Dead man's switch will not make into live servers
Put that perk on the artist and you can block all gens thats being repaired while camping a survivor.

Yeah I am sure the only meaningful killer change isn't gonna make it. Pretty par for the course.
21 -
Probably halve the block duration, which is still usable and better than before.
0 -
Lmao let's wait and see. More meta perks are always a good thing.
Maybe they could come up with another sort of condition if it proves to be too problematic. Like having to be in a certain range of the gen as killer in order for it to get blocked. But then low mobility killers would probably not get any use out of the perk.
0 -
Yea there is no way unfortunately.
0 -
making it so only 1 gen can be blocked at a time would be a good idea. but again, thats a huge nerf.
0 -
Survivors: Killers should play off meta! Think of our fun!
Also Survivors: Oh, this perk combo is OP! No, I don't want to wait to see it in action before making a conclusion. Just change it now.
Seriously; why not wait to see it in action before you assume it's OP? This is at least the 3rd thread I have seen complaining about this before anyone can TRY IT. Jeeze.
People just complaining 'Ink Lady + DMS = OP.' Without taking into account: Killer skill. Survivor Skill. Other Killer perks. Survivor perks. Maps. Etc.
They just threw these two things into a vacuum and assume 'This is how it will work. Time to complain!'
12 -
Yeah that would probably not work too well, make the perk widely inconsistent. Artist is also honestly the only killer I can think of that could make good use of the perk while camping, or at least proxy camping, so it would be a shame to have to nerf this perk that might actually finally be good because of one killer. But your concern is definitely a fair one. Just hit three different gens with your birds, and then survivors are forced to move off of them, and all of the gens are blocked.
I guess if it only affected the gen with the most progress, then it would have to activate whether a survivor is working on that gen or not. But then it would literally just be a combination of Deadlock and Pain Resonance. Probably too good actually with a duration of 45 seconds.

We saw boon totems being a problem way out in advance and you guys are getting 2+ months of them. I hope dead man's switch stays like this. Hell, i hope it gets even more buffed. >:)
19 -
they did nerf stridor because of spirit. so i wouldnt be surprised if they did the same with DMS. i really hope they dont nerf it killers need more perks like this one.
1 -
In fairness, Dead Man's has anti-synergy with regression perks since gens don't regress while blocked. So Killers will have to choose between Ruin/Pop/etc. or DMS.
As for Artist, it's not like she can shoot 7 crows at a time to check every gen. Plus she has to hit you with crows twice to injure and has a cooldown between shots. I really don't think it will be a problem. Maybe slightly nerf DMS's duration, but not by much.
3 -
Alternatively tho, it slots in nicely in my Artist build.
Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance, Deadlock, Hex: Plaything and now Dead Man's Switch.
We get that initial 15% regression and then the gen gets blocked!
3 -
Hmm, what about Pain Resonance, DMS, Plaything and Pentimento?
I am kinda worried about Pain Resonance with Deadlock, both target most repaired gen, right? What happens when it's blocked by Deadlock? Different gen, or nothing?
0 -
Not going to lie, I still wouldn't use it regardless. So I do not really care too much.
3 -
Would not surprise me one bit...Meanwhile in other news CoH still going strong.
Only once have I been wrong about a perk getting nerfed before live and that was Blood Favor. Thought for sure they wouldn't allow it live (Buffed Version) but they did......only for it to be nerfed by boons.
1 -
I just think it needs a small cooldown if anything, other than that it is fine imo. The community is constantly crying and pissing themselves that killer is hard, but when we have like loads of strong builds to use to make winning easy, then we want it nerfed? This community going sicko mode
0 -
They did in fact nerf blood favor on release during the last patch. Trickster's knives could activate it without doing damage and now they dont, only on an injure
0 -
100% that was never intended.
0 -
Oh yeah I'm sure but it was still technically a nerf
0 -
That's not a nerf that was a oversight. Never should have been like that to begin with.....A fix is not a nerf.
0 -
just like DH was fixed (not buffed) just so happened to be a ######### aspect on the killer pov.
1 -
Not really, it works as intended how it always should've been, not to mention in the PTB they made it where the survivor doesn't scream or show they got hit because of the validation, so now it looks like you actually missed. Validation fixes are good for the servers and the game, it is based on ping and besides the couple of killer interactions which should be getting fixed, it isnt a survivor sided change.
0 -
It was an oversight but still, it was strong in one singular aspect and now isn't. It wasn't intended but was still active for a moment
0 -
You just rambled there for no reason. I said it wasn't a buff so why you sent me a paragraph about it not being a buff and a good thing is a bit confusing cuz I never said it wasn't.
