Wish everyone would just listen to me in regards to Spirit
I've played a few matches as her today and still am having so much fun with her. I win most games but I've 2k'ed a few because you just can't win them all. I still don't understand the sentiment that Spirit isn't good anymore.
I'm still very sad that I see her so rarely as survivor because the majority of the Spirit main community just quit. Just wish people would listen to me when I say that she's still good. Props to my 4 fellow Spirit enjoyers that stuck with her though!

You'd think listening to you would be easier, you have directional audio now!

Honestly you deserve 100 up votes from that.
2 -
She's still good, but you can't win 100% of the time against SWF's, unless you use her best Add-ons, so that makes her Add-on dependant, atleast that's why I think most Spirit mains left. Most people who played Spirit but left were probably players who wanted to win but didn't want to put any effort into winning
4 -
I wouldn't even call her add on dependent at all, she just has add ons that are bandaid fixes for people who don't want to learn her, which is the MDR and DCB.
4 -
Let's keep things between us, don't tell anyone about MDR and DCB, okay? We don't need Stridor Spirit 2.0

I agree, Spirit is still a very viable killer and good. I honestly think I've had an easier time playing Spirit since the nerf.
Also, kinda funny, but as I was typing this I got into a round and it's Spirit.

Robbing survivors of information was fun. She isn't a middle finger to organized high skill survivors anymore. Sure she's still ok, but less desirable when made overly "fair" in a game where the killer is already overwhelmed with good teams.
7 -
Lucky you, wish I can see her more :(
0 -
The vast majority of people who played her aren't interested in something that's "still good," they want "downright broken, and plays the game for me."
0 -
That’s fair.
1 -
She's only the second I've seen since Artist released, which isn't much, but still glad there are Spirit's out there.
0 -
But those are fun to use too. Especially when someone turns out to have Iron Will. Zooooooooooooom, hi~
Really, I'd just take an add-on that lets me see blood rather than one that... blocks generators for a few seconds where I was?
0 -
I’m definitely out there too so maybe you’ll be lucky enough to be matched with my Spirit :)
0 -
That sounds like an ez kill for you, I SUCK at survivor.
0 -
I guess Iron Will is a fake justification to that as I still want that perk nerfed.
0 -
I’m not very good at survivor either so dw

The lack of all counterplay to IW except "hope they run and don't have it" is a thing. Yes, yes, it beats one Killer in particular. That's still one too many, can't we both expend perk slots to go more back to where we were? :T
Really, the fact they replaced an iri addon that highlighted blood with a purple one that goes BADUMP BADUMP if you get close is super weird. Why not just... not fluorescently illuminate the blood? An add-on to see a visual cue you'd see normally sounds fine.

Anytime BHVR nerf anything, no matter how insignificant the change is, people will stop using it for a while. Remember when no one used DS when it got changed a year ago? Now everyone is running it again. Its gonna be th exact same with slinger and spirit, they will make a comeback
1 -
Because most Spirit players weren't good. Now they actually need to put some effort in. Naturally they bailed after that.
0 -
Thing about Spirit was that before her nerf, she was quite easy to play. You could pick Spirit, spend very little time learning her, and still 4k quite consistently at the highest level.
However since the nerf to Stridor, and now the directional phase nerf, people just don't want to spend time properly learning her. She is still extremely good but isn't as easy as before.
0 -
No, it’s not. Spirit has never been broken. She is at the mercy of the survivor now. Why would anyone play that?
5 -
The community always overreact. You can't just stand still like a goof and call it a mInDgAmE anymore and all of a sudden Spirit is dead and the devs have killed the game yadda yadda yadda.
Nothing really new in that department.
That combo is orders of magnitude better than old Stridor Spirit.
2 -
Again, this is a fundamental misunderstanding. It’s not like she can now get the same results if the killer tried harder with her: she is significantly worse and it is simply not possible to mindgame good survivors anymore. She’s not “harder”, she’s worse and not worth playing.
5 -
Blight is better and way more fun to play, just saying ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
4 -
I don't care if she's S tier or F tier. She's awesome, and I'll learn how to play her to make her my new main. I wish I was meeting as much Spirit as before.
I also don't think the Stridor nerf was necessary. I appreciate the fact it doesn't make my moan louder but only from my own perspective because Stridor without IW was a real pain for my ears. But IW should have at least be countered by Stridor still. I mean, now we have directional sound for Spirit, it's fine.
1 -
Well duh, that's why it's Stridor Spirit 2.0
0 -
I mean I've been playing her a bit. There's a new layer of mindgame that comes with the directional phase sound. It's kinda fun to fake the survivors out, but it's something you didn't have to do before. That's probably how others see it. She's not terrible, she's just not s tier anymore without cherry blossom and mdr.

