Would it hurt if Killers could see hook states per person too?

The number of times I killed someone by accident because I didn't know they were on death hook while streamers are up...
Feels extra bad when it happens to be the one who brought in the streamers.
There's a lot going on in a match for killer, there's not the downtime like survivors get. Sometimes the hook states get lost in the chaos.
Its not going to promote tunneling or camping at all, it only helps the people who are trying not to do those things not do them. I see only benefits for both sides here.

Tunneling is already rampant. That would be like pouring gasoline on a wild fire. Mystery is a good thing here

So how does knowing hookstates lead to tunnelling? It's pretty hard to make mistakes if trying to do that. You just need to follow one person.
And if you get the wrong one oh well you still got someone. New target or back to finding the old? Either works.

I'm not even sure where I feel about this because it can be used and abused in different ways.
I'll admit I can sometimes lose track of who I most recently hooked because I switch around who I'm hitting because I find it more fun to spread out my pressure and actively look for those chases. (Robbie ❤️) but on that same coin I can see how knowing how close someone is to being knocked out of a match would result in "Tunneling" because I caught them out of position and as we all know according to the survivors rulebook you're not supposed to hook the same person more than once. 😏

I really wish I could see hook states, because I'm trying not to tunnel. I can't always remember who it was I hooked last. I'd also like to know if the survivor I'm about to hook is on death hook. There is the little hook meter but it's so unhelpful that I didn't even know it was there until recently.
I don't think it will encourage more tunneling, because anyone who is tunneling is going to do it anyway. It's really really easy to tunnel already, and you don't need to see hook states to do it.

Killers that are hard tunneling and camping don't magically forget who they were just camping. Showing the hook states would be a nice QoL change for killers that don't camp or tunnel. As other killers have stated on this thread, I also don't want to take out a survivor too early from the game and, if there is a BPS in play, I don't want to kill any survivors period. Showing the hook states would give me info that I might have missed, such as a survivor not being rescued until second stage from one hook, and help me stop accidentally killing a survivor.
I have been camped and hard tunneled when playing survivor. It completely sucks but if the killer is totally ignoring the wounded unhooker or any other survivors trying to block or take protection hits while the tunneling killer just single mindedly chases me showing hook states won't make a difference.

I think everyone should be able to see the hook state indicators. As others have already said, if you're tunneling, you don't need a counter -- you keep chasing the same Meg you already chased. The advantage hook state counters would give killers is that, if they have a bad memory, or they're newer to the game, they'd be able to choose their targets more effectively... which seems fair, since the hook state indicator also lets survivors protect targets more effectively.
Showing it to one group of players and not the other doesn't make sense to me.

it would incentivize tunneling, remember the old dying light? it put a massive target over people's heads and ruined any enjoyment they could get out of the match
its better to not create that problem again

How is it going to encourage tunneling? You don't need hook states to tunnel anybody. 'Oh I'm tunneling this steve. He's off the hook. Back on it again with you.'
You don't just intend to tunnel someone and forget 'Oh shoot someone got unhooked, no idea who I should check the hook states to tunnel them off.'

Killers aren't allowed to see individual hook states, but survivors are allowed to play the same survivor with the same outfit and just make chases into a game of 3 Card Monte.

In what way does having the hook states visible resemble old dying light in any way what so ever? There isn't a giant repair speed penalty coming with it.
Do people actually think when they start inventing arguments?
It's pretty clear that "promotes tunneling" is an excuse and not an actual argument.
I have yet to see anyone explain how it would promote tunneling any more then how it is now.

How about saying "this is Neas first hook" 4 times then getting confused and killing one of them when you didn't want to (yes, there are some situations)

Because it introduces arbitrary additional skill in needing to play whilst dodging tennis balls hitting anything important and not giving full attention to the screen and visual feedback. Or, the same-old "because this is slightly harder, it's skill" insanity used to justify every random last bit of irritation.
Stockholm Syndrome for unnecessary inconveniences is way to common a sentiment. "In my day we played the game both ways uphill in the snow!" etc.

That's not tunneling...
That's pretty much the opposite of tunneling cause you're only choosing your target when the game is coming to a close instead of choosing someone from the start to make sure they don't do anything else
I'm sorry but what i'm hearing is killers aren't allowed to win and we are so desperate to not have them win we have to give them every chance to make a mistake.
When it's pretty late in the game as you say survivors are allowed to die at some point

That's not tunnelling, that's just trying to play strategically at all. I think you're the first person I've heard complain about "killing the most hooked Survivor when it's late".
Tunnelling is focusing down one person from first hook until death, which needs zero memory.

You already can with a piece of paper, mark a line during the hook animation, so I see no reason not to add this.

If this is important to you and you are not using BBQ you can just pay attention to the HUD when you hook someone.
It protects survivors and challenges the killer but I can clearly see that it will be abused to focus individuals more than used as a tool to avoid them. Human nature is what it is.

Yes omg please yes to killers see hook states too. There are times when a killer needs to decide whether or not to go fo the final hooking. For example, a killer that believes strongly in fair competitive games and sportsmanship might not want to actually kill survivors after a team mate dc for being hooked, and instead might want to spend the rest of the match getting some points.