0 -
More of a bug correction I'd say.
0 -
I'm pretty sure they nerfed thrill for the same reason.
0 -
why do people say thrill was nerfed, it was a direct buff lol it is much better at totem protection than it ever was.
0 -
The only reason I ever ran thrill was for the notification which I can't get anymore?
0 -
Better walk across the map to check on my Ruin totem....whoops, no one there?
POP - POP - POP
1 -
Edit: I'm dumb.
0 -
Thats not how DMS works lol it activates regardless if survivors are on gens or not.
0 -
Yes but if Survivors leave a gen early, and walk away a few feet, the Artist can shoot her birbs at the gen, hit no one, thus no one is knocked off the gen, and now her power is on cooldown, and now Survivors can work on the gen again.
And, if the Survivors are aware of BBQ; they can even wait for it to run out before returnign to the gen, just preventing the Artist from knowing if she should shoot at the gens again.
DMS 100% should come over unchanged, because everyone touting this apparently unstoppable combo across at least 3 threads, is wrong.
3 -
DMS only blocks 1 gen at a time.
1 -
Thrill adds maybe ~4 seconds to cleansing a totem and only useful to make people not boon over hexs for pentimento because it takes so long. The notification let killers 100% protect their totems if they wanted to drop a chase. It was nerfed because of artist I bet since she could directly protect her totems across the map.
0 -
this perk destroys solo players lol.
1 -
Totally agree. SWFs will be able to counter it, but solos are just screwed. Business as usual.
0 -
I hope they keep the numbers the same since if they nerfed the time it's active low mobility killers will be too late to block the gen for long.
0 -
wait the cooldown then shoot again lol.
if they know bbq is a thing just wait 10 seconds then shoot.
0 -
dont underestimate them. Things that seem obvious arent to them
0 -
Except, sans BBQ; the Killer will probably assume they are not at the generatos they aimed at if they don't get a hit.
Jesus, it's like people are so desperate to nerf DMS before it gets used that they will invent every scenario they can to point at and say 'See!? It SOUNDS like it could be OP!'
0 -
put on the addon that gives you an additional dire crow + corrupt. down a survivor before corrupt ends and you can check all unblocked gens with the 4 dire crows.
1 -
yep I figured this when I played a match and was going for the save but saw that someone else was.. well gen now blocked so I'm standing doing nothing for however the f..k long it is. now we all dead at 5 gens, guess I got outplayed by no communication
0 -
It wasn't nerfed for artist, it was buffed to be a counter for boons.
BTW it is pretty simple math, before the "nerf" it only provided a 6% slowdown to cleansing per token, leading to a 30% slowdown to cleansing and it gave a notification. Now it provides 10% per token, leading to 50% slowdown. This makes cleansing a dull take 28 seconds, 14 more seconds, not 4. While blessing a dull this is the same, but thrill makes it where blessing a hex takes 56 seconds, a little more than 4 seconds. This makes it a defined buff to totem slowdown and boon defense, while undying is still a hex protection perk.
Over half the killers couldn't even go defend the boon if the notification activated because chases and pressure are more important.
0 -
I mean the notification removal was a pretty big change but i agree that a lot of people really underestimate just how much the slowdown was buffed.
Mostly cause people don't understand how it works. You'd be surprised how many people think it just adds 50% time to the totem instead of slowing the survivors progress by 50%. Even Otz and other 3000+ hour people got it wrong first
0 -
True but the main appeal of the perk was instantly knowing when people work on your hex instead of slowing it down a few more seconds. I'd rather know 100% if my hex is about to be removed than waste a little more time to get my game changing hex out.
0 -
CoH made it onto live servers.
Decisive Strike made it onto live servers.
So did OoO and a bunch of other stuff.
Let's put it this way. DMS is a decent perk that is really good on one killer. It's...Starstruck. If BHVR nerf it because it's good on one killer, that would be sort of crappy.
1 -
DEAD MAN'S SWITCH
needs a buff if not It won't be used like how it has been. what is the point if the perk can't compete with the meta theirs is no point in a rework if it has no chance of being used buff it or drop it.
0 -
As usual, the actual problem is camping.
If the Artist drops someone on hook, they can make it virtually impossible to work on any gen for the next 45 seconds, cutting off well over a third of the time survivors have to pop gens, open gates and leave.
0 -
That's a far stretch for a "nerf" don't you think?
