I'm a bit worried about the Ring Killer's look
We know the girl in the TV is coming, and as much as we're all hoping for good gameplay from it, i think its safe to say her look is also important. The look helps make the character
But after seeing how the girl looks in Ringu, i'm a bit concerned its not enough to give the character the creepy feel its know for.
For example
I understand the Devs wanting to use the original movie, but i hope they take the look more from the remake version.
What do u guys think?

My understanding, based on the language in the official reveal, is that they're going for the original story the movie is based on- so maybe they'll be doing their own design, not one of the two movie designs? Just a possibility, not a guarantee.

I'm a fan of both the original Japanese version and the remake, but I'd agree that the remake version is significantly creepier.
That said - we'll have to see. I'm more curious about her kit and perks to be honest. Artist was fantastic but Cenobite was...eh.

First look - killers 1st person view.
Will be a quite challenging killer to play...

I imagine it will be a bit like The Clown's Mr. Puddle's where you can sort of see "through" his snout.

How does Pyramid Head see then?

No! The remake sucks. An Onryo has the same clotes after her death and that's why she looks clean and tbh Sadako looks more realistic than Samara.

If we take on account the first movie was a low budget flick and Sadako was just an actress with a wig (or her hair) over her face and white powder to make her look like a corpse, the look was very... simple and not very spectral. Odds are they are going for one of the sequels since those had a higher budget and way more make up.
P.D. the one who got licensed is Sadako Yamamura not Samara Morgan from the USA version or thats what I understand so I dont expect anything looking like Samara.

If they're going by the Japanese version which they clearly are then the killer should reflect that version more. It's still creepy either way and fear is all based on the person. What's creepier a girl with long hair coming at you with a water damaged dress and pale or a girl with long hair coming at you who looks weird but not dead it depends on if you're going for straight fear or unease.

yes.

But the remake one actually looks likes she's been a well for years.
The problem with the original look is that its too clean and simple

Ringu and The Ring are almost the exact same thing..................
There are some differences that are both subtle and easily noticeable but otherwise the movies match up almost shot for shot.
To say one sucks is to say the other sucks pretty much

The same way...

As long as she doesn't come up to us and ask for about $3.50 then I'm good.

Nah woman, don't give the corpse girl 3.50!

LOL so glad you got that. Damn Loch Ness monster needs to get out of our game

Loch Ness monster bent down and say 'i need about 3.50."

If you look in the description of the trailer it's based on both the movie and the book so really there's some liberties that can be taken

both movies have different atmosphere and those same scenes have different details and perfomance. Sadako's adoptive father doesn't kill himself in the original movie, Sadako uses only unkown sounds to warn her victims while Samara says "7 days" and there are more different stuff in the original movie.

sadako looks pale and dead and has no fingernails while samara looks like a zombie and i'm not scared of an unrealistic static 3d model.

again that's not a difference in the film. Both in Ringu and The Ring, Sadako/Samara are both played by actual actors. Samara in the American remake is not a 3d model. She's an actor with some CGI and a ######### ton of make-up. An unrealistic 3D model would be something like Goro in the new Mortal Kombat, who's pretty much all CGI. Now I'm not saying the Ring is better than Ringu. It's not. But saying it sucks is a far stretch. If you want to see a movie that sucks check out Slender Man or I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer

you didn't understand me. i meant to say that she looks like a static 3d model because of special effects while Sadako looks like a natural ghost.
The first part of I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer isn't that bad.

this is her look with the increased view from shadowborn.

I would also prefer the version from the remake.

There's also a lot of religious beliefs and cultural differences that westerners cannot even begin to understand without having lived in Japan for some time. This does not translate over well in movies. I liked the remake, but that's the American in me wanting to see an American take. However, it did remove a lot of the nuances in the Japanese version, which, when it came out was very original to American horror audiences that was looking for something different at that time. The remake had a different feel to it and some of the story was cut out even though the director wanted it to be very similar. I think the only reason why I liked the remake as much as I did (I give it a 6 out of 10) is because I already knew the story from the original version (which I give a 8 out of 10).
Anyway, i just wanted to add my thoughts into this. The two movies may have similar scenes, but they are still very different, especially if you're Japanese or saw the original first. The American version is very direct in its scares where the Japanese version had more subtlety and intrigue.
