Hex Pentimento, good idea but utterly useless.
Love the idea of this perk it seems like a fun creative perk, but it's just completely pointless to run.
You have to wait for a survivor to cleanse a totem for one, then you go and bless it. But then the survivor knows you have it cause they will be inflicted and just run back to where they broke the totem and cleanse it again. It honestly just seems like a huge waste of time on both sides but hey at least the survivor will get some bloodpoints.

It was clear from the PTB that its a trash perk.
But some people believed it would become meta, because they only read half of the description and thought that it sounds OP.

I just used it myself.
The map got booned, and I couldn't light it once. Literally an empty perk slot Lol
Maybe if I ever get plaything or hex perks in general on her, which I don't yet. But without those, it's such a joke perk so far.

I've had...some luck thus far with Plaything+Retribution, but yeah - Pain Resonance is a much more consistent and powerful slowdown tool as it doesn't rely on survivors doing or not doing something.
Penti does work quite well on Hag though, I'm guessing - as it gives you a nasty little spot to stick traps.

It's okay when you combine it with things that more heavily encourage breaking over blessing, but on its own it's not particularly great.
The more interesting question, to my mind, is... should it be? Is it a bad thing for a perk to only really work properly when paired with one of a number of other perks to prop it up? Undying and Thrill aren't particularly useful on their own either, so is it a problem that Pentimento needs propping up too?
I'm not saying it isn't a problem, but it's an interesting question to ponder.

Jonah's boon totem perk is next to useless too. Just entirely situational.

I thought I'd do adapt as I'm prestiging her up, and... I have not seen the aura of a broken totem a single time.... NOT ONCE. Utterly useless :D

Unlimited Unbreakable is a tournament level perk.

Yeah tbf when I first read it I missed the whole once cleansed that totem is removed haha

Yeah that's I feel most matches will go if I run the perk

Yeah true I guess with hag and potentially nurse/blight you could get use by proxying it. But yeah the scourge hook perk seems so much better
0 -
Yeah I mean it's not a problem that it needs other perks but to me it's just the fact that the survivor will know exactly where it is anyway which just makes it bad unless that survivor is in chase or hooked

Yeah I haven't used a boon totem before but from the description I agree only would work in some extreme circumstances

The fact that the gen speed slowdown comes in at the second stack and not the first makes it unplayable. Smart survivors will just cleanse it once, see that they get a healing speed debuff, and not cleanse it again.

They changed that from the PTB- gen speed is first now.

I've played 5 games with Artist tonight and got to use it 4 times, this was paired with Plaything. Only managed to have 2 re-lit totems up at the same time though. I suppose it's killer dependant, if you can trap them/ puke on it with 2 minute duration it's alright in theory. Still better than thana though imo.

No one even cleanses totems anymore, just boons. What is the point of this perk?
3 -
I think its generally a good idea if we stop moving in the direction of "reactionary" killer perks. It should be entirely in the killers hands how, and when they utilize their perks. Or at the very least be a perk with predictable outcomes
2 -
Yeah I'm sure it would be okay on some killers as long as you focus on keeping it there, but for the most part it would be a waste to run.
1 -
I thought it was the other way around? There's no way they'd buff it to that.
0 -
Because it sounded so damn good. Almost like a killer version of a boon.

I agree, great idea but bad perk. If it had been released before boons maybe it would have some viability as inner strength and NOED caution was at an all time high. Now with boons the incentive to cleanse is even lower.
Sidenote: Does anyone know if small game numbers go back down if a totem is resurrected?
