Circle of Healing Discussion
Sure almost everyone on this forum has talked about Circle of Healing at this point, but I have not really been able to see many discussions related to boon totems. I do not like boon totems because of the additional objective the killer gains in the form of rng related locations. Many have told me killers have hexes, so this is only fair, however, when you think about the resources survivors have to locate said hex totems, you realize how unfair the comparison is.
Enough about boon totems themselves and how they work, my main issue is Circle of Healing and its strength. Circle of Healing adds a lot of stress onto my matches, which in my experience, killer is already stressful enough if you are not playing one of the top three killers. I play a lot of Myers and a lot of Ghostface, meaning I mainly play traditional M1 killers. I have no issue with Ghostface and his power, just mainly how mediocre he is. Myers, I'm sure many can agree is just extremely aged. This is not a killer discussion, but I bring these two up because of how much stress Circle of Healing adds to the traditional M1 killers. Ghostface and Myers have no way to effectively kill survivors efficiently. It takes a lot of time to get a survivor into the downed state on certain maps, so you have to play correctly at almost every turn. Sometimes you can get away with getting more injures, which is always beneficial, but now that boon totems exist, there is no way for these types of killers to provide efficient map pressure.
For a killer such as Blight, Spirit, Hag or Nurse, it can be easier to apply map pressure while a boon totem is present. Traditional characters who are aged or have M1 related abilities, boon totems make their pressure even weaker, at least in my opinion. I am not the best player admittedly, I did just return from my hiatus of the game, and even before I quit, I would get outplayed by survivors at loops frequently. I do not have 1,000 hours on the game, so by all means, I can always adapt to these issues and play better, which is what I am trying to do. I suppose what I'm trying to say, is that boon totems give the killer another objective that if not meant, will destroy their chances at winning.
Survivors really still have one objective, do the generators and escape. Hex totems can be found with a plethora of perks and even with certain maps, meaning if a survivor chooses, they can play the entire game dedicating themselves to finding your totems. The problem with totems in my opinion is the RNG related mechanics, on both boons and hexes. Sometimes my hex will be hidden in a safe place, other times it will be in the open and will be cleansed almost instantly. Boon totems have the freedom of placing the totem wherever they please, which is odd to me, and is also related to dull totem RNG placements.
I do not know every totem spawn, because that sounds very miserable to memorize, and if I am being honest, I do not believe anyone should have to memorize totem spawns in order to remove one of--if not the strongest survivor asset in the game.

It’s just a powercrept healing perk essentially. Why ever run self care when this exists?

Boon totem are fine if you tunnel and camp the survivor. I can see in my game that killer are adopting to that strat more often compare to before. If i find it fun not really but its working

Yes, but since the way to counter a boon totem effectively every time is related to camping a survivor on the hook, which, in many peoples eyes is unhealthy for the game, developers should find a solution.

The replaceability of Boons and the staking of COH (with other perks and Medkits) need to be looked at... maybe give Boons stacks and make COH not stacks heal speeds (make it like Self Care... preserve Medkit charges)
The other Boons are good IMO (though I have yet to experience the Boon Unbreakable)
But then again if the Survivors want to spend time Blessing Totems then so be it
