Kill Switch update: The issue affecting Baermar Uraz's Ugly Sweater has been fixed and the cosmetic has been reenabled in all queues with this update.

SKILL BASED MATCHMAKING IS EVEN WORSE

Hi there!I play Dbd for a good amount of time.Last 2 weeks whenever I get into solo queue is almost a nightmare.I am looping the killer for the entire game and my team will never save me from the hook.Or they would be hiding and not doing gens.

When I get into their steam account,I see players with 5 hours ,maximum 200 hours into the game, when I have 3.000 hours.

It's obvious that they do not know basic things about the game, from the way they play. Not their fault at all.

All am saying is that how can this be SKILL based matchmaking.

Previous rank system, was at least average!I would get 5 games with rank 16 players, and other 5 with higher ranks.

Now I only play with people who have 0 hours in the game.It is sad really, cause after a while I just dont see the point on getting into another game.

I am being chased by the killer for 5 gens, all I am asking is to get off the exits, and say ''it was fun'',but instead I get people hiding, leaving right away or suicide save me in EVERY SINGLE GAME.

The only rewarding thing that this game has ,is the bloodpoints, and the joy of getting better into the game.See our team have fun either they will die or not.Cooporating with each other for the best result possible.

Well by going into match with peopel who have zero knowledge about the game,I lose bloodpoints, I do not have fun,and even if I loop the killer and I am so excited,in the end is a huge disapointment because there is 0 progress in the match.

Its an never ending headache, the last 2 weeks.

I do not wanna blame anyone,I am just sad that I can not enjoythe game i have been loving for years.

You won't get good teammates unless you SWF, you won't get good teammates because theres way too manny high MMR survivors compared to killer. The average killer player doesnt exist anymore, they either quit DbD or they are playing Survivor, further unbalancing matchmaking. TO "Balance" Skill levels matchmaking has to throw Survivors into random groups to give whatever killer players are around a somewhat fair game. It not fair for anyone tho...Such has been DbD's matchmaking.

I agree with this. As an okay survivor and BAD killer - I have had no fun playing as killer lately since it’s so unbalanced. My usual is being matched with two bloody rank, one gold, and random beyond that. I’m brown rank 3. It’s not fun and I imagine unless the survivors really enjoy looping, they aren’t having fun either. The game needs to incentivize more folks to play as killer. Perhaps through killer specific bonuses etc. It is so bad that I have become someone who pretty much only plays as survivor. I’m part of your negative feedback loop, DBD.

It's skill-based in name only, the old emblem system was imperfect, but it looked at overall ability. This one just considers an escape or kill.

A survivor that gets out with no points is better than one that maxes out half his emblems but dies. The survivor that kept the killer busy so the game could be won, not as good as the guy that just moved to lose his crows, but escaped. The survivor that safe unhooked, took aggro, did gens, kept his team alive but died on his third hook, not as good as the guy who's SWF carried him the entire game. If you have friends that are really good, you can be one of the best survivors just by following them. Sucks to be you guys that play so well but die because you keep trying to save people and accomplish goals.

A killer that kills by always tunneling is better than a killer that goes for the 12 hook, earns 3 Iridescents but the survivors get out right before last hook. I have lots of games where I outscore escaping survivors, but they're still better because when they teabagged too far from the exit, their team was able to block me from the pickup. If one of his team dies doing this, that means he's inferior to the one that screwed up.

When the killer gives hatch, that means that last survivor was the best player in the match, regardless of his ability or plays. I like giving hatch to be merciful, I'm willing to let the receiver get BP that are rightfully mine, but now I'm also telling the MMR "This guy is the best player in the trial." That's a mixed blessing and inaccurate.

I don't think I've ever given hatch to the best player in the trial, when I give hatch, I'M the best player in the trial. That's kinda why I do it, to give a little "keep your chin up" to the other side because they shouldn't have been matched with me.

It's just so backwards. The game was better without the win system being as simple as possible. This encourages behavior that makes the game less fun for both sides. The emblem system isn't perfect, but it better reflects what makes DBD fun. It encourages you to play rather than just specialize in killing/escaping.

    No one likes this.

Slight correction- hatch doesn't count for MMR at all, it doesn't count as a win or a loss for either side.

We have many post like this lately and dbd isn't my only online game I ever played and I just have to ask do some of you know a game where the matchmaking really works I mean every matchmaking works that way that you just need to wait a bit longer on high mmr to get a game where you just can stomp like hell and I think that isn't fair.

It's on bhvr to make sure the game is balanced to the point we have enough players on all ranks to make matchmaking as short as possible but throwing a high mmr swf into my face that are so much better then me so I don't get a single hook is just crazy. I have no problem with saying I am not the best killer but against survs at my skill lvl I really enjoy it I don't need to be that high mmr monster nurse that goes 4k every game but decent games would be nice

@Starrseed I agree.I am not asking to win every game. All I am asking is to get into games, and not being scared that I will die on 1st hook after all gens are done.I need to use deliverance,ds and all the tryhard build that hopefully will get me through the game.

As a DBD a player that has a good knowledge of the game so far,I love trying new builds....

But I can not anymore. If I do and get hooked with these builds,I am not sure if anyone will come to save me.I am scared that after a 6 minute chase,no gens will be done, and noone will save me.

I feel this video explains a lot https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOPkrWVxCTk

The worst is survivors and killer need to run these high meta try hard perks to some what enjoy the game but most of these perks are locked behind money or a abysmal grind I don't want to know how long it would take to buy every killer to get the meta perks with shards plus grinding all there blood webs and while u are at it you don't have these perks so you suffer

Edit: just watched the vid and yes that guy explains it really good it was from before mmr hit us and it's like this guy had a vision of the furtur because all he said came true
