The New Map Is So Survivor-Sided

This really needs to be looked at...

The map is SO big,

It has SO many pallets, SO close together as well.

The main building is busted and the breakable walls make it even more painful for killers.

This map is so ridiculous balance wise it is miserable to play on as killer.

The Main Building needs some changes but in other way the Map is fine as Killer

I'm not sure I agree, honestly. There are a fair number of pallets on the outside, but none of them seem to be particularly godly, most of them seem like ones you can mindgame. It's big, but the spread of important objects (mostly generators) isn't too bad, and there thankfully aren't any generators higher up, which is a bonus. If you ignore the generator by shack, the rest are pretty easily patrollable.

It's not killer sided either, and a few killers (mostly Trapper) do pretty poorly on there, but it's not that bad.

    That map sucks.

It is bad for both sides.

You make a good point, no gen high up is a definitely a plus.

In my experience lots of the pallets are very short loops though so no mindgames possible, idk I just really struggle on the map.

People keep saying it's average size but it really seems big. The main building is definitely busted and needs to be looked at.

There's also some strong tiles that can be right out side the window that can be a problem. Other then that it looks nice.

I don't mind the new map. The LoS on it is crazy high and the gen spread is actually rather tight. The only issue I have on the killer side of things is the 3 god window mandatory breakable walls in the main building. Also that it's a horrible map for stealth killers. Everything else seems quite fair and balanced.

...The ink sounds are really annoying though.

    The map is really weird.

The map itself is huge, but the actual generators are relatively close together.

The openes of it is pretty good for ranged killers. The few times i played trickster on it i completly destroyed the survivors. A good huntress on this map would probably be devestating

I can imagine billy having a really easy time manouvering around too

Seems to be a map that will be horrible for some killers (poor trapper) and okay for others

There are worse. It reminds me a bit of Temple of Purgation: it favors survivors, but at least it's not bad to play on compared to Haddonfield, Badham, Cowshed, etc.

It wouldn't be so bad if the tiles weren't stacked by the main building so hard.

Main building window into an LT tile is no bueno

Just to clarify, Eyrie of Crows is 9984 square meters, the same exact size as a bunch of other maps. All the maps below are this size

    • Groaning Storehouse
    • Fractured Cowshed
    • Temple of Purgation
    • Both Yamoka Estate maps
    • Ormond
    • Eyrie of Crows

There are maps larger than all of these as well. All of these maps also have a main larger building in the middle of the map. I think Eyrie is probably most similar to Ormond personally, since they both have bright outdoors, not much grass, and a strong central multifloor building with a few safe pallets and breakable walls. I don’t know exactly where Eyrie falls in the balance spectrum for survivors but Ormond is generally thought to have a higher than average escape rate so it wouldn’t surprise me if Eyrie is similar.

The main building is horrible (please stop doing vertical things if you're never going to fix your damn vertical audio) with all the walls etc., the environmental ink noises are ridiculous, and I guess it totally sucks for trapper and stealth killers because nothing to hide in AND NOBODY BLENDS IN.

The actual layout outside of the main building is fine, though?

Everytime I've been on that map the doors are right next to eachother with a clear view, can perfectly see exit gate lights of either. Even if survivors do well in the match the killer just gets them at the doors when they try to open them because they are so close and easy to monitor. It's like they made it for survivors to do well during the match and then programmed the doors to spawn in a way for the killer to catch up during end game.

The map actually resembles old Ormond.. in the way that the main building isnt very strong on its own, but is made REALLY strong since its pretty much in the middle of everything, allowing a Survivor to chain every loop on the map thanks to it, since when they run out of ressources in 1 spot they can use main building to chain to another

its also pretty big, which is also a big downside

Where are you getting the info from? I heard a couple of people say it's on the wiki but that's about it. The map seems so big.

Honestly, I think the map is just one more instance of the game needing an audio overhaul because it's somehow true 3D but the audio and all perk radiuses are 2D?

And whoever did the ink noises needs to be bonked.

honestly I just find it to be a very boring map

Atleast rpd had the cool music rooms

Most those maps around its size are bad for killers to be fair. It's so weird because it feels so much bigger then Ormond.

The map is extremely survivor sided and anyone that says otherwise isn't logical.

A lot of streamers agree, even a lot of survivor players... It isn't hard to see the map is survivor sided since the main building is nuts and so many loops/pallets connect to each other.

    So, working as intended then?

Right, I’m not commenting on how good or bad Eyrie is for survivors, I’m just pointing out that it’s actually a pretty common size for outdoor maps with a big building in the middle. I’m not sure why so many people seem to think Eyrie is larger than it actually is, maybe it’s an optical illusion because of its brightness and uneven terrain? Or maybe it’s because the buildings outer facade is so tall? (The actual building layout probably isn’t any bigger than Ironworks or Ormond’s building. It just looks weirder.)

This map is broken. It's almost like the community doesn't want big maps in the game.

It was nice for Fragrant Tuft Myers when I could go up to the balconies and stalk. On the other hand, my experience on it as Trapper I would just like to somehow purge from my memory.
