Why not just add some BP incentive to the less played side.
Don't really understand why bhvr hasn't tried this solution. Unless they have some data to indicate that more BP incentives don't work. It seems like it'd be a pretty simple solution to a couple problems right now.
1; The grind in this game is agonizing particularly for newer players
2; It would be nice to be able to complete all the surv archives within my lifetime.
Seriously go crazy. Give the underplayed side 100%, 200%, 300%, a new perk for free every game idc. BP is capped at 1mil so it's not like older players would save up some exorbitant amount of BP.
I do understand that bhvr may see this as a bandaid instead of a permanent solution and I guess it kind of is. Band-aids are meant to be removed when the wound heals though.

That's what daily rituals already do, no?
I'm fairly sure that its tailored to primarily give you rituals to the side you play less, seeing as 90% of my rituals are always Killer ones.
I'm lucky to get a Survivor ritual a week.

Yes, i also get mostly killer dailys. But the 30k are not enough.

I just think they should make bloodpoints double permanently, it shouldnt take me almost 2 survivor matches to do a single bloodweb
0 -
Cause it will change nothing the game is still too rng focused and ATM no amount of blood points the devs give unless it's an exuberant will change that

I honestly think this could be good for the game. It helps with the grind and with the queue times for those who are having long times waiting. And it doesn't hurt either side really
1 -
It could help, but as a former killer main who can still 4k regularly it's still not fun. Now I play just for challenges.
I must not be alone because of the queue times.
1 -
I could have sworn they stated they were working on this or something like it to incentivize people to play whichever role is less played at a certain time. As a way to deal with queues. I believe it was mentioned during the 5th Anniversary stream. But it's behavior and they state all the time they are looking at something and then it just never happens.

Honestly not even a trillion of BP will make me waste my time on returning to the game and play killer. A lot of things needs to be changed.
3 -
I read the same somewhere a while ago but I couldn't find the source. I hope they are still working on it

And if you're a killer main you get surv ones, when Killer is the less played side.
0 -
BP incentives can only do so much if one side just isn't fun to play.
4 -
?? I think it's pretty easy to infer from my 2nd point that I see this as mostly a killer participation issue.

Killers do actually get slightly more BP than survivors overall. This is most noticeable in games you lose as killer vs. losing as survivor.
That said, honestly - just make BBQ and WGLF BP gains baseline for everyone.
BHVR actually claimed that they were going to eliminate perk tiers completely about a year ago. For some reason that never materialized.
0 -
Giving more BP will absolutely break the game with every one bringing their strongest Add ons every match. Which I already do with Blight if I use BBQ and Chili.
They should just remove perk tiers in the blood web that's it.
0 -
Not really, i haven't played more than 10 survivor games since release and 80% or more of my dailies are still killer or can be rerolled to killer.
0 -
To the removing of tiers, yes and amen.
But where is the correlation between more BP and the increasing tryhardness of people?
Why would the go harder when they are guaranteed more BP?
2 -
Because believe it or not not every one is carrying strongest add on in the game because it's not infinite. If every trial has double BP like everyone is asking you're going to get non stop strong add ons on each side. Getting strong add ons would be more doable and basically pays for itself each trial.

Im willing to sacrifices x2 BP events to remove perk Tiers.
BP earning isnt a problems, its the perk Tiers.

No, the daily rituals are just random, they’re not tailored toward anything.

I’m sure some people would take advantage of incentives to play the side with the longer queue times. Not me though, I don’t enjoy playing survivor and I don’t need the bloodpoints.
0 -
Ditto.
I play maybe 80/20, and maybe 3/4 of my dailies are killer based.
If only they were killers I like playing. I swear, when it's not Nurse, it's Blight. And when it's not Blight, it's Legion.

I mean its not a very good incentive tbh, those dailies aren't worth #########.

Bribing players to play killer won´t work as long as killer isn´t fun to play as.
0 -
They said long ago they would like to implement exactly that. Still, nothing. Making new cosmetics and new chapters with unbalanced killers takes all their time.

Who is talking about killer? Killer is the most played side, killer queue takes up to 20 minutes during daytime.
0 -
Killer queue during the day is never longer than 1 minute and during prime time none existant.
So I'm not sure where you got this 20 minute nonsense from.
3 -
Yeah, I was thinking this would be nice for survivor during the day. I do not need more incentive to play killer, but I would take it.
0 -
I'm talking from actual experience, and the situation with the queues hasn't changed for the last 3 years at least. The only time we had quick killer lobbies during daytime was for 2 weeks after they introduced crossplay. Killer is the most popular role and has always been, no need to make up "nobody plays killer" nonsense in hope for new survivor nerfs.

If Killer wasn't so head into desk atm more people would probably play it.
The current state of the game is horrible for old and new alike, Have some poor newbie running into CoH and deadhard teams, you can be sure they won't be playing killer for long.
0 -
Not sure where you are playing. But i haven´t seen a killer queue longer than 3 minutes since that halloween event where survivor mains were forced to play killer in order to get all the event coins. ( i think that was 2 years ago, maybe 3) Turning killer queues into 30 minutes. Which was solved after a couple of days by removing the requirement to play killer.

I personally think this is a great idea, overwatch has a system where loot boxes are awarded to people who queue up for the least played side, this drastically sped up queue times.

Different regions with different playerbase exist. Killer queue is extremely long during the day in EU servers, and becomes instant in the evening/night
But that doesn't fit your view of "nobody plays killer because killer weak" so let's pretend I didn't even reply to you
1 -
I would welcome this soo much! One perk is kinda permanently set in with BBQ, unless I try for a certain tome challenge or build and I sometimes refrain from playing killers with whom I haven't unlocked the BBQ perk, yet.
I would love to run Rancor from time to time or some other interesting perk, but BBQ is sooo needed just to cut down the grind.

No, killer queue isn´t extremely long during the day in EU servers. I would know, because i play in the EU servers, during the day. The last week, the killer queue was never longer than 3 minutes. So again, i don´t know where you guys are sitting, that you get 20 minute queues. Is your cross play off?
Not sure, what you are trying to achieve with the rest of the phrase. Since i haven´t said anything about killers being weak. Maybe read again what i wrote.

I've found during the morning/afternoon there are more active killers than survivors but during the night there are more survivors than killers.
0 -
But it's nowhere near 20 minutes.
For me it's between 2 and 3 minutes during the day and starting at around 4 or 5 PM it becomes instant.

The issue with your idea, is one side can be played with friends, and the other cannot. A significant portion of players are SWF,, and maybe they may play one killer match, but not as many as they will with friends.

Soloq isnt fun either and less bp than killer lol