There is also the point that you are making your case in a forum with ... what? 100 regular users? 200 maybe?
Forums in general are usually a very small part of any community and it's usually the most whiny side as well.
This isn't just a case of you not being listened to. It's also that what you are saying just isn't reaching that many people.
As for spirit herself there is also a case to be made about confirmation bias. Before the nerf you could see her 5 out of 15 for example. People hated going against her so every match they had was "ugh another spirit" and it latched into their brain that they see her constantly.
Now you see her 3 out of 15 matches and you are remembering the 12 it wasen't more vividly.
There certainly are less, i don't think it's that much less
2 -
Sorry but I gotta disagree mate. She was nerfed but she is still one of the best killers in the game.
I don't know how you can say she's "not worth playing". She's still in the top 5, in my opinion still top 3.
People like playing killers that are easy to learn, with really good results. It's why a killer like Huntress is one of the most played killers at high mmr.
The only killer that is difficult to learn, that people play is Nurse. The reason people learn her though is because everyone knows she's the best killer by a mile.
2 -
He makes me motion sick 😔
0 -
Even with shadowborn?
0 -
the huntress isn't easy to learn and she is too much map dependent. The Spirit could be genrushed before and now it's much easier because her addons for her map control were nerfed. also if you study her noise then it will be very easy to stun her with pallets if she uses her Yamaoka's haunting.
2 -
Like one of comments, she's worse and most people don't want to play worsened killer.
Even if strength is not completely equal as fun, nerf brings about unfun to some people.
0 -
Majority of the spirit mains as you said, quit because they're shite and can't get easy wins anymore with a killer that literally had no counterplay. Now that they fixed her, these shitters probably moved on to Nurse. Such a shame.
3 -
I bet you're the type who'd say standing still was a "mindgame" lul. and yes i know, the shards on her body is a telltale that she's phasing, but sweatlords would use cosmetics to hide it.
0 -
Nurse takes the most skill and time to learn so isn't an mindless easy win killer. So are they skilless baby killers or are they putting in a bunch of work and time and skill to learn nurse?
1 -
I main Nemesis which is probably the easiest/chill killer to play, but I play Nurse when I need to get to Rank 1. Yes, ranks doesn't equal MMR but you need to win a lot of games to get to that rank which means your MMR increases. It took me, and I'm not lying, 30 minutes to be good with her with no addons. Maybe I'm just built different or more likely, she isn't as hard as people make her out to be.

Even with res stretched to hell and back

So... you're going to have to explain to me how it wasn't? The idea obviously being you look like you're doing one thing, but you're actually doing something else, which makes you unpredictable and then you win your chase. Or you take advantage of someone thinking you're going to do that (again) and actually do the obvious thing instead.
That's how every mindgame in this game works. So, either standing still was a mindgame or there are no mindgames.
2 -
mindgame is something both the survivor and killer can do especially in a T-L wall or a tall and short loop and either of them can win. With a spirit just standing still with no indication that she's phasing, puts the survivor in a game that they cannot win reliably, therefore it's not a mindGAME, more like a mind-go-fellate-yourself instead 🙂
0 -
People put "mindgame" in quotations because it was the limpest mindgame possible.
Flip the coin bad and you die. Flip the coin good and you probably still die, let's be honest.
My favorite mindgame is the "tie you down and shoot you with a gun" one. You win the mindgame if the gun jams.
1 -
Ah, arbitrary distinctions! "This doesn't count because it's not something you can both do", because the only time you can feint something is if you're both doing it...? That's silly.
I mean, it's a really simplistic one, and yeah the only counterplay is if someone is doing it repeatedly and getting super predictable, but... 99% of the time this community uses mindgame as a synonym for any sort of feint. Which is what this trick was, even if it's barebones as hell.
Humorously, the loading screen still recommends trying it. Wonder if there's any other outdated "tips" that are there?
2 -
Well duh, that's where the 'orderS of magnitude' comes into play. That combo is more like Stridor Spirit 7.0

Went against my first spirit last week and all i did was stand at a pallet and stun her until she gave up... I don't get where this "takes more skill" argument comes from because the way people play spirit hasn't changed.. They still attempt to predict where i am running and meet me there. The problem is that i know exactly where she is so it doesn't matter. It is actually easier to track her in haunting then if she tries to mindgame out of it.
Even if they fake one side and go around it doesn't matter because i can hear it.

and thats why i run enduring on Spirit now

Well she wasn’t OP before like Nurse but she still certainly needed changes. You can’t argue standing still needed to go.
