After playing this game for 1000 hours, I am convinced it needs a health chapter.
To elaborate on my title, I fully believe this game would need all the resources and time that is in general given to a normal chapter and have it given to a health chapter, only directed towards improving balance issues, bugs and in general improving the state of the game.
Now, why do I believe this?
First of all, it is a well known fact that it is almost always a better idea to make sure there are as few flaws as possible in what you already have before adding things that can cause more flaws. Chapters such as A Binding of Kin and Resident Evil brought massive performance and bug issues, that took a very long time to fix. They also added new perks, killers and maps that in it of themselves require attention, making for an even larger list of things that this game needs to focus on, making it more difficult to focus on a single thing.
Now, let's go over a list of things, from minor to major, that is more or less universally agreed could use a change:
The Legion. An underperforming killer, who doesn't have any abilities whatsoever in chase. Using his power feels somewhat good, then it's over and there is absolutely nothing you can do. Requires attention both in power and gameplay.
Too many perks to mention. Examples include Deathbound, Blood Pact, Mettle of Man, Gearhead, Dead Man's Switch and more. These are all perks that are severely underperforming, fill the roles of another perk but worse or are simply too niche to be used in a fun or competetive way, further encouraging the next issue:
Stale meta. Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, Dead Hard, Unbreakable. Some incredibly powerful perks that are without a doubt the most common ones on the survivor side, and any survivor looking to seriously win requires to use these perks to do well, or a few other similar perks. Perks such as Decisive Strike and Borrowed Time also fill purposes that should be filled within the game itself, but in a more balanced way, and more perks should be on par with the power of these perks with no perk combination being objectively the best. Same goes for killer side.
The Twins. A mess of quality of life issues. Despite being a somewhat powerful killer, they have so incredibly many issues (cooldown, bugs, use of power, little creativity in use, etc.) that make usage stale and boring, which leads to them being by far the least played killer, as proven by a multitude of statistics.
And there is much, much more included in this list that cannot be included for the sake of brievity (Such as the economy, grind, pay to win, SBMM, etc). My point being, this game, as fun as it is, is littered with an incredibly and honestly impressive amount of issues, and with the developer's 3 month schedule, it simply cannot be consistently improved upon in a timely manner without creating more issues for the game.
And even with their patches, several "improvements" actually worsen the state of the game, such as SBMM, which has recieved consistent negative feedback. This is due to the fact that MMR only works in a competetive video game, and this game has so many balance issues and power gaps so that it cannot be considered to be seriously competetive without strict rules.
The developers need alot of time and resources to be able to handle these issues, and currently, with their existing 3-month schedule for their increasingly ambitious chapters, that isn't happening properly. BHVR has stated prior that they do not need to change their schedule for this, but every single one of these issues which have all existed for an incredibly long amount of time says otherwise.
And a message to BHVR that I, and everyone else, truly believe in:
This isn't working. You, or any other higher ups, might believe that if you keep up with this schedule you will get more money, but that won't happen if you prioritise game health. That, however, isn't true, and I will prove it.
No Man's Sky was released in 2016 (just like DbD) to widespread hate, and had such an abundance of issues that it felt impossible to properly improve it. 5 years later the developers (Hello Games) have consistently updated the game and their team is one of the most beloved teams that exist, despite the fact that they have never had any paid DLC, and decreased the original price of the game. Their sales massively improved, even years after their game was released.
However, Dead by Daylight, despite being increadibly popular right now, is consistently worsening in terms of PR. For all the time spent on chapters and DLC's instead of game health, the PR will worsen, and what will, eventually, lead to a downfall in sales. Such has been seen time and time again, and that is not the way to go forward.
I would love to hear your own thoughts and opinions, and I truly hope the Dead By Daylight team can understand this message. Me, and many others, love this game, but it is improving far too slowly to keep up with the current schedule.
Thank you for reading. BHVR, if you read this, please care. Several boycotts of your game have already been suggested, and no matter what, if that's happening, something is wrong. And anyone else reading, please share your thoughts and opinions, as I and many others would love to hear.
See you in the fog.

I agree, I would love them to not release a new character in 3 months but instead bug fix and balance. Also I wouldn't be upset if they released an update with 3 new maps instead of a new character too.

- Provide a real report system as a solution to the cheater problem.
- Balance maps with fixed pallet and window placements.
- Improve perks that never get used due to how useless they are. And I mean really improve them, not just a few here and there, I mean all of them, I am tired of using the same 10-15 perk pool from which I mostly use just 6-8 perks as meta.
- Bring new maps for a change and focus on the horror element more.
That's what they should do instead of pumping out broken killers.

Does this game need a Health chapter? Sure!
Will it get one? Probably not.
Mainly because the devs are terribly out of touch with their community. We used to have weekly dev streams about the game, where we got feedback from the devs. But those times are long over. Which is just sad. Because that was one of the features, that made DbD unique in comparison to other games.

I agree, but I doubt it happens.
So many worthless perks.
So much unhealthy gameplay.
So many huge blatant imbalances.
It's getting to the point I'm actually playing League of Legends again because Dead by Daylight sucks this bad.

I am well aware, but I am passionate enough for this game to give a post like this a shot. I do genuinely believe that the only way to realistically manage to make the devs REALLY care is something akin to a boycott, however that would require so much passion and unity that the game must be in a much worse state than it is now for it to happen.

I doubt anyone would care if we got less killers / survivors per year. Just replace it with balance and bug fix patches and to get some money, they can focus on skins, easy...

fixing the game wont give them money or people paying for the dlcs, they dont care about that they will milk the game as much as possible while it lasts they dont think into the future just for the now,

Especially with the amount of killers and survs which is available. Game health would also maybe buff older killers so that the variety would increase.
Happy players will likely get more friends or so to play the game too. Could be more rewarding moneywise in the end.
