How to fix nemesis

Im a Nemesis Main killer and I generally have at least 200 hours on nemesis at this point as a red ranked killer. Nemesis is not a “weak” killer but he’s not that very good either. This is my suggestion on balancing Nemesis into being a more fair killer overall.

  1. Make tentacle whip hitboxing a tad bit wider. there are just too many examples of whipping a survivor with your M2 ability as nemesis only to see it go through the survivor or “clip” through there bodies because there hitbox is alittle off by the way they moved. Increasing the width of the tentacle whip by a tad bit would tremendously fix this frustrating situation that occurs every single game a minimum of 2 times. I cannot stress how frustrating it is when you watch you M2 a survivor in the face and because of hitbox fuckery they now get a 30 second lead which can equal 1 to 2 generators completed by the time you down them. Its too much of a deadhard tier of a choice when it occurs.
  2. make Tier 3 Tentacle whip do damage regardless of infected with virus or not. Okay this seemed like a general no brainer to me and is kind of weird that it doesn’t already do this. If you are able to get to Tier 3 mutation you should not only get the extra meter but the ability to infect AND damage in 1 strike meaning it takes only 2 whips to down rather than the normal 3 whips. Would make nemesis so much better over all.
  3. give zombies better pathing. After a certain amount of time, the zombie AI just gets stuck in walls or weird stairways/odd corners. There pathing seems predetermined for a certain time frame then they just go afk in a corner. Id be preferred to see them more actively engaging with a longer period of time of pathing before they just find a corner and fall asleep.
  4. make virus chests important to search for. I generally do not know what could be changed to make being infected actually matter besides nemesis able to hurt you with his tentacle. Most red rank survivor sweats will just ignore all virus chests and this makes most of Nemesis Add-ons kind of useless or niche to use. Personally the speed zombie perks and increased mutation rate from survivors is much more useful than any Red Add-ons.

I think these changes would overall make Nemesis a decent killer and feel more like you should as a Mediocre killer.

    1. You can drag the hitbox to make it artificially wider and by making it wider directly it will be easier to lose it on the corners and way worse at windows

4 It goes against number 2 and yeah, vaccines are very situational

You clearly dont play alot of nemesis but the drag method generally does not work after tier 1. Generally speaking the hitbox on the tentacle should be a hair wider than what it is or make it to where the whip hit everything and not 1 object at a time i.e. you whip someone on the other side of the pallet/window and it sometimes picks the pallet over the survivor etc. also would be nice change to deal with body blockers if you can whip multiple people in a line like how Pyramid heads M2 works.

Nemesis is fine, he does not need to fix. I love him design and power. He just needs smarter zombies. They are so stupid. Fix zombie AI and he is perfectly balanced.

This. At least make them despawn if they have not left a proximity for 10 seconds outside of blind.

Yeah this can work too. As Nemesis, i have not map pressure. I should trust zombies for this but they are so useless most times. If BHVR fix them, Nemesis is great killer.

Personally from experience the zombies I use as just pointers for where to look 90% of the time and run 100% zombie speed so they actually can do some interesting plays off them. Generally speaking zombie AI isnt good and thats the only fix they need. The M2 tier 3 not adding damage and viral infection in 1 hit is just silly and making the M2 have a tiny wider hitbox would be nice. Just a tad bit wider. Nothing insane.

I did not get the infected state either - it does not do much - you can ignore it. Less than Plague.

Infected should do something after a certain time.

Slow you down or worsen your sight (or - my favourite - turn you into a zombie over time - ok, would be too powerful with only 4 vacs)

And yes - Zombie pathing needs to improve.

    Thoughts:

    1. no, he doesnt need a wider hitbox. The fact that you can start closing distance while a pallet is broken in t2 and t3 already compensate for the hitbox being smaller.
    2. Also, no. If you could do damage without infection in t3. then you should be able to get out of t3 too. The whip is very powerful in loops, there is a reason why it takes 3 hits with a whip. You cant drop a pallet without getting whipped, you cant vault a window without getting whipped. A huntress can injure in the same scenario, but a huntress needs to reload her power too, not including the fact that huntress cant break pallets with her hatchets.
    3. Yeah, this is pretty much the only thing Nemesis really needs.
    4. They are already important, it means turning a 2 hit down into a 3 hit down. Thing is, you need to give survivors a reason to do so. Survivors only have 4 vaccins. So if you want survivors to use the chests more, the vaccins need to be replenished. They are a very limited resource, you'd want to use it as late as possible. Making them more important early game would also go back to point 2 where Nemesis would need to be forced out of T3. Making him basically the pallet version of Myers, and I dont think that will really help much.

Buffing him one way without nerfing him the other way would make him consume resources even faster than Bubba can, while hitting survivors whenever Huntress can. While being 115% and barely being slowed down. You can see how you're trying to pretty much take the best parts of certain killers while having barely any of their weaknesses is gonna be a hot mess of imbalance.

I dont agree with you on number 2. Nemesis should be able to wound and down people in level 3.

First of all, you don't need to go back from level 3 just because you can hurt healthy people with your tentacle. Killers like Cannibal, Billy, Myers or Ghostface go back from their stacked power because they can literally 1 shot you, it's not the same case by any means.

The thing is, you usually need 3 tentacle strikes because you, at least, get something in return. By doing that, you are leveling up your power, which comes with greater benefits at levels 2 and 3. But that stops being the case once you reach level 3, and then you are giving survivors a free health state "because yes". There has been many times where i had my power leveled up to 3 only to not use it against survivors. Why should i use it and make the chases even longer without getting anything in return? Just punch them.

Your Huntress comparison it's also not very fair. Let's compare him with a killer that has a "somewhat" similar ranged attack power: Pyramid Head. PH ranged attack has a wider area, more range, ignores both pallets and walls, can hit multiple people and he only needs 2 hits to down survivors. I have played Nemesis a lot and now i main him, but after playing him many hours i went back to PH which was my 2nd main, and i was amazed on how fast was i downing people in chases and doing what Nemesis does, but better.

At level 3 you are at the peak of your power, and usually you have taken a LOT of time to get into there (and even more after his Marvin's blood accesory nerf goes live). You have no reason to keep giving survivors a 3rd health state with a speed boost because reasons. You are not getting anything in return.
