Are you proud?
Look, I love this game. No matter how much I ######### (including this post) I’m going to keep playing because I genuinely have a good time …
HOWEVER. Survivors. Do you really think endlessly looping makes you a good player? Are you proud with the only skill in your bag of tricks being the ability to find one spot on a map where a killer can’t navigate easily and just loop it into oblivion? I’m the first killer to commend an incredibly talented survivor. When I go up against a survivor that can lead me on a chase that doesn’t involve more than one go around a loop, THAT is impressive. Doing the same thing over and over again? Not impressive. I can’t help but imagine all of these survivors who would be completely S.O.L. if the developers came up with more ways to kill loops. Probably the same ones that would complain (like I am doing now I realize) about how killers are too tough
So, I ask - are you proud?

Jokes on you.
I've never been proud of anything in my life.

What on the survivor side involves skill? Totems? NOPE. Generators? ######### no. Med-kits/heal? Nope. Flashlights? Yes...Takes some practice and skill. Outside of that it's running the killers (Looping/time consumption) that's about it. if a survivor is using the same loop on you for a long time they are skillful or you are just bad.

What in the ######### is the purpose of this thread?

My mommy told me I did good, so yes

If I can run the killer for multiple gens and make my team win this way, it gives me a good feeling. „Proud“ isn’t the right word here.

Do bones, you filthy killer main.
5 -
To create even more of a divide between the community.

I guess so. It’s very sad.

My lack of pride is one of my great qualities.
2 -
What are survivors supposed to do then? Just hold forward till hit and get downed?
Nah..

I agree. I would also argue that being stealthy and being able to misdirect the killer also takes skill. Maybe not as much as looping but still

Looping is literally the only skillful thing on survivor if you can make multiple loops without dropping the pallet is a sign of game knowledge. Being able to chain multiple tiles to gather takes skill. Holding w and dropping a pallet aspa is not skill but a lack of.

Drop chase and go after someone else instead of coming to the forums complaining about how you lost 5 gens to skilled player.

Lack of pride is important, mate.
However, I would be way more proud that I outplayed a killer in a loop instead of "outplaying" them by holding W and pre-dropping every pallet.

Thanks for all of the feedback folks. However, I only asked if you’re proud of how you play looping killers into eternity. Thanks to those who actually took the time to read my post and answer accordingly.

The real question is why are you as a killer spending that much time on one loop? If I'm looping a killer into oblivion as you put it on a single loop and not getting pushed off or being caught up to with bloodlust, no I don't feel proud I feel like I just went against a complete braindead killer who doesn't know how to play.

Plenty of people on both sides abuse a lot of unbalanced stuff in the game and it pumps their ego.
Yes they think they are skilled and like to bm their opponents like they outplayed them and did something incredible. I would say that this game attracts tons of people who can't achieve anything skillful in video games in general so they feed their narcissism in dbd.

Part of being a good Killer is know when to stop chasing, if you're looped for say 3 rotations and the pallet is still there, then move on.
You can gain the time back my proxy camping and tunneling. You won't have to chase if they come to you.

I'd be proud of my looping skills if my teammates ever did anything other than hide in a corner self caring (while healed, don't ask how they do it, they do).
for real though, no, it's a game. I'm not going to be proud to the point of arrogance.

Simple loops that quickly waste pallets is not skill.
Efficient looping saving pallets in as many areas is, as much as you might not like it.

Jason?

Looping is the skillful part of playing survivor, if a survivor loops good then they have skill, what is the point of this?
1 -
Looping bad, you should spawn already on the dying state, then good.

I pooped today so yeah im proud of myself

If i dont die and the killer wastes time on me on just one loop?
Yes, i feel extremely proud.

I am proud my Dwelf makes jingle noises when he loops.

No

Agreed. One side note though (As much as I hate it) Holding W and Pre-dropping ties into game knowledge as well. If you know your team are on gens you could do this without risking a down and win the game in one chase. Greeding pallets and going down saves a pallet but then starts a potential snowball. When you go down at minimum is takes 2 survivors off gens (you and rescuer) and worst case 3 off gens (You on hook, rescuer, one in chase). I hate this playstyle but also can't deny it's effectiveness as long as your team is on gens.
I would rather have my solo teammate stay on his feet for 2 minutes than go down in 10-20 sec saving a pallet. Hard to get back even/on track in solo when people go down fast.

There is some genuinely amazing insight coming from this otherwise somewhat toxic pool of responses. Keep it coming, folks! I'm learning :)

"I’m the first killer to commend an incredibly talented survivor. When I go up against a survivor that can lead me on a chase that doesn’t involve more than one go around a loop, THAT is impressive"
Out of interest, how do these Survivors lead you on a chase that lasts longer than 10 seconds which doesn't involve using a loop? Given that Killers are faster than Survivors.

While I kinda share this sentiment, its kinda a thought best had in private. This post accomplishes absolutely nothing. Survivor's aren't going to suddenly become ashamed of their actions and stop using the strong loops available to them. It has nothing to do with pride, thats just kinda how you play the game. And also, if a survivor is using a strong loop, go chase someone else. Identifying a chase that's going on too long and knowing to drop it is a skill that will help keep gens from flying too fast.
