Tofu has a great Clip about it:
Same can be said for playing Hag - if there is a Trap, you win. If not, you lose. She is not really fun to play IMO and not fun to play against. One of the most disliked Killers from my side, but I am glad that she is also not popular among other players, so I guess quite a bunch of people think she is unfun to play. Because she is one of the strongest Killers and yet I see her once in a blue moon.

Haha, I like hag. She's really unique and has strengths and weaknesses, and feels pretty balanced when I play as/vs her. The only part that sucks about her is traps next to hooks, but I don't really see how you can fix that. You either make it so that she can't place traps close to a hooked survivor and then she just does a twins and pre-places traps, or you make it so she can't place traps next to any hook and her power becomes really bad and finicky on a lot of maps.

Well I've said on here for years now I absolutely despise Hag. I find playing as her unfun and find playing against her extremely unfun.
For me you'll only get a few different type of Hag games when playing as survivor.
- A Bad Hag: This one is terrible at the game. You basically can never go down because she gives up on traps too early in the game and just runs at a slower speed than most killers (haven't seen since MMR). Easy win so it's boring.
- Hag Main: No matter where you run, you hit a trap. These Hags will scroll wheel teleport and hit you immediately as soon as a trap is set off. Your skills at looping are worth nothing in most chases since by the time you see the trap, you've set it off and been hit. Having to walk or crouch everywhere is also extremely boring.
- Camping Hags: These Hags just put all the traps around your hook and camp. These can be good or bad at her. Nothing much to say to be honest.
All of this and I don't even talk about Mint Rag or Rusty Shackles. These add-ons plus having a Devour Hope or basement build is extremely annoying.
Never had a fun Hag game in my life. Playing as or vs her.

As a killer, she was fun against average teams and terrible against sweaty swf teams who knew how and when to disarm my webs.
As a survivor, I liked how she forced players to slow down and not rush everywhere and it made my use of Urban Evasion shine. Unfortunately, I only play solo queue and 97% of teammates don't know how to counter her and just set of her traps and go down in 5 seconds.

Hag is unusual because she has both a low skill floor and a high skill ceiling. Anybody can play Hag out the gate by dropping down traps and spamming teleport to get quick hits and do sort of ok. But to beat survivors who know how Hag works you have to use more advanced tactics and have really solid game awareness and a sense of what survivors are going to do when they get into chase and such.

I enjoy her. My thoughts:
- Powerful, but a bit behind the current meta.
- Not quite as strong as some people make her out to be.
- Mostly sort of boring addons, with a few truly awful ones.
- Easy to pick up, impossible to ever truly master.

In a near perfect spot. She has a unique play style compared to normal game formula. And has unique survivor interactions. But her whole run back to hook with 5 traps around it needs to go. Since it forces loose loose situations.

As survivor I can't be bothered with worrying about traps unless I'm next to a hooked survivor. I instantly assume there is a triangle somewhere and I'll crouch walk to the hook. If the hooked survivor panics and sets it off or I hear the terror radius then I'll tank a hit. I just need to get the survivor off the hook and I'm happy.
If the Hag is good I really don't want to play against her anyway so I trip traps and throw my hands up and say 'whatchu gonna do 'bout it'. Hooking a survivor? You best believe I'm gonna sprint around the map like a doggo fresh out of the bath.
Hag either does something or she doesn't. Chase me slowpoke, I don't care. I run heal heavy builds so slapping me once and teleporting away does nothing for ya. I play against Hag like I was about to attempt to escape from hook to get out of the game but then I somehow unhook myself and now I've gotta stick it out. Game said we've gotta have at it, so let's have at it.
When playing as Hag I generally know where the survivor is going to go just from experience and instead of just webbing up 3 gens I tend to draw traps as I go but I make sure to always have 10 down. So my trap web is more like a trap tripwire that cannot be predicted because I don't even have a plan. UNLESS I'm on the game. Traps go in the room divisions. That map is kind of mean as Hag if nobody has a flashlight. I try not to camp because it's boring but if someone trips the single hook trap then I'll warp to it and give the survivors a pat on the back.

