Am I the only one who would be disapointed if they added in survivor base comms?

The thing I like about dbd team matches is no mic is the standard. There is another game on steam that looks so fun, but communication is so required that mics are expected.

I like to just chill out after work, and as an introvert I will pick dbd over other games because I find socialising after work exhausting.

I have played games where if you dont have a mic but theyre expected and they cant kick you out of the match, theyll get you killed. This is why I never got into endgame raiding in WOW

They won't. They've said as much, because of 'language differences'.

The smart way to do this is going to be a much more robust system of emotes and maybe pings, as others have suggested.

The odds that I ever play survivor would become even worse in that case. I don't want to talk to random people! And I'm often playing at a time where I can't possibly talk to anyone without disturbing other people.

I would be okay with it if I had the option to mute everyone. If not, I’d quit the game.

One of the biggest issues plaguing DBD is the power difference between solo and SWF, breaking the game on a fundamental level.

You can’t balance killers around SWF else they’d be too strong for solo, which makes them underpowered vs SWF.

Bridging the gap and allowing killers to be buffed accordingly is imho an essential step for DBD if it wants to be anywhere near its potential.

Comms would need to be optimal and you’d have the ability to mute. A ping system would need to be implemented too.

Most multiplayer games have these features for a reason, and without them DBD is doomed to suffer from its inherent balance issues patch after patch.

VHS is a great example of a game that does it right. Facilitating teamwork within the game is an essential component of keeping it balanced for both sides. Without comms or a ping system nothing would work. But you don’t have to participate if you don’t want to.

It wouldn't be an issue if we had sensible basekit things that SWFs get for free (Kindred, some sort of ping system). We could just turn VC off in that case and still do fine. I often SWF without comms and don't have too many issues.

But right now the problem, as others have said, is a huge information gap between SWF and solo that BHVR refuses to address for the sake of the first 20 hrs of immersion.

I lowkey want a casual mode where everyone including the killer has open mic. Would be pretty funny to be honest.

I’d want to do that as killer and play fan made chase Themes for killers with default chase themes.

I would agree, I just hate games that if you dont use a mic people try to get you killed / kick you

Mics are great in games where there's a chill player base and easy mechanics for getting in and playing games with people you enjoy playing with - dedicated servers with regulars, guilds that control their membership. I LOVE talking to strangers in First Class Trouble, for example. I can't imagine them working in DbD and thankfully I don't see any chance of them being implemented.
