Ok so im not usually a killer main but i need a break from survivor boredom
So im forcing myself to actually get good at being Hag as ive always found games against her fun. So its time to flip the script as they say in showbiz and finally really give playing a killer a shot rather than just an easy way to make bp. There are a lot of old guides for hag out there and while they are still somewhat good im looking for a build and play style for her that is newer maybe using some artist perks tho the build doesnt need too. So please give me some tips and strats to playing her well as well as what perks to switch too if i see a flashlight in the lobby. Thanks in advance for any advice you may provide.

Unfortunately I have nothing to offer in terms of advice or resources.
...but I would be interested to hear your thoughts on why hag is fun to play against.
Personally, I find her to be the most boring killer to play as and against, so I'm slightly intrigued by your post.
I should note:
Every hag I come across is either running Devour Hope/Make Your Choice (rightfully so, it is a strong build) or Franklin's with Silent Traps. Its a landslide 4k every time.

Currently using Agitation/Corrupt Intervention/Deadlock/Franklin's Demise on my hag and have been pretty happy with the results. CI and Deadlock for stall with agitation to take advantage of hag's great basement game. Franklin was for flashlights originally but it works great on hag no matter the item cuz you can make them drop it then trap the item and punish them for trying to get it back.
If you want a build with artist perks I haven't gotten artist yet but have been theory crafting build for when I do and I think pain resonance could be great for hag since her mobility is trash and you arn't really built to patrol gens too much. Something like Agitation/Corrupt/Pain Resonance/Gift of Pain could be an idea it lets you slow down the game without having to patrol or kick the gen yourself.
Whatever you do I don't think I'd play hag without corrupt you really need those two minutes to create your web and corrupt lets you do that and forces survivors into it sooner. Also I generally don't trap gens mostly crossroads where a lot of looping routes intersect and can expect to see a lot of traffic and then predicting the routes people will go after they spring the trap also don't put a billion traps around a hook you only need one unless it's basement but even then I don't commit more than 3-4.

I find killers that can cause oh @#$& moments the most fun where your not quit sure what to expect tho she does have typical builds. Her builds I’ve seen other players use in the past have varied so much I just didn’t know what the new hag build was. In others words any killer that can cause jump scares is fun to me

You can use "Make Your Choice" with Rusty Shackles or Mint Rag to get mid-distance Exposed when people are rescuing off hook, which is pretty fun when it works. But that uses purple and iridescent addons, so you can't reasonably do too many of those games.
Similarly, you can use Mint Rag or Rusty Shackles with Basement perks and set up an advance Warning trap system to guard a central basement pretty well. Doesn't work if the basement spawns on the edge of the map though, and again: addons dependent.
Typically you just pick three to four generators that are in a good position, lay a circle of traps around them, and chase survivors out of that circle. If you manage to down somebody, you carry them into your web with Agitation or Iron Grasp. When people go for a save, you're in place to either chase them away or hook them in your web too.
The down side is that normally she does super well by using teleport to get an early hit and drive people away, slowing down the game as she set and resets her traps. But that was when healing took 32 seconds. With boons, survivors heal in 4-8 seconds, so hit and runs super don't work anymore. She's VERY difficult to play with boons, and she's too slow to go out of her web to search for them and snuff them out (and it typically leaves you too far away to teleport back in to defend your 3-gen).
So good luck. I liked playing her, but found she's nearly unplayable these days.

Old or not, I definitely recommend watching Michi's channel and his Hag guide. Everything he says in that guide is still true as far as I know.
Also as far as Michi goes, one of the more interesting builds that uses an Artist perk he did recently was
- Scourge Hook Pain Resonance - Regresses most progressed gen by 15% and forces survivors off it
- Dead Man's Switch - When he showcased this, it used the current version where when he hooks the Obsession it blocks the generator that Pain Resonance explodes for 45 seconds assuming the survivors were on it. As of the PTB though Dead Man's Switch now triggers on all hooks, not just the Obsession, so it's even more powerful
- Furtive Chase - Again, with the current Dead Man's Switch, it requires hooking the Obsession. So he used Furtive Chase to swap the Obsession when they got rescued. This perk isn't necessary as of the PTB though, you could replace it with something else such as Corrupt Intervention to give yourself more time to place traps in the start of the match
- Make Your Choice - Makes the rescuer of someone Exposed. As Hag when this happen you can usually just teleport back and get an easy hook trade back on the Scourge Hook for more slowdown.

Welcome to killer stress

Lol agreed it is stressful when they know to tap you traps on purpose

Killer in general is just more stressful for most people, you have to constantly be doing things to do well, but at least teammates can't sandbag you since you don't have any.

Survivors are so bored they're playing Killer and Killers are so bored they're quitting. What a world. 😓

Generally you want to pick a side of the map and stick to it. Hag is the most territorial Killer in the game. You don't care if gens across the map get done, you just patrol your perimeter. Setup a 3-gen ASAP and defend it to the death.
Alternatively, you could run Mint Rag with Make Your Choice, which allows you to teleport back to every unhook and get a down for free. It's possibly one of the strongest combinations in the game.

I'm not a pro hag, but the usual way to play hag and the one I use is going to three or four close gens and putting traps in the zone, save some traps for using them in loops and forcing survivors to press W till they get in your web of traps, if they are idiots thew won't notice you set a trap in the loop or jungle gym and you have a free hit or down, and of course putting trap under hooked survivors, put traps again in the zone, rinse and repeat. Of course the gens in the zone you've put your traps must be defended at all cost.

It depends on your playstyle, just don't change it in match because you are going to lose

i just want a build to practice getting better at her with doesnt have to be top shelf or anything yet

Look up Michi on YouTube, one of the best Hag players out there.
Also, for your sanity, don’t play killer past 7/8PM. That’s when all the sweaty try hates whose goal is to bully killers come out.

At the beginning devour/ruin/the exhaustion perk of the demo and something you like or have.
That in case you don't have nothing with the hag
