Making the devs see the light
So i've been playing DBD on and off for roughly 3 years. I've seen alot of changes take place since that time, Some good and seemingly enough more bad. Now i'm not up-to-date on every change that has been made but i feel after seeing what has been done and the constant arguing within this forum about these changes whether they were necessary or not for the health and fun of the game, i personally feel the only way to get the devs to actually do something for the greater good or fail is to simply play the game with everything that is META. (Killer main speaking here)
Tunnel, Camp, Run NOED. Do whatever is necessary to force the devs to take a look at these things and see what changes they make. The QoL of survivor is what keeps this game afloat but, If killers abandon ship and either quit or move to survivor the devs have no choice but to make drastic changes to draw atleast some of it's player base back if they already haven't alienated them to the point of making it the last straw or the game will be finished in no time.
Make the game un-fun for survivor, understand this game is not designed with YOU the killer in mind other than to be a punching bag. The nerfs for killer are harsh and the buffs are laughable, the real problems that need addressed never are.
Happy Hunting.

Playing like that will just result in a killer nerf.

Agreed that will only make the Devs want to nuke all Killers.....even though through various interviews that's what they want to do because they just don't care for Killers....just survivors.
4 -
I'm convinced it's more that they just have no idea what they are doing
1 -
Well let's have them nerf everything killers have. Then people will stop playing killer and we can finally have some change in this game. It'll be fun to see what they're gonna do when that happens.
1 -
That's my point. The QoL for killer is constantly getting **** on that we should just play by THEIR rules until these things get nerfed. When they do i hope to see killers leave in mass until they realize what they've done with there constant appeasement to survivors.

Yes, because tunnel/camping into Noed is the most easiest way for 2K. Any altruism happen will result in 3K. And when 2-3K is so easy to achieve, they will nerf Killer further.
The best way is just play the game...normally. I mean getting beaten.
5 -
They´ll simply make it f2p on epic.
Oh wait...
3 -
I don't understand this mindset. If that ever happens the game will probably just die.

Honestly, it would be the opposite.
Run no slow down, never tunnel or camp, and don't use noed.
Then after a few months, see what the data says about balance then.

I’m not against playing with bot killers. Better than campers and tunnelers

No matter what people's thoughts are on the state of the game, the day AI killers are necessary for the game to create matches for people to alleviate queue times is the day the game is officially on the way to the grave.
While I'm in favor of bots for practice mode (both for killer and survivor), having them in the actual game? Watching AI Zombies walk mindlessly into objects, or playing the tutorials should be plenty enough evidence that the devs currently couldn't make an AI killer capable of providing even the tiniest challenge except against people who've literally just installed the game.
AI killers that the devs could implement currently would be the equivalent of truly making the game Gen Repair Simulator. There's no way I'm interested in playing that (though some people, based on their approach to the game, apparently are).
1 -
That's how you'll make them see the light.

Nearly every killer on the roster has a +50% kill rate and survivors have been repeatedly nerfed over the years. What light are we trying to make them see?
2 -
The devs already see the ginormous killrates and how little solo survivors win but continue to release anti-loop killers, more slowdown perks, and never looking into stacking slowdown perks and refusing to see it as a problem.
I actually saw a Huntress using Ruin, Corrupt Intervention, and POP. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the tally screen. She easily won with 4 gens remaining and that is very bad. There's been a lot of un-noticed light.
3 -
What they need to nerf first is low effort threads like this.
1 -
Well if the devs actually cared and nerfed survivors then killers wouldn't need to tunnel and camp etc. The game is broken for killer. Survivor is a walk in the park and killer is absolute nightmare
0 -
hmmmm not exactly.
Understanding the OP, the best way to play those "META" rounds would be to play both survivor and killer in the most toxic way possible. I MEAN FULL ON! That way they'd be able to at least see both sides of the coin and adjust accordingly. SWF group with coms vs killer, and another group vs killer with no coms and no familiarity of who they're playing with.

This is a revolution with all my fellow Killer comrades in mind and NOT me just lashing out.

I understand the frustrations because I play killer about half the time and I know how imbalanced the game is, especially against SWF at higher ranks. But I don’t think a promoting attitude of “just ruin their fun” is helpful. Just play the game the way you want to play (tunnel, camp, slug - all those are necessary to get kills at higher ranks) and don’t worry about what survivors say/think about it. The ones who complain have never played killer before
1 -
i don’t get people who say “waahaahaaahhhhhhh killers nerfed” after Doctor, Trickster, and Bubba got buffed into relevance and Plague’s buffs made her among the strongest killers in the game.
But more importantly, what is this thread trying to accomplish? To get devs to see that camping sucks and it should be nerfed? Survivors are underpowered and can’t handle it?

