Focus on other forms of hate as well
Yes, DBD has taken away Bubba's masks for a good reason. So, I'll give them that.
However, the devs haven't focus on other forms of hate, more in the line of hate speech.
Every other match I get a simple message that tells me to go to forever sleep (Yes, I did censer myself). I report them and a week later I see them still in my games. Then on top of just post game because at times I hide post game chat, my steam gets filled with comments on my profile saying the same thing or worse. And some of my friends on console get the same thing, so it's not limited to PC.
Again, good job on fighting against some hate, but now you need to do it for all forms

Truth is, they didn't really stop any hate. They just did this to try to look better.
I've also been called slurs in chat a lot of times, i even had a person threatening to dox me for weeks, and even one just last week asking me for my address to come to my house and kill me.
Other people have reported on here that they sent reports to BHVR about finding actual racists in game, and those same racists are still playing.
They only care about harassment if people make a fuss about it on twitter, same goes for the color blind situation, that they only addressed once they were called out. They care about how they look for the outside and for the media, not really about their players experience.

BHVR's policy towards moderation is just so...odd.
On one hand, they remove the masks - which I am against on principle, but it's their game so I don't really get a say.
On the other hand, they've confirmed that anything short of actual threats or racial slurs in postgame are not only acceptable, but an integral part of online gaming.

Close the Chat - and don´t read it. It is also only on PC.
This is simple - works immediately - and the hate is gone.

BHVR is a business. The sooner people remember this the better. As a business BHVR could care less about anything so long as their image is clean and profit lines are positive. Bubba Masks being removed is only happening because enough people cried about it it drew attention to them.
Remember how for years forum members and devs would say that color blind options wouldn't be added so as to prevent giving unfair advantages? And than everyones favorite BHVR Sesame Street character Almo called people who kept asking about a basic inclusion option annoying? And than an article was written calling BHVR on their nonsense out?
Oh suddenly BHVR were sad, because theie "surprise reveal" of colorblind options was ruined? No, their image of inclusiveness and caring about their players got a stain and they did damage control.
BHVR does not care about any of us. Individual mods and devs might, but as far as the company is concerned they only care about you when they may lose access to your wallet.

I've said before they should remove chat and use those resources on the more important things in the game. Chat is completely unnecessary for the game.
I also think they should give everyone their own DBD ID, remove the ability to go to players profiles to end toxic messages being sent outside the game. In game have survivors be survivors 1-4, end game screen show DBD ID for each survivor for reporting purposes. This will also help streamline reporting between platforms if each player has a specific DBD ID for their account.

That doesn't fix the problem that these people are going unpunished which promotes them to keep doing it. I mean why not if your not going to have ant consequences why stop telling people to 9ff themselves or that they are a whatever racial slur. What if that person is having a bad time and just trying to enjoy a game they like and they are told some stuff that sets them over the edge. But it's OK because you could of just ignored it.

There was no good reason for taking away masks. There was only good intention which I appreciate but it's still and absolutely horrible decision.

Blatant hate speech/bigotry/slurs/threats/encouraging self-harm/etc should be an immediate permanent ban from the game. There is absolutely no excuse ever for any of those sorts of things to be said, ever. People don’t say a slur in a heated moment if the slur wasn’t already part of the vocabulary. And if you’re encouraging self harm or threatening people over a game, you should talk to a therapist and severely re-evaluate yourself.
