End of nft collaboration?

That is also a very fair point, some of the DbD artists were basically tricked into producing NFTs.

The problem regarding BHVR is that they deliberately worked with Park Avenue fully knowing those models were going to be used for NFTs and BHVR didn’t tell the community how the Pinhead chapter is connected to NFTs nor did they tell their employees who were basically tricked into producing NFTs (as @Firellius has just pointed out)
also, I am not a supporter of pop figures or vinyls but at least I was fully aware of those and again, why even bring this up? It’s still not that well comparable as one is a digital scam and the other is a physical product

The chapter is not related to the NFT. The model is. Only the model that Park Avenue licensed out, not BHVR.
0 -
Nope
5 -
Ok well then the previous point still stands. BHVR licensing out their characters to make pop figures that use fossil fuels and non recyclable plastic is less bad than being 5x removed from ETH purchases.
0 -
You are repeating yourself. And that’s not excuse for them to agree to work on NFT models nor is it an excuse to not inform their customers or employees at an appropriate time instead of waiting for this after most of the people already bought the Hellraiser chapter.

How many times do I have to say the chapter is in no way involved with the NFT. It's the MODEL. Why does it matter if they announced it or not? If you want to be mad at BHVR as a company for just licensing out their work for NFTs at all then that's fine. But don't come in here and say they tricked you and you bought into an NFT or supported one when dbd or the chapter has 0 connection to Boss Protocol.
It's just virtue signaling especially when you're faced with an actual dbd connection to an environmental damaging collectible and just don't care at all because you probably own a pop figure. It's not right.

Imagine being told seven times over that NFTs are far more damaging than pop figures + vinyls ever will be, for far less utility, thus making them an absolute waste of resources and a disgrace to the basic economic problem and humanity in general, and continuing to say "yeah but pop figures".
4 -
how many times do you have to be told that the chapter is related to NFTs and buying the chapter is directly giving the license holder money and thus supporting NFTs?
and for the record - while pop figures are not as environmentally damaging as NFTs - I am not supporting them nor do i own any at all. But they are still a physical thing to buy instead of a scam where you are paying money for nothing but supporting Etherum farming and illegal activities like money laundering.

Just saying that something is true doesn't make it true.
0 -
Yeah. Regarding your statement about pop figures being worse than NFT I guess your statement, that just saying something doesn’t make it true, makes sense.
5 -
Which is exactly the case for your pop figures do some research
4 -
Let's make this a bit eaiser:
Show the class your research demonstrating that NFTs are either more or less environmentally damaging than physical memorabilia.

Are BVHR getting royalties for the NFT?
They stated in the Twitter post that they were involved and approved the designs.
Do we know if they’re actively profiting from the sale as well?

NFTs are basically the new-age 'I have a bridge to sell you'.
Anyone who buys into them is a massive idiot.

Not to mention some of the... Disgusting NFTs out there. Like ones based on George Floyd or Etika.
This took me about 2 minutes on Google + Twitter on my phone because everything I normally have linked is on my pc at home, so there's likely some stuff missing. Still, here's some sources.

I'm not denying that ETH isn't harmful for the environment, my point is that if you're not ok with NFTs but are ok with the toy industry making islands of plastic in the ocean then there is a problem.

I never said that it was good, I said that I'd rather things that serve a purpose be made, instead of burning down the rainforest for a URL to a ######### jpeg.
Ideally, we wouldn't have either, and all plastic would be recyclable, with some developments in tech allowing for it to be biodegradable, or find some way to degrade it, without causing more irreversible harm. Alas, this currently isn't the case.
I'm not a fan of either but at least one isn't a cover for a money laundering scheme, a massive scam, and utilises several illegal practices just to hike up the prices.

Lets also not forget that BHVR basically lied to all of us when we discovered that the Pinhead model was being used to create the NFTs suggesting that that the licensing partners had done it without their knowledge with this post:
Which came literally 4 days before saying they had worked closely to develop the NFTs with Boss Protocol!
5 -
You made the claim that NFTs were the less problematic of the two. Let's see your work.
5 -
Boss Protocol stated on their discord that they have no control as to why the voice lines were removed.
0 -
I think it's more with regards to the fact that Hellraiser now has a different IP owner who okay'd the voice lines.
1 -
Maybe, but we will truly never know. Pinhead uses his actual VA now which could indicate legal issues. It could also be just a detail by BHVR.
1 -
I believe someone from BHVR confirmed that the original IP holder denied permission for the voice lines.

You're asking me to find you evidence that plastics hurt the environment more than NFTs...? Do you want an entire book of sources?
0 -
I want some form of evidence, yes.
4 -
I would really need to see a source for that.
1 -
Yikes. The quality of this bait is so low, it hurts my head.

i know this is an old thread but i came across this matter, could you explain what happened and why people are so mad? I am really confused lol

PixelBush made a (rather lengthy) video about the NFT debacle involving Pinhead, as well as another case involving CryptTV. You should check that out since it has the most complete story.
