There is no way on God's blessed green Earth that you saw Circle of Healing and thought that was okay to release.

Same with every map you've released since Hawkins, same with Pinhead and how he breaks his own chains, etc.

All feedback submitted to you is promptly ignored entirely, and I just don't know why. Why do you ignore your community? Why do you think people complain about what they complain about?

What are you so afraid of? You don't know the game as well as you think you do, and as Developers that is beyond not okay, it is unacceptable in every capacity.

And STOP TAKING SO LONG TO PUSH CHANGES. Perk changes should be EVERY. SINGLE. MONTH. There are FAR too many for this not to be the standard.

You can add windows of opportunity, Deathslinger(even if they overdid it) and spirit to that list. They definitely take feedback but not often enough and pretty much never go back on changes they make

Decisive Strike and Object were good changes.

Nemesis and Trickster changed nothing, Trickster is still unfun to go against and Nemesis is still a joke because Survivors have 3 health states against his tentacle. That and his Zombie AI is woefully bad and half the time they get stuck on nothing.

Deathslinger got BUTCHERED and I have yet to see anybody who approved of it besides the most staunch Deathslinger haters.

This is the problem, they make changes but are so bull headed about it that even when everyone HATES the changes, they refuse to budge. It's borderline childish, NO ONE wanted Hillbilly to have the overheat mechanic.

I think the tentacle is balanced, as how easier it is to hit a surv than M1, and it being able to hit survivors over a pallet. However, I do agree with the Zombie AI, they often take a liking to humping [ Insert Random Object Here ] rather than using pathfinding to the survivor they are aware of.

People were saying deathslinger needed his instant ads nerfed and the devs did so. People also hated his synergy with moniter so they nerfed that too

Again not a great change because lack of any compensation but they had the right idea.

Billy’s nerf was uncalled for though

Trickster is still very unfun to face, yes, but he's much stronger now than he was on PTB.

„If they don’t directly react to my personal takes on the game they ignore community feedback“

you realize the community consists of more than only top skill players or even just only the forums? They are often listening and even implementing community feedback. It’s just that most of the time there is actually contradicting feedback. And they are factoring in statistics (and no, not only those that they have shown us, that’s pretty much only the tip of the iceberg)

I think mods are kind of tunnel and they filter any ibformation that is eventually passed further. I dont think any dev is checking on forum except times he/she gets a direct link to the issue.

Seems like they are afraid of community reaction to any changes (was clearly hearable while they showed us new OOO).

I dont think our opinion on this forum has bug impact on what are we getting into the game unfortunately. Way of implementation is also mostly terrible.

Thats simply very sad. I understand there are many people who thinks completely different (First topic: "Trickster is Op, nerf him!!" | Second topic: "Trickster is very weak, buff him!!") but I dont think its a reason to ignore the whole community anyway.

This wouldn't be an issue if they played their game.

They don't, and if they do they certainly are NOT facing top players. These are the people who took 2 years to decide Survivor MMR would be based on escapes.

All he needed was a cooldown on his ADS, like 2-3 seconds. Instead they actively made their game worse, he feels bad. VERY bad.

He definitely does but again people were asking for these nerfs

    • The changes to keys and moris were similar to feedback on the forums.
    • Deathslinger’s change to instant shots and Pyramid Head’s ranged attack changes were also similar to things people suggested.
    • The change from pressing space bar over and over to using a skill check for second hook stage was something suggested on the forums
    • Spirit’s nerf was possibly in response to people saying survivors needed a way to react to her phasing
    • Just recently one of the devs took informally asked on the forums if people thought they should remove opponents’ Grades from the endgame screen since it causes a lot of confusion with players who think they’re used for matchmaking. (The response was a universal Yes so this might be a change they’ll implement at some point.)

Those are things just off the top of my head that were changes that were similar to ones suggested on the forums. The forums also have a ton of bad suggestions that obviously the devs ignore.

Also note that their usual schedule now for initial balance passes after content releases is they do changes about three months or so later. Presumably they need that time for the meta to stabilize a bit around the new content and then to gather data and test the changes they make. We’ll probably be seeing a balance pass on Mikaela around January’s mid-chapter patch would be my guess, including Boon tweaks (most likely a nerf to Circle of Healing assuming the data verifies the forum consensus that it’s healing speed is too fast.)

Times they took feedback into account?

    1. They nerfed Spirit, using the positive response from when she was bugged as a reference keeping her strong but more fair.

    2. They nerfed DS.

    3. Despite them stating that they were statically irrelevant, they still nerfed keys.

    4. One of the few times they went back on a change was when they took away Oni's ability to flick. The backlash was severe enough they reverted the change but with a 90 degree cap (unless you have a cracked dpi or something).

    5. Object of Obsession nerf

    6. Nerf to toolboxes

    7. Undying rework

    8. Reworking Pig's add-ons despite their own statistics she's performing very well/too well.

Make no mistake, they anger me beyond belief at times. But they do listen... sometimes.

Yes but Grim Reaper. You know yourself at 740 posts. It took years of repeating the same stuff to them. They honestly don't listen. The game is at its peak and is about to die as soon as better games come out like VHS etc who actually take in feedback. These developers designed "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked". I really don't think the staff give a stuff about this game. Sorry opinion.

Unless otherwise stated I doubt that majority of feedback is used for anything but creating a false hope.

You have completely ignored what I just said….

and many of them do play and some even stream their game. But they won’t decide on gameplay changes solely from their own experience and expecting that from devs is delusional.

they should of course consider the higher skilled players more, I am not saying their decisions are great or anything.

Yeah duh, don’t you remember the HUD changes, the deathslinger nerf, the hilbilly nerf, the way they brought solo survivors to swf’s level, lucky breaks change?

They didn't brought solo survivors to swf's level, what do you mean?

The point is that we have to fight tooth and nail to get them to implement anything, when any other devs would be like "Those are really good ideas. Let's do that."

I'm sorry, the post asked if any feedback was ever taken into account and implemented in the game. I responded with proof that yes, it's happened before.

They never listen? Remember the Mori nerf, Hatch and Key nerf? DS and OoO nerf? They listen, not that often but they do

"Taking feedback" =/= "Immediately doing exactly what that feedback says".

For all their flaws, BHVR very clearly do listen to the community- that's just not the only thing they have to consider when it comes to making changes to the game. Even so, they've added quite a few requested changes recently- the ones everyone's mentioned, but also Trapper getting two bags by default, changing the UI after its first implementation was widely disliked, nerfing boons after the PTB (albeit not nerfing CoH specifically, which people have since realised was the bigger problem anyway), and others.

Always remember that even within the community, a small sliver of the things that BHVR actually has to juggle and weigh as game devs, there's a gigantic amount of debate and argument over exactly what's necessary for the game. The majority you see asking for a specific change may not actually be a majority when you zoom out to see the entirety of the community's feedback.

The overheat mechanic is useless unless you're actively trying to overheat the chainsaw. That aside, people wanted Billy to have a mechanic that would stop him from infinitely zooming around the map.

Those are all things the community had a strong opinion on but the devs did the opposite or didnt do it