@Sluzzy - I know you get a lot of crap from people about your complaints about killers, but I am genuinely curious if you have actually played killer before. If so, do stomp survivors or do you find it difficult/stressful to play killer? I know there are some really good killers out there, but a vast majority of those I’ve played against or the ones who comment on the forums seem to not think it’s as easy as you do. I’m just honestly wondering if you play killer and how easy or difficult you have found it. I play both sides and I find killer incredibly frustrating against SWF and manageable against good solos if you’re playing sweaty. Rarely do I have matches that are super easy where I am steamrolling survivors

I think I remember someone going and checking Sluzzy's DbD stats
and finding out they have one of the highest number of Nurse hits in the game.
1 -
Data doesn't matter, it's a proven fact.
Just have fun in whatever way you can.
0 -
Legend says that Sluzzy's nurse can blink into games of other killer players to steal their kills
1 -
But, if we did this, and the kill rate dropped, it would force a killer buff
0 -
No it wouldn't, because they interpret the data in whatever way they want that has no basis in reality. It literally doesn't matter.
Just do whatever you want and if they continue to make killer even more frustrating than it already is more people will quit.

I play both sides too. I find killer is the ez role unless it a 4 man SWF. Occasionally a good group of solos or duo or treos will win but usually i've made mistakes also like chasing a survivor too long or something like that. Sometimes a bad map like playing Hillbilly on Lery's .
I think killer complains are always centered around "I must 4K or the game is unbalanced".
I know survivor is the hardest role because you win way more as killer. Way more.
Killer is only hard if you put so much pressure on yourself thinking you have to 4K.

Devs clearly don't look at those things. They will see "unba bunga kill rate increase, killer nerf needed".
0 -
Let me clarify my position a little better. I advocate to play the game but to TRY and go for the 4k by any means necessary. In most cases this is through tunneling a survivor and then camping said survivor. As the game stands, there is no real game changing balance around tunneling or camping, just lost of BP. So i want the devs to be forced to do something about this and see what changes they'll make. Maybe they will wake up and realize this is the only strategy thats viable due to their consistent nerf and buff, smoke and mirrors BS they give us. Make hooks matter and not kills, stop nerfing killers into the ground but "buffing" there add-ons to "make-up" for it and expecting us to just accept and adapt. Stop releasing chapters for the money grab and then turn around and nerf and or power creep the killer because survivors can't figure out how to play against them (Pinhead).

While I agree in principle that a lot of calls for killer buffs or nerfs, etc, are based on just pure speculation, I think it's important to keep in mind that the overall kill rate averages of killers the devs periodically post are not intended as a primary indication of much of anything, even according to the devs themselves. A 50% average certainly isn't a bad sign, but you have to consider the variances of the numbers and the medians, not just the average. For instance if hypothetically half the matches are 0 kills and half are 4 kills with virtually nothing in the 1-3 range that's a 50% average but totally not what the devs want to see, they don't want the results to be that swingy. Also the overall averages can skew toward lower skill floor killers and against higher skill floor killers. Nurse has by far the lowest average kill rate because she's so difficult to learn to use well, but her kill rate among Nurse mains is terrific (I think? Even the devs use Nurse as an example of why you should take those kill rate charts with a grain of salt.) And of course it says nothing about things like possible balance issues between swfs and solo players for example.
So yeah, 50% averages is nice to see, it's certainly better to see that number than a 70% or 30% average. Just remember it's not the end of the story is all.

Not to mention the "data" im sure doesn't factor in killer builds to reach these said numbers. if players played bubba or trapper with the mindset of doing a basement build all the time, it would skew the data because said killers are more than likely pulling out 2k-3ks with the occasional 4k without really ever traversing the map and hence the nerf hammer in due time will be on its way due to "over-performance".
0 -
For sure, the devs explicitly said the most recent kill rate chart from a couple of months ago for example was across all games. It's not filtered by MMR or builds or anything else, just by killer.
That being said they also made clear they don't balance based on that chart. Presumably when they nerf an add-on, for example, they're comparing games involving that add-on versus games without that add-on at various MMRs and, given how much data they have, probably also pivoting based on other perks that it appears with to look for popular combos and see how well they do, etc.
