So BHVR Finally Got It
You can not balance game if you have 2 different groups. SWF has much advantages than Solo-q. And this created all DbD problems:
- You can not buff killers because Solo-q will be worse.
- You can not nerf SWF because you can not punish people who wanna play with their friends.
So best you can do, buff solo survivors and buff killers. Balance game around this. Even after this, game will not balance perfectly but it will be most healthy version for sure. This is good step to balance game, i hope there is more buffs for solo-q and ofcourse for killers.
Buff solo-q, buff all killers in general, buff weak killers, rework Nurse and remove Trickster. And DbD is great game.

Tomorrow we will see Part 2. I have hope for Ghosty and Leg. But anyway they are finally seeing (AFTER YEARS): If you have 2 different type group you can not balance game. I am happy for Part 1 changes.

I don't really see the problem in it. You can basically buff in the same time solo q groups with killers. Not even mention that most of solo players also play killers, and for BHVR it should be definitely be a top high priority with improving the current SBMM system.

'Balancing killers around these changes' doesn't necessarily mean killer buffs.
For all we know, killrates could be at 3.5 kills per game on average, and they might be looking for ways to balance them to the 2.5 they said they wanted. It's never same to assume 'balance' means 'buff'.

Any killer? Are you sure? We have Clown, you know.
Ofcourse we do. Nurse, Hag, Huntress, Spirit, Plague, Oni, Pyramid Head, Blight and Artist are okay killers. Other killers need major or minor buffs.

They should not balance around kills. I can camp with Bubba. I can kill 2 survivors per match. Is this makes game balanced? No. They should balance game around hooks.

2 kills by camping is still 6 hook stages you got through. The end results is the same.

It's not the ideal gameplay they should attempt to balance for, because it's profoundly uninteractive and bypasses the intended game design. I'm not saying it's not valid, but if BHVR wanted survivors to be dead as soon as they got downed, we wouldn't have hook states and we'd still have old moris.

I don't know, he is just most annoying killer for me. He is cheap version of Huntress. Bunny is gives you info when use hatchet. And you can try dodge. But good luck to trying dodge 1 million knives of Trickster.

You don't dodge his knives individually, you run to high walls or even around a big rock if there's nothing else and deny him line of sight. If you're in a situation where the killer only has an opportunity to land one shot on you as you round a certain corner of a loop, a Huntress will down you way faster than a Trickster will.
I find the important thing with Trickster is that if you're out in the open when you hear his lullaby, you have to move for cover and can't play chicken like you can other killers. Use the same tactics that you would on Plague with Corrupt Purge. If he catches you in the middle of a field, you're dead, but in every map that isn't Rotten Fields, you have the opportunity to avoid that.

Uh you can balance the game... you're not even punished for playing with your friends by doing so.
The way is as I mentioned to force some perks to be team oriented... meaning only one survivor in your group of players can have certain perks. That balances for high level play and avoids problems with solo queue players. Since the average player apparently doesnt run copy and paste builds anyway. It should be a privilege to avoid the natural flow of the game, not the norm. Not every high level game should end with all survivors alive, and neither should solo queue games.
Then after doing that we can nerf killers like Nurse Blight and Huntress... because they are way too strong and consistent for solo queue games.

To be fair, if you buff something you wait and see how it affects numbers before making more changes.
The buff to solo queue might not affect the average number of kills killers get at all, it might increase the number of average kill or it could decease the number of average kills. Maybe the developers are doing it because Killers are getting above an average of 2 kills a game and this is a buff to survivors to balance the game. You just don't know.

Well they did give us kill rates in october and the highest they were was 59% for pinhead. After the nerf they gave him idk where it is now but im guessing the average is still around 50%.

What if you could use MMR to set how much time generator needs to be repaired?
This could be calculated in lobby based on total ELO of survivor team.
Let's say lower ELO survivor will need less time to repair gens, because they are not so good at looping and dies faster.
On the other hand high ELO survivors are better at the game (duh) are more effective and will live much longer so to prevent gens flying - required time to repair generators would be increased for them by X%

Use walls or high profile loops, run around the shack without going inside (the more painfull counter for Trickster). In fact the counters for Trickster being that simple is what make him so bad and underpowered in a lot of maps. OK, sometimes he can catch you in an open place and vaporize you, but he need to hook the people sometimes for winning and such, so it´s like a trade.

the team i faced who'd all finish the gens w/ busted op perks + add-ons but then purposefully all die to EGC to avoid raising their MMR would love this

So my suggestion is still valid because you face such teams today but they will get increased gens time - you could manage to kill 2 of them

There is no way killers need buffed. They need to ensure everyone has a fair chance, it shouldn't take a perfect SWF to win. SWF are probably in a good spot and from what I see, at least can get the gates opened.
As long as the killrates are much higher than 50%, then only survivor buffs are needed to ease the pain and doom of solo.

You can nerf SWF and punish people playing together, because they are already doing that to the killer by not touching SWF at all.

On one hand, I'm glad that we are finally singing from the same hymn book.
On the other hand, with the absolutely bizarre balance decisions in 5.5, I'm a bit leery of whether killers will actually get a buff as a result of this.
