Buff base Kick and Gen Regression
Would it be unreasonable to put an instant 5-10% gen regression when kicking and maybe speed up passive regression?
New killers probably don't realize how little it does to kick a gen. And it would give killers some reward for walking to a gen and kicking it. Maybe incentivize patrolling gens over tunneling?
It would also solve the issue of a survivor just tapping a gen, because that would risk another kick.

I’d say 5% would be good. Maybe have a bigger overcharge skill check base kit to stop gen tapping being so effective

Would that stack with PGTW?

It would take 2.5% in order to make survivors go even in the time investment it takes for a killer to damage a generator baseline. (Without brutal/addons)
It would be nice if they could buff base regression or add an instant damage so that damaging a gen without a perk wouldn't ALWAYS be the wrong choice to make.

Probably not. Pop is already good as is so it doesn’t really need a buff.

Yeah, I didn't think so either.

That's what I mean. 90% of the time it's pointless. The only situation would be a gen in the corner of the map that had 1 survivor on it. But even then it's better to not lose distance on the survivor.
Like I said, it would make it more attractive to protect gens rather than just tunnel survivors. Or at least it would be a decision. Do I chase or kick the gen?

Others would arguably say it would encourage 3 genning and turtling, which not gonna lie it might. I would probably say it would be better to buff base regression so then a killer is more rewarded for occupying survivors and keeping them off gens.
Perhaps just make it so that regression is the same as ruin, and the only difference with ruin is that it does it automatically without needing to walk over and damage.

The devs can make it so a killer can continuously damage a gen if they press the button in succession after the first hit. Every successive hit takes the same amount of time as the first hit. Each hit lowering it by 1-2% as it regresses; However, this holds the killer physically in place and fixes their screen towards the gen. If they stop for any reason they can’t damage it again until a survivor touches it.
Killers would then have some incentive to not camp the first person they hook. During opportunities they can scare survivors off of a gen to damage it. While killers strategically damage gens they think is important to protect the survivors are regrouping, unhooking, healing, doubling up, etc. Pop could be reworked to replace the damage over time with one big time for as long as it’s active.
Adding a feature like that buffs moves like Brutal Strength and Fired Up. As killers can now damage gens at a much faster rate.

It's a pointless buff if it works the way your describing it since killers still won't have enough time to do this and pressure gens unless if you do this and you get a auto oppression that prevents survivors from doing gens or something which wouldn't happen. This won't prevent camping btw

10% might be a bit unreasonable, but 5% seems pretty reasonable.
I'm not sure that buffing the instant damage would fix gen tapping though. I think the big issue here is just the discrepancy between time to start regression and start regression. It takes a killer about 2 seconds to damage a gen and start its regression, but survivors can stop regression so fast that they barely have to stop moving. Survivors should have to repair a gen for like, 2 seconds to stop regression.

Kicking a gen should take 1 frame of animation, just like gen tapping.
I've watched Survivors run past a gen, and it stops sparking. Only by slowing down the footage, did I see the Survivor literally flicker for 1 frame of animation mid-sprint, then keep running.
So if the devs are too lazy to actually make gen tapping take skill or at least time by preventing 1-frame taps; Killers should get the same consideration. If Survivors can 1-frame tap; Killers should be able to 1-frame kick.
But it will never happen. I bet, just by suggesting this, a few Survivors are going to scree into the thread and claim I'm a 'biased Killer main', which seems to be a theme on these forums & had already happened multiple times.

Oh no, it encourages a good strategy? Don't want that in our game. Might force some teamwork.
Talking about 3 genning, I don't know what "turtling" is. Sounds gross.

I didn't necessarily agree with the argument and I would personally say a 3gen situation is at least more interactive and fun than a camping and tunneling situation.

Every time my friends and I get into a 3 gen, we tend to have a lot of fun trying to break it and harass the killer while we do it so it's definitely more fun than dealing with someone who brought their tent and marshmallows

Why even mention the harrssment is that the part that brings your group fun

I think, by 'harass' he meant 'draw the Killer's attention'. Not 'be toxic and anger the Killer'.

it really depends on how the killer wants to behave. If they're gonna sit around and not commit to a chase, I'm going to do whatever it takes to get them to move
