VHS has 100% no chance against Dead By Daylight
Hi,
No way. Dead By Daylight will stay at the top. VHS is way too colorful, a bully simulator and the gameplay doesn't appeal to me at all. Games like f13 have tried in the past and many gamers have said DBD is dead. The facts say otherwise and I'm glad DBD will stay in first place.
only my opinion: whats yours ?

No idea, it's a closed beta lol.

Since VHS looks like it's going for a different kind of gameplay to DBD, I think they'll be comfortable neighbours. I don't think DBD's presence is going to really affect VHS, or vice versa.

Its odd, all of a sudden the mood about VHS suddenly went really sour, what happened?

People other than jaded DBD content creators got to play it.

I guess.

dbd's only competition will be from larger companies who can get licenses on a similar scale to what dbd has.

DBD's core has always been "Escape the monster". A bad/casual Killer simply has their prey escape.
VHS's core is "Kill the monster". A bad/casual Monster has their prey beat them to a pulp.

VHS will almost certainly be a very successful game, however it’s not going to topple DBD. That isn’t to say that DBD is a better multiplayer game because imho it’s not, however it’s been around for a while, has licenses and a dedicated fan base.

VHS is for people who can't decide whether they'd rather play Fortnite or DbD. I like that the entire point is interaction between monster and teens, but... I dunno, I might try it when it releases, but I'm not a fan of the Fortnite aesthetic and rewards system.

Your expecting a game in the 4 v 1 pvp space to have a positive reaction on their competitor's forums?
While I don't think VHS will replace DbD(Nor is it trying too), it is a 4 v 1 pvp game competitor at the end of the day.

The competitors forums are full of people who arent a big fan of DBD

I don't want VHS to beat DBD, I want VHS to co-exist and be another asymmetric horror game that succeeds. I want the two games to share a space, push the other to be better and not grow complacent.

I'm sure f13 would still be somewhere up there. If they didn't stop cuz of the lawsuits. Honestly this type of mindset is what hurts the games more than help. Play the game and see if you like it. I hope it does well. People gotta realize its not dbd its another game.

I watched some gameplay and, although there are very strong similarities (damn, the UI is blatantly copied from DbD) the feel of the game is very different. I think VHS is more comparable to Evolve than to DbD because both factions are fighting eachother. Not to talk about the bright and colourful aesthetic, the opposite of DbD.

As I've said on various threads about this now...both games can co-exist. The genre is plenty big enough for more than one game, it's great for the whole genre to bring in more people etc.
I wish the devs of VHS well with their game, they had a rough start on the Beta and I felt absolutely awful for them, because it's horrible putting that much work into something (which they clearly have) and then having things like that go wrong the last minute, we've been there, we know how it feels.

i agree with the vhs being kill the monster but dbd is now bully the monster until they give up and cease to exist XD

It is funny how the community mindset is all about the "vs". This vs that, that vs this. It is cringe tbh.
Maybe play the game or role you like without making everything "vs"?

I think it's different enough to not be a direct competitor, i don't really like the game much. If there's one game that i think could be more of a competition is the Propnight game, it's much more like DBD but instead of vaulting things you morph into props as a survivor. I haven't seen a game like DBD that preserves the "loop" system yet wich is what makes me like the game in the first place.

VHS could be another game to take a break from DBD.
F13 would still be upper there if it wasn't for the lawsuit.
You're acting childish!

I agree. I like PVP games, I want more PVP games. I like RPG games, I like to play different RPG games without comparing them to another one because they all can coexist.
There is no: "X game will beat Y game so only one of them will stand". It's: "X game + Y game = two games everyone can enjoy".

I am not being childish, because there is a very specific reason why I wrote a post like this. First, Mandy is absolutely right about what she writes and I had that in mind from the beginning. But constantly reading in the official forum and on other platforms that BHVR was supposedly afraid because of VHS, deleting posts and so on, finally made me mad and want to test the game myself. It was the same with F13 back then. BHVR is dead, DBD won't be around much longer and so on. In the end, however, something else showed up. That's why I made this post here. Yes, it's nice that this genre is evolving and it's nice that there are and will be more games, but I stand by my opinion: DBD is and will remain #1 for me.
I like it *thumbs up* Mandy

Still what you said is the same as all of those that scream DBD is dead it's just childish.

The attitude of "I want to be right" or "I'm winning this argument" is childish. There is nothing more to say

That's fine I have nothing more to say anyway.
Good Day Sir
