Subtle cheating is becoming the norm

I see it mostly happen to survivors when a killer is getting closer to a survivor or when the killer get bloodlust, the survivor increases their movement speed high enough to gain a advantage and drop a pallet or vault. I seen only 2 killers that used subtle cheats where they increase their movement speed but it feels more noticeable to me. And it might be on Twitch.tv where someone is streaming right now where they show no remorse.

I have a bad feeling that one day that it's becoming a Hacker vs Hacker situation, a game where legitimate players are flunked out of the game and the best player is using the best hacking software. In other words, the best hackers win, and 4 hackers usually win against 1 where they either teleport to the exit gate or where a killer like Michael Myers get lucky enough to teleport to a survivor and mori him.

I hear you. But you know what's becoming the norm even now?

    Hex: Doom and Gloom!

Don't get me wrong, hackers are 100% a problem, and I got no idea how many subtle hackers pulled my nose, because they are much more insidious and damaging to the game then those blatant flying peeps, but I get enough good and fun games that I don't think it is that big of a problem.

At least bot that big that the only outcome will be hackers vs hackers.

Came to the forums tonight just to see if anyone was talking about this. I haven't played killer in about 8 months until tonight, but after playing for 5 games, two of the games had clear cheating that folks were trying to pass off and not be blatant about. Both of these incidents occurred in matches where the cheaters were on SWF teams.

It's probably not a stretch to say there's cheating going on in almost every match at this point.

It's been the norm since various exploits were basically given the green light since the devs can't fix them.

You see cheaters at high MMR every several games, but I've been discovering even more subtle ones that I would have otherwise missed via Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance info. Gen explodes, another gen finishes 4 seconds later, then you find exploded gen has almost 0 progress. Someone gets unhooked, couple seconds later both people are revealed on the opposite side of the map working on a gen. Both of these things happened when I was playing yesterday.

imo just run Pinhead purely with the intention of chaining chain hunts and making the game take 30 minutes (or longer). 100% you'll weed out the cheaters to report them and move on that way c:

Played against a Bubba earlier, a fresh new steam account with level 1 and he came straight to me in a locker after all gens are done and claimed he wasn't cheating. Told me to git gud.

Subtle cheating every match and nothing being done about it.

A lot of people may argue it is not the norm, but it's becoming more and more prevailing as time goes on. There are moments where I just feel something is off with the match right from the very beginning. I do feel some instances people get lucky and make wild guesses and it works out, but there are others when the match is just off.

Pinheads that always seem to know where the Lament Configuration is all the time has been a common one to me. Survivors or Killers that move abnormally fast without perks for that, having little to no cooldown between actions like missing hits as Killer as vaulting/unhooking/etc. as Survivor. There have been a few cases where I engage in a chase and the other player seems to have wallhacks always knowing where/how I am going to turn... like yes, mindgaming in loops is a thing, but at some times it feels unnatural.

On the upside; for every script-kiddy who stealth-cheats, there's ones using the same cheat blatantly.

Once the scrublord script-kiddies are reported, the anti-cheat can be updated, and they are ALL banned when the updated anti-cheat detects the hack.

Also: Call them 'script-kiddies'. 'Hackers' sounds too cool for no-skill putz's that cheat in online games. Plus, for the most part, they are not 'hacking' the game; they are downloading a cheat someone else made.

So I petition we call all cheaters 'Script-kiddies', because they are babies who can't stand losing, and toddlers who can only feel joy in ruining games for others.

I had one of those experiences yesterday, too. Two survivors left, one gets downed, I get in a locker in case of BBQ, killer slugs but runs directly from opposite side of the map straight to my row of lockers and pulls me right out. It's not like there was a gen nearby with progress, I ran around leaving scratch marks, or anything. Seems SUPER unlikely to happen without cheating. Having a private account and lower tiered perks made it almost guaranteed.

This is completely off topic but related to your name- do you need a hug or something?

My question is how can behavior fix this coding epidemic and is it something thats even fixable. I know a while back people could download new skins and models replacements with bright colors and i think they fixed that one so it wouldnt be unfair. I just hate it when i play against a hacker and i know they were and i report them to only come across them a day or 2 later. At least if its a survivor hacking i can lobby dodge at least but if its a killer hacking i have no idea who it is until the match ends. I think thats one reason we should at least be able to see the killers name in a lobby if not their killer choice.

  • Just watched my friend play against a survivor who had a slight speed hack, and pulled himself up off the ground in under 4 seconds (with no perks or boons to do so). We he got called out about it his response was "YeahYeah so what". Happens sadly more often then not.

If it's not the norm yet, it will become the norm. a flying surv that teleports across the map because it's funny is bad, but subtle cheaters are the worst. I recorded every round and looked at it later and you won't believe how often exit gates open in less than 10 seconds, survs are faster than bloodlust 2-3 or David King uses dh for the second time. this doesn't happen every round, but often enough.

I'd rather wait longer for a lobby than play against PC players again.

banning is useless anyway as long as cheaters use alt accounts and can buy dbd for 5€ on the internet.

The glitch earlier this year was the best proof of how many players can't play honestly. you had at least one per round that used OoO+Soulguard... Considering that so many are against cheating, the glitch was exploited really hard. and these are the people who cheat because it's easy to cheat.
