I don't really forgive them for that, it was one of their dumbest decisions, but I'm glad that after nearly two years it actually looks kinda decent, we need to see in the PTB.

Gearhad has such a cool perk icon, I'm glad it finally has some more practical use.

But it only works on great skill checks now, right? Or am I misunderstanding it? Could still end up being good though. Surely everyone hits a great skill checks every once in a while.

I'm hoping it's both, but they did use the phrase "rework" so it might be just great skillchecks. At least it has a permanent activation until someone hits a great though.

Yeah we'll have to see, but since it is permenant, it will still see it's use. I doubt there is any survivor team that can go without ever hitting a great skill check. And 10 seconds of aura reading on the survivor sounds great. My only concern is that if a survivor team realises that the killer has Gearhead, and they are swf, they will just counter an entire perk by not hitting great skill checks.

While Gearhead is finally a decent perk, I don't think it will see much play.

While the perk is now active until a survivor triggers a great skillcheck and activating the perk by simply damaging survivors is much better. The perk still suffers from the RNG nature of skill checks. Having a single survivor's aura for 10 seconds randomly is not going to be super useful most of the time. There's simply better information perks than Gearhead, but at least it's not useless anymore.

I wonder if the survivor gets to see they are being affected by gearhead. Kind of like Undying. That would just make it so no one would hit great skillchecks
