Genuinely surprised anybody plays killer anymore
Literally all I get is all the one-sided maps like Badham and Fractured Cowshed and every time i'm about to get a down the survivor just uses dead hard. MMR combined with dead hard and tile strength and map size have ruined killer and it's such an awful experience. Even when you win it's not even satisfying because the match was rustrating or the survivors were just bad and it's an easy win, at least that's my experience. Can't even change my build to a new one because of the garbage mobile game style grind. Game has turned into a joke for killers and I'm surprised queues aren't through the roof for survivor.

The boons have ruined some playstyles now like hit and run, spreading pressure. they can just heal forever no limits. the new map is hot garbage to play on for killer, big and safe, hold W map. more breakable walls which slow the killer down when the game is already really fast. yikes its like the map designer is trolling.

Boons were the tipping point. People saying "Apply pressure" is an actual legitimate meme now.

Have only played on the new map as survivor but all the tiles seemed strong and another potentially strong main building. Boons are just another thing to waste killer time or get punished for it and like you said, spreading pressure is impossible now.

I don't know, i am the kind of casual killer only player that still plays a few times a month when in the mood and don't care about kills but mostly about BP.
I have only roughly 300 hours playing since release and I think(!) I managed to tank my MMR into the ground by intentionally not killing most survivor outside of challenges.
So now I am mostly matched against noobs and can somewhat control the flow of the game while being relaxed. If I get a really bad group i see myself more like a teacher or crash test dummy for the survivors. Especially enjoyable with the image in mind of smacking them for their mistakes in a comidic fashion.

I'm naturally competitive so I find it hard to not care about the outcome however I still refuse to camp and tunnel just to get a kill. Nowadays I never get an average team I only get survivors who are better than me or survivors who have little experience.

Yeah it took me quite some time to let go of the tension during a match.
I mostly also play competitive pvp games like rainbow, lol or rocket league so i get what you mean.
And yeah I also categorically avoid camping (going the long way around the map), tunneling (straight up ignoring the last unhooked survivor) and to a degree slugging (only one person at a time and mostly when they are at death hook).
The problem is that such a fair playstyle and winning don't go hand in hand without excessive amounts of experience and playtime, so that is just no fun. Coupled with the insane grind in this game it can get quite frustrating.

It's mostly the tome I think. People want them costumes

Badham is not as bad as you are saying, or at least wasn't, but otherwise I agree.
Reworked Maps + Boon Totems + MMR seems to be making the killer experience extremely frustrating. Applying pressure, which was indeed a legitimate strategy that lasted for years, is impossible now.
I don't know what the heck is BHVR doing, but I don't like it.

Yes, I have no problems with MMR. HD & Pallet validation are super annoying, but I can play through it.
Coh is what break me to play Killer.
3 -
Might be why there's still instant killer queues despite a new killer having been released. I remember killer queues being much longer during Nemesis and Tricksters releases.

CoH looks like a bug or even "legalized cheat". Totems cursed by foul witchcraft just pop in here and there.
If for any reason you can't find even a single totem, survivors retreat to it, heal all the damage and begin their toxic behaviour by overusing bodyblocking, swarming around you, they sabotage hooks and complete generators even if they know they get downed. By the time you pick them up others already healed. It's not fun.
In order to play the game they need 4 survivor and 1 killer. Mathematics say they need more than 20% of players to constantly take killers role.
Even if Killer is good, gets 4k in a row during 5 trials - with all that CoH, Dead Hard, BT, DS and other "meta" stuff, well... killer is getting tired. That's constant stress and sweating.
Since survivors are relaxing they want to play more, but not enough killers make theirs queue longer.
For some reason survivors consider Killer as a jester or a scarecrow.
But killer must be something like DM from D&D. If Killer is poorly prepared - game goes short and not fun.
And being good DM in D&D or Killer in DbD is hard work. When someone loves his work he won't abandon it just because of temporary problems.

The thing i hate about bedham is everyone runs to the god damn school or whatever is the strongest loop.
I left when sbmm came out. Every match i have, regardless of the killer i use, its either noobs or try hards. Mostly the latter. Then boons came out which is not encouraging me to come back. Then a chapter just came out and boons have not been touched yet more killers were nerfed. This is the circle of life for dbd. Once or twice a year they will introduce a chapter that calls me back then they quickly screw it up and i leave again.

