If you try to Kobe before I save you....or I see random Kobes as killer....
Smart killers knows that an unhook is happening in the area.
I've left so many people on hook because of this/have gotten so many extra kills....
I'm wondering if anyone else pays attention to it.

I think they mean people that try to kobe often do so before an unhook, leading OP to believe someone is in the area, often mistakenly. This also gives information to the killer that someone's nearby trying to unhook.
1 -
Which is usually incorrect. You only go for kobes generally when someone is NOT rescuing. Otherwise you lessen the time survivors have to make plays.
2 -
People try to Kobe before an unhook in a decent number of my games, either side.
3 -
If i have enough try for a kobe attempt while someone is coming for me why wouldnt i. kobing in there face is funny
1 -
I don't normally pay attention to it as I'm usually chasing someone else or just do quick glances around the hook to see if someone it coming or not.
Depends on who you ask. Some people don't care while others will leave you to die on the hook out of spite. I've seen quite a few forum posts debating about it before as well.

people don't like fun then.

Thus, this thread. OP is saying you shouldn't, because it tips off killer you have nothing to lose and rescue is coming. Thus, is it worth it to harm yourself and your team for a lulz?

but how? if a survivor is coming to get me and i have enough time for an attempt why wouldn't i? not like i would go to second stage

Kinda rude to take their points away is the biggest argument i heard against it.
You also screw over some builds. You may call me "unfun" if i leave you to go second stage on hook after attempting to kobe but after dying on first hook a couple of times cause my Deliverence was denied by a hilarious kobe in the face you can't really blame me for it anymore.
Not to mention challenges you deny
A lot of people just find it rude all around, don't do it if you want to still work as a team afterwards
3 -
if ur gonna be petty thats not on me
2 -
I usually just stand still and make them think I'm gonna let them hit stage 2, give them a point or two
Then I unhook them and send them on their way

If you don't understand how straight up denying your teammates perks can't be seen as rude then that's equally not on me
2 -
its a 4% chance. man its not that big of a deal
0 -
Seems to be a lot bigger chance when i'm running deliverance or We'll make it
a 4% chance for the single reason of screwing your team with zero actual benefit is still rude.
It's not a big deal, you not getting resqued afterwards also isn't that big a deal. There is a 96% chance of it not happening after all.
But if you troll me you can't really complain i troll you back
Kinda hypocritical to say your trolling is funny but mine is petty.
2 -
i think whats worse... is letting ur teamamate get to second. thats probs screwing ur teammates over alot more
1 -
It doesn't happen that often. So it's not that big of a deal.

Why do you think everyone else finds it fun when you deny them points/perks/challenge?
Don't cry when people refuse to heal you after you do, it is also "fun" for me.

i think ur taking this game a little 2 seriously man.

You're making the mistake of thinking that i'm being angry for this. I'm not angry.
It's not that i'm going to hate the player for doing this. They paid for their copy, they can do what they want as long as it isn't ban worthy. And this isn't. Just find that if you want to troll me you can't complain if i troll you back.
If i was taking the game too seriously i wouldn't let teammates go to second stage for the joke of it.
We are not going to reach an agreement so i think it's best to just agree to disagree.
Just know that jumping of hook in front of a player is considered rude to some people. That you don't find it rude doesn't change how they feel and if they feel like returning the favor you're only a hypocrit if you call them out for being petty. It's simular to T-bagging. Lot's of players like myself have no issue with it. Some do, and if you t-bag those players and get facecamped or slugged to death you also don't really get to complain cause you know it triggers people.
You paid for the game and you can do what you want in it. But don't call other petty for doing the same to you.

Personally I don't really care that much if you kobe in my face, UNLESS you doing so causes me not to get deliverance, then I'll be annoyed.
Also that feeling as killer when you are on the other side of the map from the hook with devour, and the unhook happens and you don't get a token, and you realize what actually happened.
Also if I'm a survivor and devour is in play then I do want you to kobe in my face for obvious reasons, as long you're not risking going to struggle if you do it. I had a game once where I unhooked myself at 4 tokens to deny the 5th stack and saved someone from getting mori'd because of it (we found the totem soon after).

It's a big deal after I run across the map to save them only to have them 4% in my face. Wasted my time that could of been on a gen and put me at risk - plus I'm not likely to bother healing them after that.
1 -
its not a waste of time. cause they have no way of knowing if there gonna kobe. they only do it cause ur near.

It is if they succeed, which they do. Then I get no compensation for trucking over to them.
