Killers, corrupt and pain resonance is honestly too helpful for you to avoid

It stops survivors from doing 2 gens for 1 chase and it also helps you to always remove progress on every hook you gets, these 2 perks should be in your everyday build to avoid genrush, it's too good and you shouldn't ignore those 2 perks if you do.

The only problem with pain resonance is if you get bad rng with the 4 hooks

But I'd rather take LP than Corrupt.

I've been running Jolt. Pain Resonance, Pop, and Eruptuon on Nemesis lately. The salt it incites is hilarious. And while it most certainly is overkill, it really highlights the fact that most survivors just blindly do gens and rush into a three gen situation and a build like this absolutely shuts down a three gen and screeches everything to a halt.

yes that sucks when it happens but it's still worth the perk slot

Corrupt is just reliable value for stalling a few generators, it tightens up the patrol of an early game but for the 2 minuets it provides that's also 2 minuets I'm handing to the survivors to spread out and eliminate any glowing bones on the map because for me to patrol the dead zone I just created would be foolish. You run corrupt, you shouldn't run any hexes.

Pain Resonance is very easy to fool as well, it's no different that feeding false information when you know the killer has perks like Thrilling Tremors. You see the killer approaching a hook and you're working on the generator? Just let go for a few seconds. If it explodes and doesn't make you scream the killer is likely to assume no one in there most of the time, why trek across a map to a generator you've just been told is regressing. Also with how girthy maps can get the 4 hooks can be placed in extremely inconvenient positions, RPD being the most blatant offender.

    Are they good perks? Absolutely.

    Do they have drawbacks? Absolutely.

If you play Nemesis, give it a try at least once. Put the yellow and purple addons that each give the zombies a 50% speed boost. As long as you pay attention to their auras, there's all the info you need right there lol

There was a game where a three gen had a gen 99'ed. Within 2 downs and hooks, it was 15-20% tops. One guy was super mad at me lol

corrupt assures you don't lose 2 gens in the first 2 minutes, it's too good value, and well yes pain resonance hooks placement can suck, it's still a perk you shouldn't ignore

Corrupt is overrated. Good survivors just go do the other gens while you get your first chase started. I've had 2 gens get done while chasing one guy with Corrupt still up. Lethal Pursuer + chase oriented perks I think are better for getting the first hook right away and building pressure that way. Gens are too hard to slowdown against efficient players

Corrupt Intervention, Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance, Grim Embrace and Infectious Fright is my go-to Oni build currently

Lethal, BBQ (gimme BP pls), Plaything because it's hilarious, and some sort of regression. No room for Corrupt too. :p

I'm not sold on Corrupt only from the gameplay pattern that I tend to see in my lobbies, but my personal thoughts aside yeah that seems good.

Corrupt is amazing on small maps. On larger ones, I find a lot of groups just hide, do totems and wait it out. I only really run it on Myers these days.

PR is, in my opinion, the most perfectly designed perk in the game. It's strong, but has an element of RNG to it. It forces killers to take risks and make decisions, while still having a ton of counterplay (note the scourged hooks and play around them).

Corrupt does delay the game for like 10-20 seconds... As soon as the match starts the Survivors know that you're running it so they'll either Boon a Totem close by or spread out to the other Gens... and you might have one Survivor stay around a Blocked Gen to start it as soon as Corrupt ends

Pain Resonance can be taken out by a sabo player and bad RNG

who sabo in all honesty? you see 1 sabo squad every 15 matches

It needs more hooks, 4 isn't enough.

    But still... It happens

    And I don't mean a Sabo squad I mean 1 Survivor Saboing

Or you can run both. 🙂 Corrupt’s weakness is when all the survivors decide to hide it out and you don’t get into a chase right away at the start of the match. If you run both then you immediately get into a chase, down them relatively quickly (hopefully) and now you have someone on a hook with Corrupt still up and only a few gens to patrol until it ends.

Corrupt is effective but I tend not to use it simply because I tend to rely on generator sounds as much as anything else to find survivors and know what’s going on, and having half the generators blocked makes it take that much longer to get into an initial chase. I’d just as soon find someone quickly and start chases asap even if it costs a bit of progress for me compared to Corrupt. Just a playstyle thing for me.

(and when I do use it I sometimes pair it with Lethal Pursuer or Whispers to mitigate that slow start.)

Tbh, Scourge Hook: Pain res was a gamechanger for me. I don't have it unlocked on each of my main killers, but I cherish the ones who got it like nothing else. SUre, the perk is a bit RNG dependent, but if you can accept this, it offers just so much!

Whats especially dangerous with this perk are trades. I once had a trial with Pyramid Head on Badham that was essentially sealed by this perk. After a somewhat bad start I finally cornered and downed a survivor and hauled him over to this rather central Scourge hook. The others survivors were deadset on trading on that hook, so in quick succession I had regressed all the gens so that the last hook got nothing to work with and I think the game ended with a 4K and 3 gens remaining.

I really, really hope though that they don`t nerf this one, I just love this perk so much. It gives the oppressed killer game much needed breathing room and helps you come back when a chase took way to long but you got no other options. WIth some luck you can keep regressing that one gen that 2 survivors were focusing on the whole chase and maybe even knock one of them down, regressing it even further.

But it also has counterplay, as canny survivor will notice that you take long walks to ensure that their downed comrades ALWAYS get hooked on that one hook over there, opening up much bodyblocking and sabotaging play. In one fun game I threw the downed survivor down just in front of the hook and chased the saboteur. Took just long enough to down him to get back to the orignal one and hook him on the respawned Scourge hook and take the would-be-saboteur to the same one, when the remaining survivors unhooked. That one Scourge Hook gave me so much value.

I will never run Corrupt Intervention. It relocates the generators survivors will complete while you chase the first one, it does not prevent them being completed.

I see it maybe 1 in 4. People are starting to discover that there are 6-8 maps with possible hook spawns where, if you keep 1 sabo'd, you create a sizeable deadzone where it's impossible to hook anyone.

Plus - he's saying there is a direct counter to PR. Do you...just want PR not to need a counter?

    Corrupt is vastly overrated imo.
