I'm here to try and counter whatever you were told and wish you to be happy. Play a game you have fond memories of and makes you smile.
I will never understand why/how people can be so cruel to strangers, not knowing what the other person is going through and telling them such disgusting #########.
That safety net of anonymity brings the worst in some.

To be fair, I have only seen a toxic killer end game chat post like once, it is pretty rare compared to the survivor variant which is complained about day in and day out.
And the one time I did see it, people were saying to just ignore it.

I don't know what you are talking about, whenever someone complains about insults in end game chat there are always people who say "just ignore it", it's just the basic answer for many people who think that anyone who can't just shake off insults is the problem.
Although in this case I think it is because the OP seems to recive hate over Microsoft services and BHVR has said that they can't (or don't want to, idk) handle offences on other platforms, so if Microsoft ignores OP's report there is not much you can do (maybe disabling messages from people who are not on your friend list, idk, I'm not on console). When people insult over end game chat you can give the advise to report them and BHVR does ban people for insults (I'm not sure if a 48h ban will lead to a learning effect though, but that is a different story), but this is not the case here as far as I understand.
If Survs complain about toxicity in endgame chat it is usually coming from other Survs and I saw a forum user complaining about this situation not long ago and they also got the "get-over-it" - answer.

Completely agree. They support team literally do nothing against offenders, even with hard evidence as screenshots or videos. Idk what are they doing there and what are they getting pay off.

As for life in general it is better to learn to ignore things. Toxic people in real life are rarely getting punished. (maybe by karma sometimes)

Irl toxicity is only enabled from positions in power. Otherwise, they would get smoked, cuh. The issue with video games is you can't roll up and take back some respec.

If you are a toxic idiot after a game irl no one would play with you again.
And you had to learn to loose games as well. But the internet is just typing things on the keyboard - there is no real other. And some let all their other frustrations fly off.

People here justifying death wishers by talking to a victim to ignore it, turn off the chat or getting a thicker skin are disgusting.
The support team don't take an action against those people and as a result they feel like they can do whatever they want.

Telling someone to kill themself is a permanently bannable offense in the game, problem here lays in support team that ignores reports like this, even with evidence. Ignoring these toxic people is making it worse, because you allow them to get above the rights against other people too.

Seriously - do you really care that much what an unknown stranger writes to you in a game chat?
He most likely lives in another country and probably you will never see him ever again. And he will forget what he wrote after the next match.
And normally idiots are getting the most annoyed if you don´t react to them.
I for my part think it is better for me if y can deal with this on my own. You can´t always expect help from someone else.
Agreed - Don´t be the idiot, be nice. With ignoring i mean more like don´t engage in the anger or toxicness.
Once i got a bad mail after a match. But i answered in a nice way and at th end the person was nice too. Of course this doesn´t work always - but maybe sometimes.

I am sorry to hear this, though I have to press a question, how did it go on for an hour, unless you was messaging back? End game chat should be removed but it wont ever stop the problem or issue, any time someone crops up with some nasty stuff just block, don't bite and bait to these people as it's exactly what they want. End game chat for me on ps5, I exit the game very much right away and if someone messages me, and it isn't anything nice, I end up giving a smiley emoji and then ignore/block it is simple as that. It's never going to go away but you can do things to prevent it for yourself, some people are cruel and horrid but don't bite and bait to it, it's really a simple thing to do and some have thicker skin then others, but not what I am saying. It's like on social media, if someone is hating just block/ignore them.

I’m pretty sure you can block messages from non-friends so why didn’t you do that? You also could’ve just disabled notifications so you don’t see when they send messages

It's not a matter of accepting and moving on about what other players say to you, but realizing that the person being targeted could be passing through hard times irl...
This is why I think online games nowadays should focus way more on hiring teams to actually gather and look info about bullies in their games everyday...and I know game companies do that but I think they should do that in full force, cause right now it feels lackluster... It's not just with this game but it's super hard to actually report someone anywhere and see an outcome out of it

This happens with every online game, that is just how the internet is. Besides that obvious point, having a problem with people outside of the game isn't BHVR fault, and as an xbox player, microsoft does in fact take action, it takes very little for them to warrant a message as bannable.

BHVR should just get rid of the end-game chat. Of course you can disable it yourself, but there’s literally no upside to having in the game other than best-case being able to tell someone GG. It’s not worth the amount of toxicity and harassment that it enables. If BHVR cares so much about eliminating bullying and harassment, they should just get rid of the end-game chat.

I am playing killer sometimes and most of the time i get 4k before all gens done. Never ever anyone said anything rude. I guess you just tunneling and camping. That's only reason when survs go salty. Get better, stop being disgusting and noone will tell you a thing. Nobody likes weak people that survive only by going nasty way. Good luck

Nah, survivors get nasty even when I play nice. And some survivors are nice even when I face camp them. Just ran into a group who was very polite and wondering why I face camped one of them, I thought they were abusing the locker glitch, and they didn't even realize it was a thing. We both misunderstood, told each other GG, good luck in the next, and to have a great night.
I felt horrible about face camping a nice group like that. Usually I quite enjoy hamming it up as a killer, and when the survivors are degen, I feel extremely justified in ruining their experience. But when they are nice, I have my regerts.

Never said I was against it. Also never said it would fix the problem. That being said this persons problem seems to be that people keep messaging them after games telling them to harm themselves. So changing their message setting would fix their problem. Would've fixed it for them quite a while ago, and this discussion would not have happened.

I play online fighting games with less trash talk and in DBD it mostly harassment/telling someone to hurt themselves or wishing something bad would happen to them and that just sick.

Turn off chat and make your profile private if you are on Steam. I never had to do this before until I started to play killer in DBD, the entitlement and hostility of some survivors is quite something.

No, not at all. But keep thinking you have some divine right to be a crappy person in-game for <vague reasons>. It just shows you're part of the problem. Other games have less toxic player bases because they actually moderate toxicity, like functioning adults.
