is Hag generaly boring / unfun to play?
Because she is so rare to see.
Also I know CoH hurt her as well but even before Boons she was rare to see.

I find it fun to play as hag. Going against her? Not so much, specially since most put so many traps against the hook and never really leave too far.

She's fun to play, just requires a lot of game knowledge, and at that point why not just play Nurse?
0 -
That's very subjective.
For me, yes, Hag was the most un-fun thing about this game.
3 -
It's a matter of preference.
I personally don't find Hag fun to play as & against (she's my least favorite killer to go against), but there are people who genuinely enjoy playing as her. As hard as it is to believe, there are a few Hag mains out there. It's similar to the fact that I love playing as Clown, but many others find him boring to play as.

Yes. Right up there with camping Bubba and Trickster. Which is how 90% or more of Hags play. Along with scroll wheel basic attack and Franklin’s Demise.

Play as? Sure, maybe.
Play against? Yes, I love dying on my first hook next to 7 traps.
2 -
A lot of people don’t like strategic killers. Most just want a mechanics based chase power as opposed to a strategic trap power
1 -
Some people like playing her. I find her unfun to play and even more unfun to play against; she’s my least favorite Killer of the entire cast.
2 -
A lot of players find fun in the chase as killer. Hag is not a chasing killer. She's a territorial trapping killer. Sets up a web and waits to catch someone in it. So its not appealing to people who like to chase rather than just guard a section of the map.
1 -
I used to play Hag often but get exhausted for how she is designed to play.
Drop chases. Draw traps, even if you know survivors will just run away and later deliberately step on it.

She's one of the most unique killers in the game, but she's definitely not for everyone. Far more tactical and weak in chase.
She's also the sort of killer where you'll either snowball or get slapped, especially if you don't like to camp.
CoH hurts her and can turn matches into long wars of attrition - but CoH is going to get nerfed eventually.

dont forget item teching w/ franklins

For me she's fun and pretty easy to play, but I don't understand how her red add-ons works.

I enjoy playing against the Hag as she does not throw things. Her traps are fun to try and sneak over. Kind of like the trapper without stepping in his own trap.

Hag is not even close to Nurse in terms of difficulty
All you need to do is place traps in a way where they have "multiple uses", meaning that trap can catch a survivor from multiple directions and places that they could come from, for example, placing a trap close to the wall in between the window and pallet at shack covers: Them going into the shack from the pallet side, them coming into the shack from the window, them coming into the shack from the other side.
Knowing how to effectively use your traps doesnt take that long to learn, just gotta invest a little bit of time into it! :)

I'd rather play no traps Trapper than Hag. If I want to play a strategic I go to something like Darkest Dungeon, at the end of the day this is a chase based game.

She can be fun to play as, but she isn't very fun to go against.

It is a matter of taste, but for me, Hag is really boring to play. She used to be my most unfun Killer to play, maybe this spot goes to Trickster now, thanks to the Tome and BHVR forcing me to play way too many Trickster-games.
But with Hag you cannot do the fun part of the game - the Chases. You set Traps and hope the Survivors step into it. They do? Great, you get a free hit most of the time. But you cannot chase them, you have to hope that they step in another Trap.
I also dont like her hook camping style. Basically, if I get the chance to hook someone in the Basement with Hag, I can either play nice and not place any Traps or place a few Traps and this person is dead. Not really fun for me and also not fun for the Survivors.
And I guess many Killers dont really like to play Hag. And it is not because she is weak, she is one of the strongest Killers. And not really hard to play.
1 -
She is a Psuedo Camper. Psuedo Camping is not a issue all killers do that in some way shape for form, patrolling around the hook before leaving or looking back at the hook while walking away and seeing someone running for the rescue and heading back to stop them is Psuedo Camping.
Hag can trap the hook and run off to do other things knowing she can quickly get back to handle the rescuer while keeping map pressure.
Putting more than 1 trap at a hook is just a waste of her traps and her time to be honest. The down side to her is range and toxic trolls. She can only teleport back to her traps within a certain range unless you have the iridescent addon that allows you to teleport anywhere on the map. Toxic Trolls just activating her traps to annoy her or just to get rid of all her traps.

To play as yes. She’s very unique one of the most and doesn’t need to care about gens going off on the distance. You have make a plan and seeing it work so well is awesome. No map is equals an automatic loss for her. And doesn’t need certain perks or add-ons

I personally really enjoy playing as Hag, but as far as why I don't play her often, I usually get lured away by dailies or rift challenges for other killers, or feel like playing killers I tend to "main" like Trapper, just kinda out of comfort or what I'm feeling that day.
But overall I love her playstyle (and her appearance with her cosmetics)! I'm a big fan of placing random traps in areas survivors tend to run with less caution, and I used to run a Ruin/Devour Hope combo on her that worked fairly well, but that was a while ago...when I get back to her I need to give her loadout a makeover lol

Yeah. She has some of my favorite skins in the game by far.
I just wish her addons were more interesting. Half are effective (but boring) and the other half can feel worse than an empty slot.