She is very unique. You need a brain and know what you are doing from the start. I used to love playing her, unfortunately, dead hard and boons are easy and cheap hard counter to her.

I really like Hag and wish we had more killers whose playstyle and counterplay differed drastically from the norm. Looping should not be the end-all-be-all of what DBD is or aspires to be and Trapper and Hag reside in their own setup, strategy-and-information-game niche - it's just that Hag is generally way better at what she does than Trapper.
The only issue I see with Hag and fun is the ease at which she camps and either tunnels or forces hook trades. Crouching to and away from her hook traps gives her extra time to run back to the scene, especially if she spammed them, and oftentimes it seems like a trap placed too close to the hook will trigger after the unhooking animation even if both players are holding the crouch button.
I'm unsure how to balance this, though, because hard removing Hag's ability to trap or teleport anywhere near a hook absolutely guts her and I don't want that at all. It can't be just an occupied hook, because her showing up 0.1 seconds after an unhook is still crazy dangerous and the norm if she wants to use perks like Devour or MYC, but if it's any hook, her ability to place traps at relevant points gets nuked.
I'm also not sure how well Hag even holds up if you remove her ability to pressure hooks - I do fine without using it in most games as her, but I'm not top MMR.

She is very strong on maps other killers dread.
She can be harassed and disrupted but can quickly turn the tables if she keeps her cool and thinks ahead.
Her small size and terror radius are great for sneaking up on healing survivors which is usually my goal.
Back in 2016, I would trap gens but these days a random web of traps in dead zones is most time-efficient for me.

She's strong, but 1 strong SWF with or without flashlights can probably stomp her.

From a solo Survivor perspective, I despise her playstyle. Her whole thing is to avoid chases and proxy camp instead. Once someone is hooked, the match becomes a slog.
The fact that Hag is one of the least played Killers in the game should tell you what people think about her. If she were actually played more, you would see way more complaints about her.

Very boring to play wish she got the Freddy rework treatment to not make her resident sleeper

Hag is my most hated killer and I legitimately have never had fun as or against her.
The nature of her power heavily encourages trapping hooks and sometimes no matter what the survivors do they get hit. If you get someone in basement they either set off your traps, or they have to crouch walk back up (during which time you can just go back). Any killer can facecamp, but hag allows you to essentially camp from far away.
I think two ways to immediately make her more interesting without completely reworking her would be the following:
- The Hag can no longer set traps within a certain range of an occupied hook or in the basement/at the very top of the basement stairs (traps can be placed while the hook isn’t being used, but if someone is hooked there those traps are immediately destroyed).
- In return, survivors can no longer destroy traps with flashlights (or flashbangs or any other similar device that can remove them).

B tier killer fun to play and fun to play against. Against good SWFs she might be the worst killer in the game but top 3 against solos.
I want all killers around A tier so I would give her a small buff.
2 -
For some odd reason people think she's on par with Nurse. A lot of Hags don't commit to a chase, bring CoH and you're pretty much guaranteed to win every game against her due to the fact that she always, always drop chase. All praise CoH :)

Hag is a fantastic killer and the only one I like to play as and against. She is the only true tactical killer in this game where you win with your brain.
9 -
I dislike Hag. Her power is annoying to go against and most of the Hags I go against camp/tunnel, which can lead to very annoying/unfun games. She can be fun to play as with certain builds, but her main gameplay is kind of boring, too.

she is a killer in the game
1 -
Never had a single fun game playing as or against her. I know it's a matter of taste but I don't really think she fits this game.
Also I really dislike killers like her and Pinhead who are solo stompers but mediocre against SWFs. It seems their design have in mind bullying people who decided to not play on voice comms and that's stupid.

haven't had to play against one in ages.
when i play her i usually lose 2-3 gens before i get my first hook, after that it's pure chaos, traps pop left and right and the whole team is slugged within seconds. however that's mostly pugs. good swf's will destroy my baby hag no problem. but yeah it can be really satisfying to play her sometimes when you have to make plans and think ahead.

