Do you fing Deathslinger playable after his nerf?
Honest question

To me he didn't change that much.
2 -
He is but it sucks that they basically removed the most creative part about his power.
2 -
He can perform well, but so can a drunk driver;doesnt mean its healthy or okay.
I do fine with Midwich offerings or Meat plant as I use Starstruck but to me, his clunkiness makes him unfun.
I dont care about viability

Playable? Sure
Enjoyable? No

Agree.

@lauraa It just feels so weird lining up a shot... it's almost like there were three different mouse sensitivities: being zoomed out, being zoomed in and being in animation to zoom in... and it feels so much worse after his change. I don't know if this is a thing, it just feels this way to me. Huntress uses very similiar mechanic, but her mouse sensitivity stays the same... In all honesty, Nurse is way easier to play for me.
2 -
I don't see much difference in his playstyle (well the way I play him)
0 -
He's still very decent. You just have to run Monitor 24/7 to compensate the TR nerf (or else you'll deal with people running very early), but the gun is basically a muscle memory thing. I used to be very good on Slinger but now it's like I'm learning him again.
2 -
No.
He feels super clunky to play now.
I could maybe get used to how clunky his power is to use... But the Terror Radius nerf butchered most of his interesting and fun side play styles. So I have no reason to get used to it.
3 -
He isnt garbage but i dont like playing him anymore
3 -
Holy ######### I didn't even notice he has a 32m terror radius now. Pfffffft, not touching him ever again, no point where I can just go Blight or Nurse and actually have fun.
5 -
just 4k'd and had a blast playing with non-meta perks against decent players having not played him for a few weeks.
1 -
@Bennett_They1Them Good for you, hope it keeps going like this for you. It doesn't for me though.

Playable : Yes
Enjoyable : No
2 -
He is most definitely a killer that you can select and load into a trial with, so I guess he is technically playable.
4 -
Legit just play Huntress I'm not even being sarcastic.
2 -
For me no removing the ability to quickscope kill the killer for me
1 -
yeah, I'm not delegitimizing your frustrations. to be fair, I was also playing slinger at pretty low mmr, since I hadn't played slinger in so long.
also, I was running devour, which is a really powerful perk. my other perks were low tier, tho.
sorry if that came off as bragging. that's not what I was trying to do.

It's amazing how bhvr has made the same mistake when nerfing a killer basically 3 times in a row now.
They have nerfed Pyramid Head, Twins and Deathslinger all in such a way that it doesn't really affect their performance, it just makes them feel more like ######### to play.
2 -
The rather hilarious and sad part of this is that they did not address the main complaint Survivors had in most occasions. The major one for Deathslinger was zoning and now they made him entirely dependant on zoning.
6 -
Playable? Yes, fun to play as? no. I've only played a couple matches with him post nerf and don't intend on touching him unless buffed.
1 -
Just play deathslinger like huntress where you have to pre-pull, he plays fine.
Unfortunately beyond that, his ADS feels really clunky, if it was even a tiny fraction shorter it would be a lot smoother.
0 -
Just wish they gave him a lullaby like trickster and huntress instead of increasing his TR to 32m.
0 -
I can't play him anymore. His scope in feels awful. Casual nerf for casual players.
3 -
I played him once on the PTB and almost died irl. I’m done with him, already got his adept before the nerf so I’m good.
1 -
"decent" players.... for sure
0 -
Why not play Huntress then?
0 -
Yeah, I think if they just gave him higher penalty for ADS fake, so he is forced to commit on his shots more, I would be fine with that.
But his TR and quickscope were things that made him unique... and that's gone
Just play Huntress or Trickster, both are better and mainly -> more fun to play
3 -
@BenihimeWrath Well yes, that's good advice... the thing is... there is not a single thing a Huntress isn't better at right now after this nerf. So I'm not even going to bother trying to get muscle memory right, when Huntress is both more lethal, stealthy and easy to aim with.
@danielmaster87 It really does feel bad! Transition from one mouse sensitivity to the other is so weird and makes it very clunky and awkward to try and do quick shots - when this guy is all about the quickshots in 90% of loops.
1 -
I think he wasn't even viable before on bigger maps. He was a good Killer on smaller sized maps tho.
He did not need a nerf. Never had Problems as Surv against most Deathslinger-Players.. The only problem with DS was the Noed synergy. Every other aspect was Ok imo.
2 -
of course he is playable.
Hillbilly is also playable after his nerf.
but that does not mean they would be fun anymore - which, honestly, they are not. Especially not when you compare them to what they used to be.
while the Devs thought it was a good idea to actively punish Hillbilly for using his power (what a great idea, im sure the players will love that!), Deathslinger just had everything removed from him that made him unique and stand out in comparison to Huntress (why even bother making ranged Killers at this point when you just end up turning them into a budget Huntress anyway?).
but if Hillbilly has proven one thing in the past, its that BHVR will not back down on their horrendous decisions (unless they are literally gamebreaking - such as the Huntress Hatchet hitbox "fix" or the removal of timing for flashlight / pallet saves), even if everyone hates it.
2 -
Still playable, but not enjoying too play as anymore. The ADS feels clunky as hell now. Star Struck and Agitation are now a really nasty combo for cowboy now.

I play him a lot on PS4 and I love him!

Playable? Yes.
Less enjoyable? Also yes.
His nerf just made him less enjoyable, which is the case for most Killer nerfs (except Spirit) but didn't make them really weaker or anything.
1 -
They didn't need the delay on going into ADS they just needed the delay on going back, that way you would have to commit to your shots otherwise it would slow you down.
0 -
Thats not quite true, huntress' hatchet hitbox is larger than the hitbox for Deathslinger's spear, so theoretically if you are a god tier at both killers, deathslinger can get more difficult shots than huntress. However if you aren't playing such a pinpoint style then the difference doesn't really matter.

ah, you know what I meant.
decent enough to prove my point. :P
0 -
I will not be playing him anymore
2 -
He's playable, but he is super frustrating to play as.
1 -
His aiming didn't change that much for me personally since I can still quickly shoot and sometimes I tend to aim in and wait for them to run into my shot anyway. My biggest problem with him is his terror radius being 32m since he was meant to play like a hunter and I find monitor and abuse to be mandatory on him now. Regardless, still my second most played killer.
0 -
@Lordofweed You meant of the worse killer perks? The one that gives no value during the actual trial and can be very easily stopped or prevented completely? Ok...
0 -
Yea he's playable, you just have to adapt
0 -
If only survivors would adapt instead of crying about any killer that is mildly challenging.
7 -
He doesn't feel like any different. Quickscoping is still possible, it is just not instant and you need to know how to flick, I guess people don't like that the oppressive killer takes slightly more skill to use. The TR nerf sucks but honestly throw on starstruck and he is super scary
0 -
No.
0 -
Pphead's nerf(?) was good, since he could no longer just follow you until you either drop a pallet to get hit by M2, or run through to get hit by M1. Basically they gave survivors more counterplay, removed lose/lose situations, while actually buffing him in other part.
0 -
I think PH changes were good. You don't have free mindgame, but you can spam it more, which feels good to use.
Twins and DS were bad changes overall imo.
0 -
Yes and no.
I agree with the terror radius.
I disagree with the removal of the quick shots.
Quick shots made him unique. But now he's less useful as a killer. Still he's better then trickster.
0 -
I enjoyed him primarily for his stealth gameplay, and the fun in doing instant trick shots with him.
They removed what made him fun, so I just don't like to play him anymore.
0 -
Honestly, I loved his terror radius, was My favorite part
