Here is a nerf idea for Bubba.
Face camping bubba needs a nerf. If you see bubba, 90% chance he is Gonna be a facecamper. Prolly gonna run insidouis. A nerf to bubba would be once he hits a survivor he throws a tantrum immediately. No more knocking two guys while unhooking. Borrowed time would actually mean something.

1) that wouldn't work because he'd STILL HIT THEM
2) "This tactic is bad, try to nerf character into oblivion!" is not a good balance approach, no matter how many times it's been done by BHVR

Survivors REALLY want this game to die it feels
51 -
Can't wait for non-camping Bubbas to get punished with 2 gens getting done during the 8-second-long tantrum!
28 -
no... as much as i hate bubba (the bad ones) They need to nerf it so it will
only affect camping
. with this change ur suggesting it will NERF GENERAL BUBBA GAMEPLAY. and that i don't want10 -
play more bubba. i think getting instadowned is frustrating but we love good bubbies
4 -
You are obviously new so I'll be nice, but no.
I rarely run into face camping bubbas, most play the game normally until all gens are done then facecamp to secure the 1-2k.
Bubba is a very fair/balanced killer that only shits on lower tier players that don't know how to abuse windows, use lockers, and connect loops.
7 -
No. Your idea will force Bubbas to camp even more because you nerfed their 1v1, when they don't have a 1v4. It's what happened with Trickster when they reduced his knife amount to 44
12 -
I considered these changes before.
- Chainsaw stops (not activating tantrum) instantly once it hits a signle survivor, not continuously revving and hitting more than one survivor. (Speed Limiter and both Iri addons can be exceptional.)
- Cooldown lasts for a while when he cancels chainsaw charge (even with small percentage) which will make grab less powerful.
But I don't think these changes will be updated.
Because the best way to play against camping Bubba is to forget about teammate and do generators.

I got a better idea for a bubba nerf I really think this is a good one. Bubba nerf Idea: Leave him as he is.

Hide in the locker, use the pallet, vault window if you have distance. Just think.

They will give it time.

Bubba is one of the most balanced Killers in the game. Leave him alone!

How does hiding in a locker work? If he tantrums you'll get downed when you try to leave or he just back pedals.
Side question does he lose charges when he hits a survivor?

Funny enough I just posted my own thread about my experience playing Bubba some 30+ games in the last couple of days. I took pains no to face-camp and roam the map, pressuring gens, and I still got plents of 3-4K, but also plenty of DCs, salt and insults.
The thing with Bubba is that he is essentially always dangerous, like a killer should be. You can't do all this "funny" "quirky" things like running circles around him and body blocking for ages and then escape when he wipes his blade clean, because you got no second health state to bank on against him, if he gets his chainsaw reved up, its game over man. And I think a lot of the better survivors have become so used to playing and toying with the killer, that they sorta don't respect him anymore. And this kinda tactics don't work with Bubba, its sorta like back in the beginning, when killers were this big, imposing, undefeatable monolith, and if cocky survivors get floored than its always the unfair killers kit, ie "nice face-camping", "lmao (BAD WORD) tunneling (BAD WORD)" and other niceties.
So I would wish for more killers to be this dangerous and to be able to put the fear back into the survivors, but I got no clue how. I just hope that cute, little Bubba won't be nerfed, I really like to play him every now and then and he is some easy farming. So when people say that you can't play him any other way then the face-camper, I call BS, because I was very successful with him roaming around. Of course some groups will slam gens so efficient that you got next to no chance, but even then you can get the occasional 1-2K or even more, if they get cocky with their rescue attempts.
5 -
Yep if you are out of position Bubba can/will wreck you. There are plenty of counters to Bubba so use them OP!

I like this.
4 -
No, that would nerf a 'C' tier killer to below Legion level.
BHVR are adding a mechanical change to discourage facecamping down the line.
But - think of it this way. Camping is about as fun for the killer as it is for the survivors. Maybe if Bubba got some love, he'd facecamp less?
1 -
While I do think Bubba was a bit overbuffed with his rework, such nerf is pretty unnecessary and useless, since the Tantrum still damages survivors.
0 -
You have a small window of time to escape from a locker after his tantrum/chainsaw sweep ends. It takes some practice and precision to succesfully do it.
1 -
I don’t think he needs a nerf. When bubbas actually decide to play the game (which is rare) he is fine. It’s when they start face camping early in the game. But that’s with all killers tbh

What a terrible idea.
6 -
BHVR have acknowledged that facecamping is a problem - but want to add a more surgical fix to facecamping overall that won't stop proxy camping (which is just killers doing what they should).
2 -
That idea punishes bubbas who aren’t camping.
Downed someone in a chase? Cool, time to wait 8 seconds before I can pick up and hook.
If you come out of the locker w/ perfect timing you can avoid being chainsawed. And no, there is no charge penalty for hitting someone.
4 -
Just give a 6 second i-frame window to the unhooked to Bubba's chainsaw, and if a second saw hits, it procs BT if applied (since he can catch up after an initial hit). Only on his saw, though, as a botched unhook will still penalize the survivors if he can just M1.
This isn't a nerf so much as a fix to Bubba's bad gimmick that isn't even applicable to those who actually play him normally. You'll still instadown the unhooker. Leave him untouched otherwise.

