Quick Question About The Artist

I would test it, but I can't really play The Artist yet, so I'll ask here to help sate my curiosity and see if my assumption is right or wrong.

Hex: Pentimento...does its effects stack as you gain tokens, or do you swap out the effects for each token.

My assumption is that they stack.

Yes, the effects stack assuming none of them are broken after resurrecting them.

Welp, I'ma hijack this thread and ask a related question myself to anyone who knows.

The perk says: "For each Hex Totem active at the same time, Hex: Pentimento gains an additional effect."

Does this mean if I have Ruin, Devour Hope, and Haunted Grounds, that this perk will automatically start the game with 4 tokens since I have 4 hex totems? Or is the text only referring to relit hex totems?

I feel like the former would be too powerful of an effect, but at the same time that potentially vague description is making me wonder.

I feel like it would not grant tokens for having other Hex perks active, since the whole "rekindling" process is so unique. But, I would think that, if you run other Hex perks and they get destroyed, you can use them to sort-of bait out Pentimento, since it only says "destroyed totems." It ain't being specific on whether they can be a previous Hex or not.
