stupid; but between the 8-10 hooks, 2k match that tense and close, everyone has alot of fun; and those match that killer 2 hooks, 2k by camping with Noed where no one has fun. Is the reason why "the mess" works for this game
If the game always have similar outcome, it would be boring after times.
With "the mess", you keep playing and hope there will be a "tense, close fun" matches.

Amen. RIP DBD.

just drop your mmr
if both side knowing how to play than system "should" favor survivors
if killer can all kill because they skilled enough
its worthless match for a survivors like pre-nerfed nurse

be honest you don't really care how much fun a killer can have as a survivor
because you and i knowing fast gen can piss off the killer, and it's fun just to imagine it

It's not easy to drip your MMR as killer because there are so fewer killers now that low MMR killers are getting pared with SWF hit squads. Almost every of my games have 3man SWFs and I lost 4 games in a row with no hooks or kills. MMR has ruined the game....I'd rather have the old rank system and that was a messy but somewhat working system.

Yeah I do feel you there, current dbd is very chase heavy but chases cripple killers due to poor objective : chase ratio. I do think there need to be core additions added to reward a killer progressing towards their objective. After Injuring or downing a fresh survivor, all generators get blocked for 7ish seconds. That way the gens won't go by as quick for doing well in chases or at least juggling the team well. Just stuff like that would make it way more pleasant for killer. And nerf the survivor meta too

The fact that at high rank, anything can happen, whether you play killer or survivor means it's pretty close to balanced.

🙄 here we go again

It really shouldn't. There's more survivors than there are killer and there's more survivor perks than there are killer perks. The game should be in the killers favor, but obviously not to the point that it's completely over bearing and unwinnable for the survivors.

I agree with your post. I also thought that this game needs to be created again from ground up with a new engine to eliminate all bugs and glitches. For this, they would probably have to double or even triple the amount of employees currently working at BHVR. A separate team would have to work remaking this game from ground up while another team would constantly push patches/DLCs and work on the current version of the game.
We should also have casual/ranked mode in this game and be able to vote for maps. Before the match begins, all survivors plus the killer votes for a map.
DbD used to be a slow paced game before 2018. Hiding was a part of the game. Now everything, everywhere is bright and you're constantly forced to be in a chase. That's why first survivor to go down 15 seconds within the beginning of a match immediately disconnects because it is not fun. But we also have to understand that the killer is on a timer and the sooner they get a down early in the game, the more they can secure an easy win/more bloodpoints.
This is sadly the current state of the game.

I know the devs don't care. There have been plenty games that had devs that didn't care. They only care about the money the game makes. Survivors buy more cosmetics because there are more survivor players and more survivor cosmetics. Killers like Freddy and Myers will never get more cosmetics while Dwight and Claudette will continue to get holiday onesies and crap. It all boils down to money and that's why the game is survivor friendly.

Tombstone has been fun for me.

The door is wide open, and may i suggest some anger management..

Yap. It is easy to get some kills without bothering with hooking much. At least when you keep your mmr in check and let 2 people go often. If you get some toxic ones you can also go for 4k since you can delete someone pretty fast.
I use corrupt, monitor, bamboozle and discordance. First three are must for me but 4th perk is whatever. Sneak up for stalks and kill with tp+jmm.
I have yet to not get a single kill, I don't think it is possible with my approach.
I know it is not "fun" for others but at least they can move on to the next game, I am not camping them. I can relax and play like a horror character that way.
Hooking is like a job to me atm. Played a lot like that before but I need a break, and this is one when I don't want to play survivor all the time. And it feels good.

Corrupt and ruin is a must if you ever pair Judith with infinite.
0 -
I don't play with Judith or infinite. Just tp and jmm.
Tombstone piece has no speed penalty, I rather use some info perks instead.

I just pop 3 behind them like I do with normal Myers but yeah pwyf would also work well.
0 -
I don’t use that perk much. Is it any good?
0 -
Yeah, i wish the game was bought by a bigger company :(

You never know, they could make it worse. At least Behavior is a known variable. I genuinely feel a lot of the criticism directed at them is not the most constructive and I heavily prefer how they handle this game compared to how Activision handles, well... Any of their games. Call of Duty and Overwatch were the ones I have personally been let down by.

i think the best part about OP's post is that they say "[this game is a] rollercoaster that only goes down"
you do know how rollercoasters work, right? because that sounds rad
