My record is validated 4 times in one game, while having less than 30 ms ping. But this is to punish "lagging" killers, right? So it's fine...
It was annoying with pallets, but who the ######### thought it's good idea to use it for Dead Hard too...

A perfectly timed Dead Hard.
That crisp fake-out vault. You thought she'd fast-vault immediately. Wrong. She simply kicked her router in order to outplay you.

Look closer. After the swing, the killer's camera gets janky and gets locked skipping frames. Same for his movement. It's not the survivor who lagged out.

The item disappears when she tries to vault.
If he was having an issue connecting to the server, the item would not have disappeared. She simply would have kept running into the wall. Likewise, he does not revert to his original position as one would expect if the connection to the server was funky.
Therefore, the connection issue was on the Survivors end.

That's not how desync works. He lost control of his character. That's client-sided. Anything else that happens around is going to be random through interpolation and rolls back because the client is getting info from the server.

It's not about being outplayed unless your blind and didnt see how hit validation helped the survivor in that clip. I for one dont mind DH but now with the validation bug it screws with me alot when I get the blood and scream but then they are long gone.
What's worse is that those "hits" are still counting as hits because I was on Oni went to do a attack and bam Validation bug but still got the blood for damaging the player. So there is something screwy going on.

Honestly, every time BHVR implements one of those "Validation" things, they always create nothing but frustration and unfair situations over and over again.
I remember that one time when the Pallet Validation was introduced... I hit a David with my Chainsaw, I heard his scream, I saw the blood and he just walked away as if nothing had happened. And he was the one who was lagging, not me.

It would be less frustrating if it didn't exist, tbh.
I mean, if you are lagging, you should expect to have some weird situations instead of being catered by a mechanic, and that goes for both survivors and killers.

Please enlighten me how do you know other players ping? OPs first line clearly refers to killers with ping under 40 ms.
Also the jankyness comes from the fact that the server and client both need to sync which was poorly implemented, as always

Thats how serversided hit validation works. Just because it doesnt look right on your side doesnt make it wrong. Just accept that the survivor used his DH at the right moment to dodge.

Dude you can literally see the survivor getting a laggy window vault in the video.
Aka the survivor is lagging and DIDN'T use their DH in time.

Not how it works, the dead hard arrived to the server earlier, so you were the one lagging behind.
Just because someone appears to lag for you, doesnt mean your POV is the right one.

Not how that works tho. What happens there is that the connection issue is between the server and the killer.
Survivors are not directly connected to killers anymore.
Also adding in the fact that the survivor loses their item while still being in the corner, where there is no vault option, only for them to be snapped back to the window later on.
You cannot use what happens on the killer's screen to decide what happens.

Because having a perk not work as it's supposed to is healthy?
Nah, you might dislike Dead Hard, but that's no excuse for survivors who did time their Dead Hard properly to be punished with a down simply because the Killer was an annoying childhood friend during tag being like "NUH-UH, I DID HIT YOU" and then you still being "tagged" even though you were already a floor below before they even screamed they tagged you.

I've seen it work both ways tbh.
Ive seen Hatchet's hit people behind walls, ive been pallet stunned after i landed a hit, i've landed hits when i should have been stunned.

It can't always be our connection that's the problem. It just can't. Survivors have it way too easy with this rollback. It clearly favors them.

Oh right, because it's so healthy now... It's super frustrating for killers. I used DH and got exhousted a lot of times on ground, but that was something I knew is part of that perk. It was one of most used perks anyway.
What do you mean, not work? Main value from DH is distance and that worked.
Thing is: survivor has option to use it earlier, killer doesn't have option to hit later, unless you are in open, but at that point you are dead anyway, but when you are near pallet, you just have to go for it.

The game needs to move to full server authority to make it fair and neutral. Hits are still handled on The Killer's end. I can guarantee you that survivor players continue to endure fake hits that the server doesn't validate because hit validation is exceptionally lenient. I made a topic about being extraordinarily laggy, and every hit still connected for me.
The real news here is that killer players are so accustomed to hits being authoritatively handled on their client that as the game moves things to the server, they feel deprived of hits that they were never entitled to in the first place. Meanwhile, survivor players have been dealing with fake hits for years!

Well to be honest there is no intonation in written sarcasm so you either have to go over the top with it or clearly mark it. (And yes I know explaining a joke isn't funny)
@topic funny enough that i have been validated only once overall since the implemented it and that was and intentional (questionably) late hit through a pallet.
But i have had multiple grabs get faked out and even a locker pull one time. I start the locker anymation and the survivor still slips out and runs away while I was stick with the pull animation only that it could cancelled midway and I couldn't move for the remaining duration of it.

I've had a few grabs get ignored when playing Spirit. It goes to grab them and even counts as a grab for challenge purposes but they then run off. It's not right.

Most of this hits shouldve been downs i made a correct read, the survivor screws up but yet im the one who gets punished. Its simply bad game design.
