Worst patch in Dead by Daylight history?
M M R
Do you think the puck is the reason why the number of visitors keeps dropping?
You must roll back to the previous ranking system. this is for sure

MMR really just reeks of them completely giving up on balancing matchmaking.
They took out a system which actually forced you to play well in a number of aspects, and as survivors contribute to the team in meaningful ways to rank up, and replaced it wtih "all that matters is escapes vs deaths," a stat any player can tell you has almost nothing to do with the actual skill of the individual who died.
On top of that they chose to hide it so we can't see where we actually stand, and I'm pretty sure only gave in and told us how it works because it got datamined anyway.

Something that bothers me is they've said that Hatch escapes are neutral / give no MMR but do moris still give a killer MMR gain from killing the survivors by their hand? I've yet to get an answer on this

Nothing will ever beat the tragedy that was "stuns in animation locks count as saving a survivor from yohr grasp"
I still have nightmares about that one
7 -
1) Pick up Flashlight
2) Just shine into killers head when he picks up someone at any time lol
3) gg ezi

I like MMR.
It forced a lot of players to realize the ugly truth about how they play the game.
- If you complain that all you have are nonstop bad Survivors, then you weren't that good or your MMR would have placed you higher.
- If you complain that all you get are tryhard sweatsquads, then as a Killer you got overly used to pubstomping.
- If you complain you see a ton of hackers, you know you are in high MMR.
People that liked the old system just enjoyed kicking around weaker players. That is all MMR has done - reduce the number of weaker players you face. And in the aftermath we just have a slew of "But what about my mad looping skillz there's more to skill than escaping reeeeee".
To which my response is "If your looping skills are that god tier, you should have zero problems breaking the killer's ankles and moonwalking out the exit gate every game. GG."
2 -
Or you get the people who are great at looping dropping down MMR to where they have no place being, just because they in particular aren't escaping.
Which is no fun for anybody.
1 -
Obviously it is fun for them. I guess. Whatever does it for you.
1 -
Not for everyone else they're playing with, though.
MMR where you can have your fun toying with someone and still get a loss to tank your MMR is not a good combo.
1 -
Couldn't you do that before, too? Make sure you die and never touch a gen, and stay in low ranks?
1 -
MMR has countless problems, obviously, but 3.1.0 and the infamous 1.9.2 will always be the worst Patches, imho.
1 -
5.0 RPD Map 🤮
1 -
Yea that is horrible because the killer is locked in a animation and cant do anything. Last night I was picking up a few survivors and as the animation started there was a flashlight sitting there ready.
0 -
Twins patch.
0 -
Atleast now they have to time it right.
In that patch they could blind you, run half a mile and then get the stun on you
0 -
They can still do that lol or stun lock you with a pallet then flashlight
0 -
I agree 1.9.2 was the worst for me. Old MoM is a close 2nd but I forget. What was 3.1.0?
0 -
MMR has been absolutely abysmal but I'm hesitant to call it the worst patch.
In terms of sheer #########-ness, that has to go to patch 1.9.2, which enabled you to stun a nurse mid-blink and rescue a survivor from the killer's grasp at any time during the animation.
However it was rolled back rather swiftly, thank god, which is why I'd say the Darkness Among Us patch (can't remember the exact number but I wanna say 2.4.0) was the worst one ever. In terms of how ######### it was, it wasn't as bad as 1.9.2, however it stuck around for so much longer and the overall impact of it's #########-ness was felt for such a long time.

3.1.0 was Freddy's rework, you can imagine how much I hate it.
4 -
But it doesn't drop the survivor if they mistime it.
I don't care about being blinded. I have ears. Not being able to pick up at pallets cause someone could drop a pallet at any time to force you to drop the survivor was the problem in that patch.
0 -
Buddy you have no idea of a REAL bad patch in dbd...
this patch feels more like heaven.
1 -
I thought Freddys rework was a good thing? I know that forever Freddy was lost but I do not miss having to put someone to sleep and wait 7 secs before you could do anything to them.
3 -
It would be logic for mori to give mmr and hatch to be neutral.
Mori survivor need to be on death hook before you can use the offering so all the work you did for youre down are still relevant.
Hatch escape you could just hide in a locker and wait for your team to die so you can escape with the hatch so you dont need to contribute to the match for an escape.
That probably why hatch dont give mmr.

It erased a killer from the game.
Ancient Freddy wasen't strong but there were people that enjoyed him
1 -
erasing seems to be on the rise lately. Got rid of old Freddy, removed Hawkins and they took away Demo pupper for any who didn't buy him already.
2 -
I mean hawkins and demodog atleast had a good reason.
Not the devs fault the licence wasen't renewed cause netflix has video game plans of their own
0 -
No, it was not.
That Patch ruined my main, turned the most unique killer into the most boring one, when one or two QoL adjustements and buffs would have sufficed.
I will never forgive BHVR for that.
1 -
I can agree with removing hawkins but I see no good reason to get rid of demo.
0 -
You do realise removing the stranger things dlc wasen't a choice right?
Netflix revoked the license.
Not being allowed to sell something by law or get sued into oblivion is a pretty good reason to not sell that thing

Theres a couple that could take this title
1.8.1
Truly was a time where the devs gave in and actually nerfed a killer because of the complaints, Freddy wasnt even close to being a strong killer and yet they still nerfed him just 1 week after his release
2.4.0
The release of Legion was the buggiest patch we've received at the time, being the first time they've ever had to disable a map. Not only that but Legion was the most unhealthy piece of garbage to date. Since then they have also made the decision to only play event music in the main menu screen
4.4.0
The Twins patch, 'nough said
4.5.0
Changes to the UI and animations, was also the visual update for the Gideon Meat Plant. I personally liked the animations but that UI was horrible, The Game also became more of an unbalanced mess than it was already
2 -
Best one for me was the one where when you were hooked in the basement you'd fall forever into the void. Or the one when they reworked I think it was MacMillan Estate and it had no walls and there were objects floating everywhere that would make you jump.