I just think his rework was a bit...over the top. All they had to do was remove his movement speed penalty and make sure his add-ons worked properly and he would've been in a good spot.
However, that doesn't mean his current version needs to get nerfed to the ground.

Can’t nerf camping without reworking gens
4 -
I actually want a QoL buff on Bubba: when chainsawing, you are locked in a neutral hight POV and you have to wait for the full duration until you can look down and search for a survivor. It sometimes feels sooo frigging long till you can look down again, and survivors sometimes use this time to crawl away and into some pretty unintuitive places. So lemmy look down sooner :D
1 -
Or unless there is a situation where there is more than one survivor on a gen, or In a hallway, or anywhere else where a good chainsaw hit to both would be appropriate and good. The nerf you suggested would take his uniqueness away and give us a killer with 2 m1s
0 -
That wont nerf facecamping, but will nerf your everyday bubba time. This would probably result in more bubbas facecamping than before.
1 -
So funny!
1 -
So as long as you don't see it, it's not an issue? Are you one of those types who says climate change is BS every year if there is snow in your front yard come winter?
2 -
You have literally a lot of second chances to use against facecamping. Decisive and unbreakable makes his facecamp strategy wasted. Besides that change would make him a worse Billy.
1 -
Or maybe think why it is that more killers start to facecamp (not only bubba's) and fix that problem? 😉
I mean look at what a killer has to do vs what a survivor has to do?
5 gens fixing and open up gates vs getting 12 hooks (3 times hooking a survivor)
Now on first sight this doesn't seem that much of a difference however, if you look at the time survivors have vs the time killers have then it does.
Let's say 2 survivors start on a gen and 1 survivor starts 10m away in front of the killer, you down that survivor in 30-40s and 2 survivors done 1 gen.
And you don't have that survivor hooked yet.
Now this is just an ideal scenario.
Ofcourse there is much more in play for both sides.
Bottom line, they need make playing killer more attractive and buff the lower tier killers.
If that is done, then they can look at things to be nerfed on either side.
Also they need to get rid of the dumb sbmm, that imo destroys the game as it is based on jack sh1t.

He is fine. Is there anything else you survivors want for killers. Maybe 5 minute cool down after each hit. Or anything. Or maybe toolboxes in our bloodwebs to help with gens
3 -
The change you proposed will punish a good bubba players that can down survivors with his chainsaw in one sweep. If you really have a problem with facecamping you can always use slippery meat + up the ante + decisive + unbreakable/dead hard. Survivor is not meant to win against 1vs1 but either waste them as much as possible to let his team to rush gens and win.
2 -
Bubba is fine. Just leave him alone and do gens while he camps.
4 -
The developers have always said that they want the killer to do -2
When you camp on Bubba, you will always do -1 only if survs rep gens
And what about nerf ?
I dont understand 🐯

Learn the exact timing of when his tantrum hitbox ends, then immediately jump out, he'll be forced to M1 or wait for a charge and by then you'll have time to get to some kind of loop.
Side answer: Nope, he doesn't, if he downs you with 1 charge he'll keep the other 2.
1 -
The correct answer is to be a bubba main.
1 -
Clearly a you're a face camping bubba
2 -
How can I waste the killers time when I get downed damn near instantly with a face camping bubba even with BT. Please explain i'll wait.
2 -
Decisive strike + unbreakable will give you 60 seconds of immunity. That's like an one hook stage. If the killer picks you up in that time you can either loop him or he will stop trying to tunnel you.
1 -
This removes the entire purpose of bubba’s normal gameplay, this will be punishing him for hitting a survivor
1 -
Yikes

You should have played Day 1 Bubba a few years back. He couldn't even catch up to Sprint Burst.
0 -
Ask yourself the question of why you are downed near instantly?
Were you greedy and tried to do a gen in his face?
Yes?
Then that is your fault.
Did you not pay attention and let yourself get caught in the open?
Yes?
Then again that is your fault.
Did you not throw a pallet while he was in a chainsaw sweep?
No?
Again your fault.
If he downs you near instantly then most likely (not always) it will be your own mistake.
Use windows to force a M1 instead of a chainsaw.
Know when to drop pallets when he's chasing you.
Use your surroundings i.e trees, walls, or anything to get him to bump into.
There are many ways to make sure you don't get hit or decrease the chance to get hit by his chainsaw.
And to be clear, no i don't condone facecamping.
At least not when 4 or 5 gens are still up, during egc on the other hand i do agree with it.
1 -
Not wanting to be facecamped = wanting the game to die.
2 -
His 1v1 would be unaffected, what would be affected is his crowd control
Also Tricksters knife count was reduced to 44 to compensate the amount of knives it now takes to damage, in a perfect world where you hit all knives you can damage for 7 health states and then hit 2 knives, compared to before where you could hit 7 health states and 4 knives.
If they wanted to keep things consistent they could of went with 45, how ever I believe in some asian languages the number 4 sounds similar to "death". So its just a thematic thing (I dont remember where I heard/saw this, but if some one reads this and actually knows please correct me)

I think it's more about how his proposed fix would make the killer hit garbage (though the first with 2 different M1 attacks)