Hag is fun to play if the survivors are not super well versed against her, yet if they are it just isn't all that much fun.

Hag is a weird one. She's one of my favorite killers but I only play her when I need a break from Plague and Pig. The thing about Hag is the more I play as her the better I get/muscle memory and perfect trap placements etc. all that jush. Hag is a 4D Chess killer and definitely not for everyone. When I don't want to think I definitely don't play as her lol
I do my best to not camp with her because that play style is dreadfully boring and unfair. Phantasm Traps should dissipate when placed near hooks or not be able to be place immediately around a hook in general like Pyramid Head's trails of torment. It promotes an unhealthy playstyle that literally no one likes. That being said I will trap a basement hook though because reasons.
But yeah, I have the absolute most fun on Hag when I use my jump scare build using Granma's Heart + add-on of your choice and: Tinkerer/Monitor & Abuse/Pop/Corrupt (You can change things around, Dark Devotion adds to the chaos). Scaring the daylights out of survivors with her is genuinely the most fun I have in this game.
I generally hate playing against her because most Hags camp hard and use unfun stuff like Franklin's + trap the dropped items with Rusty Shackles etc etc.
If they don't camp it can actually be pretty fun though.

I like playing as Hag. My lunge timing isn’t great but I otherwise do pretty well with her.

Yyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!
To play as and against

I always run Devour Hope on...well, most of my killers that I'm not running Plaything+Retribution on as I really don't like camping.
I'll tunnel like a demon though.

Monitor, Nurses, Sloppy, and after they start healing assuming you broke chase you can get them especially if the 4th perk is some sort of Oblivious giving one. I place traps in random areas away from pallets or windows to catch them in the open. Fun but you need to be aware of survivor's patterns.

Monitor is great. I've straight up grabbed people off gens with it. Pig, with Hag's terror radius would be a pretty fun killer.
I'm not a huge fan of Nurse's on her, I'd rather be putting down more traps.
Sloppy is decent, but doesn't really help if they are doing the 'bring BK, medkits and CoH, heal in approximately 1 nanosecond' build.
My go-to Hag build is Surge+DH+Monitor+CI/LP/BBQ

The beauty of this game is the survivors never know what kind of hag they are up against. Will it be a 3 gen totem guarding hag or something much much worst haha
0 -
I generally play a slow-rolling Devour Hope Hag with 'longer phantasm duration'+'phantasms get your terror radius' addons. It's...hilariously strong and scares the pants off people as they never know what's going on.

For me personally she is the most fun killer. I am not a friend of chases. I like to be 100% strategical which is not possible with other killers
1 -
She is one very unique and powerful killer.
The reasons why you haven't seen her are as follows.
1.The difficulty of learning how to use it is very high.
It is a powerful ability, but knowledge, experience, and intuition are very important to be able to use it.
Knowledge of other killers is not very useful, making it a very difficult killer for unfamiliar players.
2.It is a killer that does not fit the gaming environment.
The current gaming environment is hard for her. It's been that way for a long time.
Survivor's recovery speed is fast and her generator gets repaired quickly. She is also very weak against SWFs, so she has to struggle in most games.
3.There are many bugs.
Her trap has a lot of bugs in it.
You can place traps, but they won't activate. It activates, but you can't jump (even at distances where it would be useful). The trap is missing its target.
The trap is activated late. You jump to a different trap than the one you targeted. Illusion appears when the trap is not activated. I don't get a notification when a trap is activated.
There is a delay or stiffness in jumping.
There are still many problems. Many of them are fatal, and there are many situations where that will determine the winner.

Rusty Shackles is stupid

Hag is great fun to play and fun to play against.
I used to main Hag before I moved to Myers.
I like set up killers, the main problem with COH is that Hag's great strength was spreading a lot of damage quickly forcing players to either play cautiously, pause and heal up, or risk a quick down.
COH largely removes spreading damage from gameplay making hag a bit more focused.
Also noone wants to play cautiously anymore, seems like people want to power to just run around the map with impunity and get pissy when some killer mechanic means they can't. So that's what they do and it used to play well into Hag's spread damage playstyle but as I said COH is a bit of a problem with that now.
I don't bother with sloppy anymore it doesn't do enough to be useful.

COH really destroyed her, but also flashlights are really popular, and I don't really want to take a lobby if 3 of the people in it can destroy traps in an instant without setting them off, it makes her really annoying to play when you have to spend time setting up for nothing.

Fun and mostly easy to play as, downright sleeper to play against.

She's fun to play.

Survivors: "I want to face a killer that doesn't have an oppressive 1v1 anti-loop power."
Hag: HISSES
Survivors: "No, not like that."

All it is is how much setup she requires before you can actually go hunting if she could start the match with her traps already set for an certain amount of time I think more would play her
0 -
I don't like trap characters so I never play hag
0 -
Oh come on, drop that 'you need 2000IQ to play hag' bullshit. She is by far one of the easiest killers in dbd just for the fact that she requires ZERO mechanical skill to be good at.
