Deathslinger Belongs in Old Freddy "F" Tier
I'll be watching out for his placement in tier lists going forward because he is truly terrible. Survivors strafe at a faster clip than he can move the reticle.

I can't speak to how good or bad he is but I agree that his turning speed feels annoyingly slow. I hope they turn up his turning speed while aiming so it at least doesn't feel like a Tim Conway's Old Man skit. (How's THAT for a dated reference, you whippersnappers! Now get off my lawn!)

i dont think hes THAT bad.
i honestly still think he's bottom of B-Tier, maybe C-Tier.
they made him incredibly unfun to play, not outright bad.

Agreed, he feels awful to play as. His 32 meter terror radius is so stupid. It just gives survivors a head start to run away.

Wait, he is worse than Myers and Clown now?
I haven't played him after the nerf because... well, because it was obvious he was going to suck. But I didn't think he could get worse than Clown.

Myers at least has great snowball potential, a well timed tier 3 can turn a match upside down. Clown is pretty bad but on smaller maps you do just fine. Deathslinger is the worst killer in the game specially because of the iron sight mechanic, its crazy slow now and a survivor strafing left or right will always move faster than your turning rate. He only has zoning left, but for that you already have every other ranged killer so no reason to play him anymore.
It's sad cause I used to main him since he was released, it was a good break from huntress. Hopefully one day the devs will reverse the nerf

Deathslinger might of been sometimes annoying to go against. but now i don't go against him at all.... i want to go against deathslinger again

Legion is still worse imo. But yes. Those two are pretty interchangeable at worst killer in the game

They should give him a passive slow down. Hes strong 1v1 but still Gen-rushable.
Nerf his 1v1, hes nothing but Pinhead without the Box

hes just kinda jank now but hes not even that much weaker im a bad deathslinger but the times i do play him i dont really see much of a decrease in actual power he just feels worse to play

He plays literally the same, you just can’t quickscope. He still has great zoning and is far FAR better than old Freddy could have ever hoped to be.

Quickscoping is what was unique to slinger and what made his chase game so good, while I wouldn't say he's the worst he's easily bottom 5 or 6.

Not being able to quick scope removes his chase ability in open areas and in loops. Deathslinger could fake aiming to try to gain distance, but then the survivor just gets to the pallet or the window. If Death intends to shoot, the survivor strafing makes it too difficult to actually attain a hit.

But you wouldn’t say the same for huntress would you? She can charge her hatchet and good huntresses will almost always get the hit even though survivors see her charged. Death sliver is the same, if not better at that same scenario since he moves faster while ADS than she does charged.

Whatever you say, dude. Quick scoping was never the key aspect of his power and people who relied on it probably also struggled with huntress. Does he need a buff? Probably. Was he gutted over something this small? Absolutely not.

Legion is far better than Deathslinger. I'll admit that Legion's power is definitely not the strongest one out there, but it is very good at what it does and it doesn't suck to use.

Huntress has more control over aiming a hatchet than Deathslinger has aiming down the sights. She also has more field of view since Death's weapon blocks half the screen. Then consider she does not have a secondary action taking place in order to get the hit (reeling), or a range limitation (Death's 18 meter shot).
Deathslinger is definitely in a bad spot, especially compared to Huntress. He was comparable before the midpatch adjustments.

Agree, he is still relatively good, specially compared to old freddy, but damn does it feel horrible to play as him. Feels like i have the game in slowmotion.

There is literally zero reason to play slinger now over huntress strength wise. Zero. Huntress has better chase, gen pressure, perk synergy, W key counters, even better zoning.
Small hole shots got removed in map reworks and you can't get the shots off anyway because of his painfully slow ADS.
They stripped everything that made him unique and made him a budget huntress. Literally EVERYTHING new slinger can do huntress can do better.

He's still very solid. I don't even know why people compare him to Huntress, because Huntress needs to charge her hatchet for 3 seconds before releasing it at full speed (1000%), while Slinger takes only 0.9 seconds to do the same. At close range he's still imo way better than her.
He's just UNFUN as hell to play as now. He feels clunky because a gun is supposed to be a responsive weapon, not a sluggish one. Any shooter dev seeing Deathslinger's ADS would feel ashamed because besides being clunky to use, the limited sensitivity is stupid. The "compensation buff" he's got is worthless because keeping the ADS raised is useless, he's most effective playstyle is still raising the gun and shooting ASAP.
Give back his quickscope, and just give him a massive slowdown if he raises the gun without shooting, something slower than even Huntress. Reward the Slingers that actually go for shots, and punish the ones that use cheap zoning.

not being able to quickscope is what makes his gameplay entirely different. what are you saying?
idk if you were just ads walking as him before, but quickscoping was what made him. it's like removing billy's curve and saying he plays the exact same. maybe if YOU were playing him improperly before then he's no different, but entirely removing the main strength of his kit (with stealth being his secondary strength) he is not at all the same killer.

No killer with any sort of ranged ability can ever go in the F tier. He's still powerful, you just have to learn a new playstyle. Learn to pre-aim around obstacles and use LoS blockers to your advantage. Maybe lean into a stealth build with him, a deathslinger with no terror radius can be pretty terrifying.