Giving someone the Freddy treatment seems to be precisely the way to make someone the resident sleeper. How often do you have a fun game against Freddy? He's one of the most boring killers in the game in his current state, both to play and to verse. I find Hag really engaging to verse because I have to think about what I'm doing and weigh the risk-reward of a course of action (as well as watch where her traps are and trigger them when she's busy.) Any frustration I get against her comes from my teammates not being on the same page, or when I get a super campy Hag that just wants to spam 8 traps around every hook instead of building a net because that's just boring.
Okay, this made me chuckle. Have a like.

Couldn't have explained it better man, who tf is this mitchi guy people keep mentioning here? Best Hag player? KEKW
0 -
Michi is the best hag player and you would know that if you ever played vs them
There's a reason it's pretty much agreed upon by the community
0 -
More like 2 ways to immediately gut her just like Freddy and Billy and slinger
0 -
Now the objective of nerf its hag or what?
0 -
There is nothing noteworthy of being the best hag player when she just gets destroyed by boons. I could be the best trapper player in the world and only end up with at most 2 kills.
0 -
I mean asides from the fact that good hag players like me and him don't seem to struggle vs boon totems it's just annoying but not really too much of a hinderance if your a good hag
And if you only got 2 kills as trapper using his best add ons and good perks then no offense but either one of two things happened
1: you played vs a solid swf in which case any killer would've struggled
2: or the more likely scenario that your just not as good as you think you are
1 -
... or hag and trapper just can't carry themselves like nurse and blight, no matter how good you are
0 -
There are plenty of killers that require tactical acumen and brain power, even more so when they're not as strong as hag. Downplaying the thought requirements of playing other killers is a very ignorant statement that stems from being a one-trick pony blinded by their own fandom.
0 -
IMO Hag isn't as unfun because her games are scary (jumpscares). I think Hag is possibly the hardest killer to counter in this game, so I decided to main her for a while to see what are her weaknesses. During that time, I had a couple matched where I'd get absolutely destroyed by 1 good survivor. After that, the very few matches I had against Hag as survivor resulted in a 0k, or a 1k.
TL; DR: shes hard to counter but just 1 survivor who knows can ruin her entire game
0 -
Yeah, Sure, tell that to my NOED, No Way Out, Blood Warden and STBL Build.
0 -
This is all my opinion, some people love her.
As her: Boring as hell, I prefer offensive Killers, she is purely a defensive Killer.
Against her: Uninteresting. Just run to the edge of the trigger area of traps and watch her getting triggered by not getting a hit with the scroll wheel strat. Once you're in basement you basically have 1 hook state.
1 -
Very strong killer! Top 6 or 7 for sure! A top Hag MYC is very scary
0 -
The only reason I'm happy boons exist is to screw over this swamp abomination
2 -
Hard "camping" killer, scammy plays.
Delete.
2 -
has strengths and weaknesses. destroys solo q baby survivors in seconds and will get wiped with a good team
1 -
Extremely boring for both sides.
As the killer, you're not actually chasing people, you're just walking around and setting up and waiting for a survivor to come into your web.
As a survivor, it's boring because you're not being chased and when you do get any interaction with the Hag, it's when you trigger an impossible-to-see trap.
Oh, and Hag's love to camp a hook with their 10 traps around them.
My most hated killer, honestly delete her.
1 -
Hag is the prime example that contrary to the popular belief of "you just play X killer because it's easy", players don't just want something that's strong, but it also needs to be fun to use.
Hag is good, although a bit too overrated, but despite her being better than many other killers, she's so unpopular because no one finds her playstyle fun.
0 -
Wiped against a good team? Yeah until you run into my Hag lol
Hag is fun to me! I love hooking people then coming back to them after the unhook with MYC and Nurses lol
0 -
this is coming from someone who despises hag with a passion, she's fine and balanced, don't touch her.
0 -
I personally find her really boring on both sides, yet at the same time I think she's one of the better killers.
