That blind is due to Shadowborn, bigger FOV also means bigger blind angle, and as you can see from that clip, there's enough space on the right of that tile to get the blind through.

I totally get what you’re saying about Shadowborn being part of it, but even so that was still quite the thin crack that flashlighter must have hit! Not to mention the survivor had no way of knowing the killer had Shadowborn, obviously, so they got a bit lucky that was the case.

It was definitely luck on the Survivor's side, that's for sure, they couldn't know and they had the perfect angle, sometimes it happens.
I think it's just the wrong clip to "prove" that flashlights are an issue (if that was OP's intent).

Right, to be fair the OP said they didn’t think they’re overpowered, I think they’re just venting some steam at a wicked flashlight.

I know it's not a very good wall to look against, in fact it is a fridge, but even with bigger FoV it's pretty ridiculous

If anything, it is proof that flashlights can get angles even when looking at a wall, which is in my opinion an issue. I'm not too mad about it either though, it's a small thing really, but it's kinda bad.

There is totally no issue. You just made serious mistakes here. You obviously didnt know about Shadowborne having an effect on flashlight angles. You did pick them up at a spot where you gave them space to try a save (i guess they could have even tried to flashlight you through that little gap in the wall). You greeded to pick him up instead of being cautious and smacking that survivor.

It increases the FOV - which means you can be blinded from a wider angle also as the survivor would be in the increased field of view.

patched out the FOV increase? That's the whole point of the perk.
I think you mean that what was removed from the perk was the ability to blind the killer faster - that was removed, but the increase angle wasn't.

The effect of the perk used to come with the downside of being easier to blind, ie. it would take less time. That was patched out- it has nothing to do with angles of being blinded, which is entirely linked to FOV.

I wouldn't say it would be "less greedy" but it would have been a smarter play for sure if you knew another survivor had a flashlight. Walk around the corner and see if he's waiting for an angle.
Getting a down is one thing, picking up is another, and so is hooking. I think this is a good experience for you because now you know for next time. Live and learn.

I think I was aware that at least 2 people had flashlights that game, but I usually don't care too much about thinking of every possible flashlight angle and baiting survivors out ever single time I down somebody. If there is a wall to face, I will look at it to avoid a save. It's just hilarious to me, that even when you bury your face into a fridge while picking up, they can still get an angle on you.

OP should of just brought Lightborn. *snickers* But in all seriousness I have been blinded at wierd angles or through boarded up windows in the shack, heck I got saves that I was like "Wait that hit".
One save I did was when a killer was picking up a survivor in the open but i was directly on his left side slightly behind him and got the save. The Killer didn't have Shadowborn and I wasn't in his field of view.
Personally if a killer is in a Animation Lock they shouldn't be able to get blinded until the animation is fully finished.

Ya, you have to be careful because sometimes people just get real lucky with wide angles, holes and slits. I know I've been called out before for questionable saves when in fact I was just lucky because I gave it a shot and it worked.

If you know there is someone with a flashlight that mostly means free hits, cause theyre running towards you. Just bait the pickup and smack them. If they start a second try down them, if not easy pickup. Basic killer strategy.