My main enjoyment of this game came from playing killer, I love the unique powers and can even have a blast playing the weak killers (legion, trickster) but now, combined with poor balance and sum I find myself only playing survivor, which I don’t find nearly as fun as killer. It’s disappointing to be honest

Yeah I was surprised by the killer queue times. Still instant even with a new chapter release.

Yep. Blame Boons, and the devs for turning the game into a one sided survivor bully fest. It's a joke how weak it feels to play some iconic horror characters.
5 -
Sad, but true. The killer should be the one doing the bullying, like when we all started out and where super afraid, but nowadays the killers are the survivors plaything. When you try to reach a hook and three survivors swarm you, shove you around and body block you, just to disperse once their team mate wiggles free and bolt for their boon totem, you have to ask yourself what kinda (bad word) show this is? It aint no horror movie, thats for sure.

I am not surprised, because in solo q you are dependend on 3 random people that can be really lack of common sense. Killer is way better than that.
1 -
it was meme before boon
situation what you said not in the killer's advantage at firstplace
except in situations when you hit two or more survivors must run in the same direction
1 -
Pretty sure "throwing games so you get matched with people you easily stomp" isn't fun for the majority, though. I don't want to be bullying people that have no clue at all, that I could probably beat without doing anything but M1's.

It is sad b/c as soon as a new killer play style emerges, the devs add a new perk to kill it. hit & run became popular on M1 killers and the self care boon showed up. I see that in every game now whether i play surv or killer. I try to be competitive when i play killer but there isn't any point. I just play for a challenge or BP and call it a day.
I have noticed the queue time for survivor in the evenings have about doubled. This is whether i'm solo q or swf. So i would say yes, the killer population has dropped somewhat.
To be fair i'm sure it's up right now b/c of the artist release. It may only be temporary.

Unfortunately, there really isn't any competition for this game so the devs have gotten greedy. They used to tell the crybabies to stop whining, now they do whatever the survivor mains cry about because there's more money to be made on that side.

I feel the need to chime in. I am or should I say was a killer main. I streamed the game and for the longest time this was my go to game to stream.
I have played since Myers came out. I have been through the ups and downs the nerfs and the buffs. I have seen numerous things. Over all of it I have seen a very steady shift in the game leaning towards one side.
The boon totems are what finally made me say, ok enough is enough. Along with the Slinger and spirit nerf. I get that as a business you need to cater to your majority, but there is another side that plays.
I can give so many examples of the one sidedness, but this post would be too long. Let's take SWF as an example. Swf on comms is an advantage. I understand alot of it is people just having fun with friends and that you should not be punished for it. Ask yourself this tho, have the devs givin anything to the killer to compensate for the advantage? No they have not.
At the end of the day, the survivors do not fear the killer at all. They hold most of the advantages. The game is skewed in their favor, but again... it's good business. BHVR is like Mr. Krabs. MONEY, MONEY, MONEY!!
I had alot of fun playing this game. I hope you all still do. For those that stepped away, I get it. Good luck to you all 😃

They are through the roof. Yesterday was the exception, because a lot of people wanted to try Artist - but the day before I got through an entire episode of King of the Hill waiting for my queue to pop when I played survivor. My killer queues on the other hand seldom go above 90 seconds.
I totally agree on boons. Overcome+CoH is just so overwhelmingly oppressive that it negates entire killer kits simply by the potential of existing in a game. Wraith is dead and even Hag is struggling. Any sort of attrition based play is now mostly pointless.
I really like the map though. It feels balanced for both sides - deadzones for sniping or chainsaws, no ridiculous psuedo-infinite loops, easy to navigate geometry and no stupid corn or rushes to obstruct vision.
It's a bit of a misery for Trapper and Hag because your traps stand out like a big spider on an ice-cream sundae, but that's true of several 'brighter' maps.

I don't bully anyone. I am a breath of fresh air between the tunneling and camping and low level survivor can train how to loop and stuff with medium pressure.
At least that is what I am aiming for because it is relaxing and enjoyable for me and them and we all get a ton of BP.
Just for clarification i don't farm with them but try to play normal without caring for gens popping until I have 8 hooks and either they have managed all gens or i start slugging one and chase another around until they finish so they can get more altruism and so on.

People do take this into account. Chill it just a game. Well I super competitive and like to win. That doesn't me I'm going to flip because I lost but when there's some bs that stacks against me it got old fast.
I also hardly get normal teams in about 60% of my games i see PTS on at least 1 person.
I also feel like I play against quite a bit of stretched res because they will play certain titles a little to well. Then I'll play survivor and be like wait how did they play like they knew where I was on these loops you can't see anything.
