Are penalties working poorly?

I have been reporting to DBD technical support for several months on the issue of penalties. When another player disconnects at the end of the game, they penalize me, whether I am a survivor or a killer. Today two players disconnected and I was penalized for 30 minutes. the punishment and penalties dc when they do not work well is totally unfair. what is the purpose of forbidding playing the game when one plays fair?

DC penalties have failed miserable. How many times have they been disabled. How many more times would it take for behaviour to realise it was a failure. DC penalties should be removed... FULL STOP. They should take a page out of F13's book and create their own Salt Mines. F13 has never had any issues with the Salt Mines

I'm not sure about removing the penalty but the timer should always be a maximum of 5 hours. It shouldn't go over 5 hours. 24, 48, and 72 hours is absolutely ridiculous, especially if it's something out of your control (hackers holding you hostage, poor internet connection, BHVRs bad servers).

If we absolutely need to keep penalties. They shouldn't go past 30 minutes in my opinion. There are multiple factors to dc such as incredibly laggy servers to the point that you can't even play or hackers or even something out of your control such as losing connection in any way. I Don't think it's fair that players could get an hour or 5 hour ban because the past 5 games have been hackers.

Penalties should never leave and I would permanently quit the game if they did.

However, the variety of issues with it causing people to get banned when they haven't DC'd, need to be fixed. But I don't think it is anywhere near a large enough issue to justify removing DC penalties so no one can ever have a full match again.

Yeah 24/48/72 is pretty absurd. I wonder how they ever thought that was a good idea. A five hour penalty, for example, is punishment enough to dissuade people from DCing.

I currently just got out of a 24 hour ban due to disconnections out of my control. My issue with this is I paid for a game I should be able to play and I’ve purchased in-game items only to be told I can’t play the game(due to penalties) and nothing changes. Obviously I won’t be spending anymore money towards the game because I can tell the issue isn’t going to be resolved anytime soon. Side note, I have good internet and no problems with other multiplayer games.

Sent in a ticket to appeal the penalty as it’s an option in their drop down menu only to receive an automated response stating appeals are automated and nothing can be done. I would suggest removing the disconnect penalty appeal from the form to submit a ticket if the response is nothing can be done.

Its seeming as if this game has been a waste of time and money. Unfortunate because I enjoy the game when I’m not being disconnected.

penalties are useless when DBD servers go down. here in South America they fall and penalize. one is disconnected because there is a hacker in the game and they penalize. a game that punishes you unfairly. or if another player disconnects for any reason they also penalize for no reason ... it is a serious problem, you play fair but you are punished
