BHVR how about fixing stretched res? Its literally cheating
I just saw that a discussion about this got closed so here it is again :)
Its litreally cheating and needs to be adressed, its one of the bigger reasons why I stopped playing Killer.
Any other game adjust themselves to the picked resolution so thats why you cannot do that, except dbd, dbd just stays at the same resolution which is just dumb.

It got closed because they don't ban stretch res users. They stated this multiple times.

ye well it is a weird reason to close a whole discussion cuz the op just said he thinks it should be fixed just as I wrote it here. I am not asking for bans, I am asking to change the game so it does adjust the resolution to your screen or options you took on your graphics card.

Bhvr hasn't done much about people running other cheats that are getting by the anti cheat system.
Doesn't seem like they really care.

or just dont know how to fix it.

Probably they don't know how to fix it

Do you have a link? Because I seem to remember one of the devs specifically posting a while back that they did consider it an exploit and Dowsey commented that they told Fog Whisperers not to do it.
P.S. If they don’t consider it cheating they wouldn’t close a thread on it over that. But they do close threads where someone explains how to cheat or encourages cheating, so if that was the case it could explain why a thread was closed on the topic.

sadly I couldnt read too much on the thread, I was about to comment something before it got closed cuz I wanted to answer the OP first and then read comments :C

I don't know much about how stretched resolution works, but isn't it a setting on your PC? So the game can't detect those kind of things?

You only have to check a box.

The game should absolutely be able to detect the resolution, that's not external to the program at all.
Particularly if you're going to have things like "can survivors see ghostface to deactivate his power" based off it.
The most amusingly straightforward suggestion I've seen was to just stick invisible ghostfaces around that would be set off by stretched resolution and take action based on that.

Ye but its not about detecting it, its actually used if you have a way too small screen or a way too big one, you know those really big curved TVs, some ppl play on them for some reason. So thats why this option exists, to change the resolution of the game so it fits to the huge TV which is totally fine, but some ######### use this on purpose to stretch the screen so they can look over walls and other tiles with that, same for killers, some killers stretch it so far to the sides so they can look without even turning the camera, which is pretty insane on killers like blight and nurse.
Any other game has an option in which changes the resolution automaticly to fit the resolution you change, but dbd doesnt has it for some reason, thats why I am requesting it to implement this option and that would fix this problem immidiatly.

yup that is the sad thing, they are litreally blind or just ignoring it on purpose.
2 -
They don't even ban cheaters you think they would ban stretch res users??
Games like fortnite (yes I'm not even kidding) do have a forced resolution so people won't abuse stretch res, so yes a competent decision can remove stretch res.

They are analizing the stats before checking the box 😂

Sadly there is a lack of sportsmanship.
It may not be considered cheating but i would feel like a looser if i use it.
Same thing with cheating - what is that for an unworthy victory.
If i loose it is annoying, but my wins are earned (mostly - if the killer is a total potato it doesn´t feel so good either).

This is one reason why i can not play this game any more. its a joke, u can not mind game or even be on an even playing field.
That with so many using hacks, this game is a joke to itself. Yet they will not do anything as if they do they will loose players which = loss of money.

It really does go to show how easily these "Hard" issues are to solve in reality.

The websites you browse can tell how big your window is so a game should certainly be able to.
