Brightness issue

After I updated dbd I cannot see and I don't mean its a little dim and its hard to see I mean I literally cant see about 6 ft in front of my character on any map, I mine as well be using echo location. I have re downloaded the game, verified files, calibrated my brightness, used intel control panel to change brightness, I have tried using geforce experience, I have tried connecting an hdmi to a tv, and i've restarted my computer multiple times, with the same results I literally can't see the killer down any corridor or walls for the matter longer than my characters height. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix it
