What if Pig's Ambush Attack broke pallets?

Just another random idea I had. What if Pig's Ambush Attack could break pallets and breakable walls?

Heck I'd just like to see her ambush actually function as anti-loop..as intended..before even getting to pallet break stuff. Her ambush has been garbage since release.

It's more effective to fake it than it is to actually use it which is hilarious in its own right

We don't need another pallet breaking ability that gets eaten by Dead Hard T_T

really? I had no idea it was supposed to be anti-loop. I've only ever used it for, well, ambushing.

try pretending to lose chase at a jungle-gym, entering stealth, and then watching them predrop the pallet and go right into you.

"try pretending to lose chase at a jungle-gym, entering stealth, and then watching them predrop the pallet and go right into you."

The problem with this is it gives them a sound notification of you crouching which means as soon as you do that I will be insta leaving the loop. You will then uncrouch and chase after me but in doing that crouch you will have given me enough time to get to the next loop. Rinse and repeat.

The primary issue with her crouch/ambush is that it gives too much information to the survivor. I know exactly when you're crouching and I get a long heads up from the roar that you're ambushing. 9/10 times you are better off just uncrouching and going for the m1. That's bad design.

Her crouch being so slow and low to the ground makes it also really hurt your map pressure.

Pig has a better ambush game by uncrouching and stabbing the normal way. Her ambush power has too long of a wind-up time and alerts the survivor very early in its charge.

Ambush can be used at short loops; you locate yourself at the pallet and then swing around one side. The survivor has to guess which way you're coming or leave the loop. Wraith used to be able to do this before the lunge nerf, and he was arguably better at it.

Otherwise, it's largely useless in chase.

I mean, with it literally being called an 'Ambush', I highly doubt it's meant as an anti-loop.

That said, I would much prefer for her to start her roar the moment her charge actually begins, as opposed when charging it. That never made sense to me anyway.

Just a thought: I was thinking that instead of breaking the pallet, she could benefit from being able to jump the pallet during an Ambush like the Legion. I used to think it would be unfair to take that bit of uniqueness from them, but with how many Killers now can break the pallet in some way, I don't think "jump the pallet" benefits from being unique anymore. Her ambush attack as-is isn't even good on most loops IMO and gets rekt by pre-dropping the pallet.

It would still suck and would be very unoriginal. Blight, demo, oni, billy, bubba, and nemesis already do that.

Now that I’m thinking about it, inflicting Deep Wound with he Ambush would be thematic and a bit of a buff. Deep Wound is obviously mainly just additional slow down, but that’s ok. If she needs a buff at all it’s only a minor one probably, just something to make using Ambush more worthwhile compared to just doing a basic footchase out of stealth.

    Honestly this sounds fair.

    Nemesis can break pallets.

    Billy can break pallets.

    Bubba can break pallets.

    Blight can break pallets.

    Demogorgon can break pallets.

Time to give Pig the same treatment.

Personally, I think that's a more dangerous buff to give her than one would think. Being able to force a Survivor with active Traps to mend more than once can be frustrating for said Survivor without the need to explicitly hard tunnel them.

Possibly, although obviously it only works on healthy survivors. Injured ones just go down so wouldn’t take the Deep Wound.

If it was too much of a buff, though, it could pause the Head Trap timer while the survivor has a Deep Wound.

Eh, it'd be a buff, but I don't think it's the one she needs. Deep Wound only matters if you don't commit to a chase, and Pig doesn't have the map mobility to be an effective hit-and-runner. Her stealth mode is too slow - she can't do what Wraith can do. Even Ghostface can do a better job on this front than she can despite being built as a one-hit downer.

Pig needs improved chase power or improved stealth mode. More than anything, she needs to move faster while crouched; 90% is too slow to be feasible when roaming around looking for survivors, and crouching once you've located someone doesn't work because they've already heard your TR and are on alert.

All of those characters are hulking dudes with chainsaws or literal monstrosities. I don't think it makes sense for Amanda "squeaks when you hit her with a pallet" Young to crash through a pallet with her switchblade.

Somebody suggested her being able to dive through windows during ambush earlier ITT, and I think that'd suit her way better.

Logic doesn't ALWAYS work. Why does a Legion add on destroy a pallet by vaulting it?

Because the Iridescent Button was molded by the Entity and thus has highly supernatural powers. :P

Honestly if Pig cant break pallet, its likely survivors will try to mind game and there is 50/50 chance you can hit them with ambush. If Pig can break pallet, the moment she sit, survivors would just W away. The worse part is pallet still stay there and not used.

I would make a Yellow addon where Pig Ambush can break pallet once she's out of RBT. That would bring total surprise to survivors.

Pig's ambush definitely needs a buff. The crouch speed is too slow/ the dash barely has any reach etc. In my opinion, you have two ways of reworking the ambush: make the dash break pallets (and increase her crouching speed and dash speed)... or you could make her dash an insta-down and keep the current stats (i'm a fan of the first suggestion way more: since the latter looks very toxic).

Not really the right direction for a Pig buff, but it could make for a cool add-on.