Though I know it is the truth, that story regarding Patch 1.8.1 and the complaints will always be a great mystery for me.
I mean, the game had Pallet Vacuum, Old BNPs, Old DS, Insta-Blinds, Infinites, and people were having problems with Freddy?
Like, really?
What kinds of players were those?
3 -
Newer players
I mean just a year prior some people were saying Wraith was the strongest killer
And this was old old Wraith...
The one who couldnt modify his movement speed while cloaked, needed to bring an add on to gain a speed boost after uncloaking but came at the cost of his movement while uncloaking, and his bell and woosh sound being map wide
Oh and his growls were loud af
1 -
Clearly the strongest killer.
If BHVR had done the right thing back then, current and boring Freddy wouldn't be a thing.
All they had to do was leaving him alone. But NO, they had to listen to these players.
I doubt any of them played more than 1 trial against on-release Freddy. I really doubt it.
1 -
I understand that to a certain degree but a mori is still a shortcut that bypasses legitimate sacrifice.
A mori allows a killer to ignore things that flashlights, pallet stuns and DS. I just feel like it would be more fair if moris didn't give MMR because if in fact they do then there's no reason for killers not to run them every match for an easier time.

It’s a tie between Binding of Kin and the MMR patch
Binding of Kin made Fallout 76’s launch look competent and finished, and MMR pretty much took a blowtorch to the matchmaking and the burns still haven’t healed
0 -
I didnt know a license was something you had to constantly renew. I was under the impression once you got permission and put demo in here, he was here to stay so long as people paid for him.
0 -
An obnoxiously lengthy animation and only the iri one can be used whenever you like. The others are more "win more" than anything.
You'd also be punishing PH for using his power.
1 -
Obviously I wasn’t around back when Freddy was your main. But you only got to enjoy him for one week??
0 -
5.0.0 that’s when performance got bad for us console players. It’s sad how long RPD was disabled.
0 -
As GeneralV said, 3.1.0 took away og Freddy so that's one of the worst for me personally. I will say that the mmr patch has also ruined the DBD experience for a lot of people. I'm not sure why they want to turn a party game into a competitive one, but it doesn't work for DBD and ruins the experience for many
1 -
Not quite..
You see:
-"Freddy on-release" was his short-lived first version, and in my honest opinion the best killer BHVR has ever created. Due to mysterious, unreasonable, and downright pathetic complaints, the developers decided to nerf him merely a week later.
-That brings us to the "Old Freddy" that you've heard of, created by the devastating Patch 1.8.1. Albeit weaker than his previous and perfect version, this Freddy was still a mid-tier killer with amazing potential when used effectively.
"Old Freddy" lasted from November of 2017 until July of 2019, when he got reworked.
I started playing DBD in December of 2018.

They definitely need to revert SBMM. It's made nearly every killer game I play a totally sweatfest to even 2K and every solo queue survivor game a "will I get facecamped and tunneled or is it someone else on my team instead". My enjoyment of this game has dropped massively since SBMM came out.
0 -
Probably not even in the Top 5.

Your words have word order.
Did you enjoy matches with weak players?
So, as you said, is this game a game where if you're a survivor, you're killed by a killer, and if you're a murderer, you have to free all the survivors? I'm a 5,000 hour user, over 10,000 people over 90% of our nationality are discussing opposition to the MMR system in their large community, and even our partner streamers say the MMR system is the worst patch. Where do you think the pros and cons of MMR will be higher?
Director Matthew is fully aware of the objections of the MMR, but ruthlessly ignores our views. This is for sure. If you look at the feedback on the official website and the general discussion forum, you can see that there is a lot of opposition to MMR, which has been going on for several months without any feedback. We're just Maruta... so it's clear that more and more players are leaving the game. This is not a statistic, but a visible one, and the reason for leaving is also shared. In addition, in response to questions from new users, retired players are urged not to use the game. How many concurrent users do you think there will be in the next few months?

For me the SBMMR is the BEST patch of its history since I started to play (2018).
0 -
I really didn't understand the uproar from the killer mains at that time, flashlight saving has always been easy to do, wasn't it?
IIRC, insta-blinds were already gone by that time, and the timing for flashlight saving has always been the same since then. I've gotten better at flashlight saving so maybe my opinion is a bit blurred.
0 -
As for the worst patch - based on what I read, probably has to be when Legion first came out. man's killed survivors just by moonwalking it's hilarious
0 -
It mostly was the pallet stuns. And i wouldn't call it easy, a lot of survivors still mess up the timing
