Flashlight clickers are pretty irritating and toxic
Yes, I said it. I'm beyond irritated by flashlight clickers, damn near blacked out at the end of my last game because a survivor thought it would be cool to clicky clicky.
I either pass out/ blackout or have really bad migraines which send me to the ER most of the time, Thankfully it wasn't one of those times.
BHVR needs to do something about it because eventually someone who's epileptic is going to have seizure due it. There is NO excuse for allowing it to go on.
End Rant!

But it's part of internet culture and a respectable tactic. /s
Yeah, no, the clicky-clicky needs to be limited somehow. Balls to the people who'll be upset at losing the ability to instantly cancel and aim again if they miss; pretty sure basic health considerations take precedence over ability ease of use.

If it's not as easy to bully killers them BHVR loses out on that sweet sweet colorful Feng cosmetic 💰💰

Some video games have flashing lights and part of living with a disability is having to restrict yourself from things that might cause triggers. My disability means there's certain things in life I don't get to experience, and an unfortunate part of reality is that I simply have to deal with that.
I see a few posts with people claiming that flashlights trigger epilepsy, but clicking flashlights doesn't actually create a strobelight effect. There are multiple tiles in games that have flashing lights in the tiles that can trigger these effects but I never see complaints about those. Why is this?

Nah, I've seen someone complain about the generators and Haddonfield too.
Still, there's like a new thread every few days about flashlight clicking giving photosensitivity headaches. That seems like an obvious cue to just add a cooldown. Simple accessibility change, most of the people having physical issues with it are now fine, everyone else is saved the BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT of someone using a scrollwheel or something.

"Living with a disability is having to restrict yourself from things that might cause triggers?" Yeah, sure, except there's this really great thing called accessibility options that we use to increase the net of activities you can enjoy with disabilities, and also to increase the groups that can play this game. And this particular problem would be an incredibly easy fix. It doesn't even have to remove clicking (though nothing of value would be lost if they did); you just need to create a visibility toggle on your end for the blindness screen and the flashlight beam in its entirety. Make it a dull dark grey instead of searing white.
But sure, tell people they should just not play DBD because clicky clicky go brr.

Interesting point. Although I have no idea what tile you’re referencing.

Probably the ones with police cars. Maybe Lery's center room?
Still a really terrible take to discount flashlights as a potential problem, especially when there's multiple accounts of people having migraine issues with them already.

I just hate that loud noise the rapid fire macros make, it’s super annoying. I wish the devs would limit the sound effect to once per second.

..why do you black out, get ER worthy migraines and keep coming back?

If it's literally coming within a hairs' breadth of hospitalizing you on any sort of regular basis? No, you really shouldn't.
Like, you see the rake on the ground, and you keep walking into it, and at some point you need to have some self-responsibility because there's clearly more you can do about this than keep walking into the rake.

They won't do anything unless some public figure sends bad pr their way (colourblind mode) or someone has a fit and they get sued. I mentioned this being a problem for light sensitive people ages ago and got told to sod off by survivor mains.

This is genuinely one of the more fascinating things about Dead by Daylight to me. The Devs will go into an extreme extent to ensure everyone feels welcome, going as far as to add and remove several things, combined with an overly friendly "how do you do fellow gamers" attitude on social media, but when it comes to things like this, there's nothing. Complete silence. "Just suck it up, lmao".

Oh alright.

My right to troll killers is more important than your right to good health. The devs agree :)

Behavior and the community have made it clear that BM is an important part of the game and the only truly BAD BM in the game is tunneling and camping because "it denies them being able to play." I suggest switching to survivor, which doesn't have to deal with genuine BM near as much.

I have complained about indoor gens flickering lights many times and I wasn't really alone... So maybe you didn't pay attention to posts like this before much?
You also have doctor but that is not really in repeating interval.
Just normal clicking is fine, problem is when someone combines it with macro and you are stuck in some animation like pallet breaking etc.

3 months is nothing if you think about how slow they made any changes...

He is not trolling you or gatekeeping you lol.
You rly don't see the point? Okay, let me give you different example. Lets say if someone have nut allergy that is causing him to have hard headaches or he is even at risk to go to hospital anytime he eats nuts.
So would you keep eating these nuts even when you are risking your health / life?! Just because it tastes good? (that would be his reason lets say). "It tastes good but it is bad for my health so lets keep eating that".

Difference is this is something that can be easily prevented to happen...
You know, lot of games already found out what cool-downs are to limit spamming some actions, but I guess cool-down can be used only for killers.

Yes. I hope they will improve the game for sure. But for the time being (NOW and near future) it is still risky.

It's problem for me when I am stucked in animation -> I can't look away and Haddonfield / some other indoor gens are pain with flickering lights. I fix that with looking into a wall in some angle and hope I am not against stealth killer :D
Nvidia Filters help me a lot with this too. But that can't really fix flashlights and I hate that sound. Well, when someone tries to spam it or dare to use macro, I usually let them bleed out, that's more safe than camping, harder to prevent...

I mean, people are using it to harass people and removing this tool would prevent that. They care about the players, I think this would be a great change.
