Why should I use pop?
I don't see a reason to use this perk anymore. You have to find in 60 seconds a gen that was worked enough on to get the 25% regression while you could also:
Use ruin. Ruin regresses 2x faster then nornal and you don't have to kick. Means when you chase a survivor or they go for a unhook in 12,5 seconds the gen lost 25% and with every passing second more and more.
Use Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance
Sure you have to be close by one of the four hooks and it only regresses 15% but you don't have to search a gen, you don't have to kick it, you know which gen is the closest to completion and when a survivor is working on it you even get that information and how many work on it.

Scourge Hook: Pain resonance was my game changer as a killer. In my MMR ranges the gens were flying left and right and the pressure on me was immense. But this perk finally gave me the breathing room I needed to finally get a foot back on the floor.
Its got a bit RNG, and some peeps hate that, but I gladly deal with a bit of RNG for all the advantages I got with this perk.
This perk especially shines with the tendency of survivors to hoom trade in order to avoid going into second stage. I even had a few times were they traded to many hooks in quick succession that the perk would fire off anymore.
Its biggest advantage is the ease of use and giving you instantly a new objective, ie actively fighting camping and tunneling.
Some peeps report a lot of success on pairing it off with pop for a quick 40% regression. The two perks are designed to be in-synergistic, but often a survivor will jump back on a far off gen in order to try to complete it.

PGTW is still a great perk but it's pretty much outclassed by Pain Resonance now.

I'm still not sure if Pain Resonance is better or worse than Pop.
When I can't find and advaced gen for using Pop feels bad but downing a survivor and not having a Scourge hook near you feels bad too.
If both were 15% or 25% I think I would say Pain Resonance is better.

I'd say they're about equal, honestly. PR requires more time investment to hook people and you can be cucked a perk if you get bad SH spawns. It massive increases killer downtime without, say, Agitation, but the benefit of that is free information and 15% regression, with the ability to chase the survivor off of the gen further. Also it works with Ruin.
PGTW means you have much less downtime when hooking, but you don't get the information. You can and always will be able to use PGTW, so it's the more consistent of the two, but due to this is weaker and the regression depends on you managing to get over to the gen in the first place. And it doesn't work with Ruin.
They're two different perks for the same role. One is more consistent but less powerful while the other is more powerful with a higher risk.
I like using Pop because I like consistency.

Its not 60 seconds but 45, it was nerfed some time ago.
But yea, no reason to use this perk since kicking gens is a waste of time even with Pop active

You could also go for both, really set back a gen if people dare to tap it again.

Still think that the perk could be basekit. It gives the killer a reason to leave the hook instead camping. Killers will still camping but maybe a few think about to kick a gen instead.
